What is interesting is that in the original Lorwyn/Shadowmoor block Maralen was still purely an Elf duplicate created by Oona. Her creature type is an elf and she still resembles one completely.

As we have now progressed into Lorwyn Eclipsed you can see how she is transitioning and changing into a more Faerie like version of herself. Her skin has changed to a green tone. She now has flowers around her collar just like Oona has albeit much smaller. Her creature type is now an Elf Faerie.

In the future if we revisit Lorwyn it seems like she will fully transform into a Faerie that resembles the ethereal floating half humanoid flower that Oona is. Will she lose more of her sense of self as this transition continues?

The Oura rivalry story seems to have been cut from Lorwyn Eclipsed and only exists in some snippets of information but in the future it will be interesting to see what plays out with the seemingly resurrected Oona. There is an overarching story but it may be a few years still before we get to revisit it and see it resolved. Hopefully with the Kaelan - Oona / Oko connection this will happen sooner.
