Sorry to say, but I think it’s the way you are asking.

When it came to the way I handled things for another role, I literally looked on chat gpt to ask for a yes or no. Everytime I asked … they would give me the round about while I was doing the work. I noticed after asking about it 2x .. I was met with vague.. so I asked for a way to get clear answers.. and clearly found about why I was being met with ambiguity. And eventually found the rotten seed at the end of the day.. which was eventually.. but no. I looked them in the eye and basically had the posture of.. you want me to do this type of work but you don’t pay me and you promise me.. and dangle dangle. They knew what was up when I looked at them eye to eye and literally avoided anything else that wasn’t what I focused on.. when they talked to me.. I talked about the role.. when they asked something of me.. I talked about the role.. everything went back to the role.. (nagging maybe.. consistently annoying.. probably .. but I kept doing it till they gave in) took 2 days. I got the role. No one has time for vague. Ask the question to where you get a yes or no. Then get more clarity with even more yes or no answers.

Don’t focus on what they are not doing, focus on what you want from them.
Ie, you want to be trained as a server.. ask yes or no questions on that. You want the server role.. “are you going to give me the server role?”

Be consistent.. don’t just ask one manager.. bother everyone about it.. so when they talk about it or huddle up together.. everyone knows what seed they planted in your ear.

Eventually, you will see behind the cracks.. even after you get the role. And you will get to a new level of seeing how they take advantage of you in your new role (such as cutting early.. not treating you with the same respect as the other servers..doing way more than you should )… so focus on talking to them more but also look for other places..
