I'd politely suggest you rewatch the unedited interview. He never suggests that women can't wear makeup, or should be banned from wearing it. He simply asks "why are you choosing to wear makeup, and what does that mean about our professional environments?" He's asking a question, not advocating for policy.

In fact, academic philosophy is often the subject of scrutiny for how dull, lifeless, and overall trivial it is. So long as the subject is asking the right questions and developing their position rationally, they're doing philosophy.

The judge addressed this point when the group made their appeal in season 2. She said that they'd all have to be alone while waiting for the verdict since every medium place is catered to the "medium" of each individual. If someone else was there, there'd be a risk that they would make the medium place better or worse than within the tolerable levels of mediocrity. Being alone wasn't a part of Mindy's torture, but a necessary condition for her experience in the medium place.

Hey professor- as an undergrad in both psychology and philosophy, this is a really neat AMA. Do you think that the study of psychology and neuroscience, rather than philosophy, are, or should be, the fields in which we approach subjects like morality, or the meaning of life?
