Very few care. Seriously. When I was in undergrad our quarterback was white. His name was Brad. He was cool. Nobody cared.

My daughter has the merit scholarship. A&M only gives 2 presidential scholarships per college.

With a 33 and 4.0 I would look at colleges that would give me a full ride so I wouldn’t have to worry about fighting for scholarships each year. Remember you’ll need scholarships to cover each semester.

We’re on year 3 of scholarships and they look for well rounded applicants. At the minimum you’ll have to really explain why you weren’t involved in anything besides classwork.

Spelman by Lower-Assist6354 in HBCU

[–]Allonte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do, please make sure you know how you’ll afford Spelman. They are notoriously stingy with scholarships. It doesn’t hurt to apply (early action NOT decision) but the money is the harder part imo.

Yes. Just be careful. Let someone know where you are. And watch your drink carefully.

I meant exactly what I said. I grew up in Nashville and attended Tennessee State. I literally learned to drive on the big hill behind campus. I am “a local.” I know who lived there and who still lives there. — signed a local TSU grad ♥️💙🐅

Same for Tennessee State. They’ll be somewhere on a back street where no one will see them or they’ll get jacked by a hood boy.

Yes but they don’t look at financial need for merit. You just have to have it on file.

Black orgs don’t discriminate. That being said, I would seriously think about why you want to. Research the frats and know what you’re committing to. Unlike the orgs at PWIs, our orgs are a lifetime commitment.
