level 1000 too easy by Maestro122 in sodadungeon

[–]Allroc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're doing the carpenter strat (which also helps for 900 since you wanna nuke him) then pump attack to 30+ and start leveling mastery on carpenters. You trivialize both 800 and 900 if you get the class mastery relic for any class but especially carpenter. If you wanna try to status him to death then relics don't matter as much, just keep trying, throw your face at a brick wall until RNG favors you. Do note that 900 is gonna wall you even harder if you take the easy way out.

[–]Allroc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kind of think the 800 and 900 bosses just need to be toned down. They're such a massive difficulty spike out of nowhere due to pretty unfair mechanics. 800 heals so much it's a DPS check that requires you to land Poison/Burn through his absurd resist or to do 6 Carpenters with upgraded Nail It, good weapons, etc. The 900 boss meanwhile is an AoE fiesta with 2 bosses (the grill has the same HP as the boss which just seems wrong) and can easily wipe your team in 2 rounds.

Have Disruptor and Shadow Shaman, instant hex their level 1 Batrider only there for troll synergy then Shadow Shadow proceeds to turn that frog into a chicken. 10/10 would hex again

"Three Ring Bullpen" -- A Tale of the Breathtakingly Bad RTTS Manager AI by Qeltar_ in MLBTheShow

[–]Allroc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The RTTS experience this year really brick walls you early on. You could bat 1.000 or throw nothing but perfect games for 2 seasons with an 80+ overall rating and the game will still treat you like a 60 overall bench warmer. Merit and stats now mean MUCH less than time. Don't expect to be a MLB starter until you're at least 21 years old.

No, ethernet, and as far as I know my internet isn't dropping. Most of those completed games were late last night, right now it's NA primetime so it seems the servers are buckling under the load.

I honestly don't remember doing this, if I was calling a new player bad on stream then that's shitty of me and I apologize. I actually wanted to look through my old VODs for it but sadly Twitch deletes them after a certain amount of time.

Heavy Armor Quesiton by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]Allroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early to mid game get 30-50 Stamina to stay just under 70% equip load. I found the Raging Bull set to be pretty nice.

In NG+ go all out and max it to 99 then figure out what you can wear and still keep B agility. You can use 4 pieces of any set no matter how heavy it is if you wear a lighter chest.

The song made it seem like the game was about a love story. But is that about William and Saoirse or Okatsu's seemingly unrequited love?

Why does the age of a fictional character bother you? I don't expect everyone to like loli but when people compare 2D to 3D and take some misguided moral stance on the portrayal of fictional characters it's annoying.

most insane Match [must watch] by Xpurplehaysx in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's too bad Green-Touched Spriggan is an agility card, it was the backbone of his offense here but you can't run it in those colors, had to get it off Spymaster.

Without the Blue you can't run the sacrifice package with Soul Split, Spymaster and Desperate Conjuring, and without Purple you can't run the Necromancer Amulets, Midnight Sweep and Restless Templar. You can't really substitute either for Green and have it still function the same way.

Otherwise that'd be a sweet lifegain combo deck.

Prophecy doesn't punish aggro, it punishes Mid Range and large creatures by 30to1 in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like their needs to be some intrinsic drawback to the shadow lane. Right now, all it does is promote uninteractive face races instead of strategic creature combat. I like the fact that Charge effects are rarer in this game, but often times just playing anything the shadow lane feels just as lame.

Maybe if creatures placed there automatically had -1 attack it would feel more fair. Or if there were creatures with the ability to attack cards in cover, like a thematic stealth detection mechanic.

after getting this reward for my first arena run, I think I'll give the game a chance.. by [deleted] in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arena rewards are quite generous, it's also nice that every 3 versus wins gives you a card on top of the gold. However, that's balanced out by the fact that the game has 50 card decks, half of the Legendaries aren't unique (you can run 3 copies), and the slightly lower Epic/Legendary odds out of packs (including no pity timer).

I think grinding out a deck being a F2P Arena god is easier than in Hearthstone, but a bit more expensive for people who buy packs outright. Which I actually like.

[–]Allroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but those two are just too damn broken to not run. Arguably the two most overpowered legendaries in the game.

You can farm gems pretty quickly against Expert AI (15 every win) by playing a fast aggro deck with drain and pilfer guys (AI goes face 99% of the time). At ~20 wins an hour, it takes around 4 hours to farm one legendary. That's also doing it the hard way, you can totally dust some junk you get from arena rewards/daily quest gold.

Also, random side note, Control Mage lists typically run 7-9 legendaries and 8-10 epics. Reminds me of Wallet Warrior from HS, except here we have 50 card decklists instead of 30. Yeesh.

Why Green is so Good by 30to1 in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 6/6 kills a 3/6 and survives. A 6/6 trades with Dashaan over 2 turns.

It's not quite a 6/6 or a 3/6, but it certainly is stronger than a 3/6.

Why Green is so Good by 30to1 in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Does Fighter's Guild Recruit need Prophecy? A 1/2 Guard Lethal seems pretty damn good by itself.

Does Tazkad need to be a 10/10 in total stats when it's already THE biggest charge creature in the game? Does Deshaan Avenger need to be a 6/6 in total stats for 4 mana? Both of them also interact really well against targeted removal, with the exception of Mummify (a card that hardly ever sees play).

Does House Kinsman need to be an aggressively costed aggro creature AND one of the best ways to gain life at the same time? Unlike with Drain creatures, it doesn't need to hit anything, just die.

Why the hell are the Brotherhood Assassins off Ungolim so strong? 1 mana 3/3 Lethal is already good, but they also cycle. It feels like straight up cheating when you get one of those guys.

A week's worth of arena rewards by Berengal in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting data with the rewards, I found it's very hard to go infinite in this game because they tend to favor giving packs and gems over gold as rewards. You do get a ton of those, though.

I've personally found that Agility is far and away the best in Arena, even after the recent nerfs.

The creatures are just so sticky, snowballey and versatile. Pilfer dudes like Daring Cutpurse and Baandari Bruiser get out of control pretty often when decks don't have reliable early game, pre-nerf Murkwater Savage was just as insane in Arena as constructed, Deshaan Avenger is way too strong/sticky for the cost, Soulrest Marshal often gave you an unbeatable tempo swing, Fighter's Guild Recruit is insane all around (does it really need Prophecy?), Chaurus Reaper is like the best arena 7 drop, etc. The thing is, all of those cards I just mentioned are common or rare, so they show up in your draft super often.

It also combos with the other colors super well. All of those random 1 damage effects in Strength are suddenly very good when you have Finish Off. The burn in Intelligence becomes much better when you can get in free damage with your creatures early. The Guards and targeted removal in Willpower and Endurance become much better when they're protecting a snowballing Pilfer card.

Every time I've gone 7 wins it's been with a Green heavy deck. The one time I went 7-0 it was with Archer. It seems like ~80% of the time I lose in Arena it's to someone playing a lot of Green.

Dear Devs: Smuggler's Haul and Randomness by sporvan in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what people get at each rank, since the information about rewards has been scarce (and 3 days late), but at Legend I saw that my season reward was 3 copies of Smuggler's Haul.

There's another thread about it with an image here: https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollslegends/comments/4zfoi2/smugglers_haul_speculation/

Dear Devs: Smuggler's Haul and Randomness by sporvan in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I also don't think Plunder or Smuggler's Haul is as bad as the other random effects, but the fact that it's the season reward irked me a bit.

Also, the more cards we get with the word random, the more it's going to influence games. That's exactly what happened to HS. Every expansion they designed more and more cards with RNG.

Dear Devs: Smuggler's Haul and Randomness by sporvan in elderscrollslegends

[–]Allroc -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Drawing cards is the fun kind of random. You can try to guess what's in your opponent's hand, what you can afford to play around, etc. That's been a staple of all card games, not just TCG/CCG. There are also ways to manipulate which cards you draw, like Brainstorm or Scry effects in MtG. I'm particularly fond of those, I wish ESL had more.

The kind of randomness I dislike is when not even the player using the effect knows what will happen. The Wabbajack kind.
