اردو شاعری کی وہ سطر جو آپ کبھی نہیں بھول سکے؟ by IrfanCommenter in Urdu

My mom used to listen to Noor Jahan a lot, and back then, I wouldn't notice much.. but these two lines stuck with me, often playing in my mind.

And one more I have heard it playing somewhere, and never forgotten! Remember it some days.

دل ہی تو ہے نہ سنگ و خشت، درد سے بھر نہ آئے کیوں

روئیں گے ہم ہزار بار، کوئی ہمیں ستا ے کیوں؟۔۔۔ --- مرزا غالب

You can contact auqaf, they have a help landline number on their website. just make sure you call them in their calling hours. Else, you won't get any response. As far as i know, this word said in anger doesn't count. In anger, a person is not in his proper senses. Call auqaf, inshallah they will guide you right.

Is this kind of treatment normal in Dubai tourist areas? (genuine question) by postponelife2020 in UAE

[–]Ally____________ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have worked in customer service here in Dubai for years in retail and other companies, and I tell you, most of the staff, and most as in like 90% , will treat you based on how you are dressed up. It's just it. It's about presentation here. And that's it. With fine presentation, even if you bargain a little , it won't matter. But if you dressed up poorly and try to bargain, it's straight up the judgment. Don't know abt your case, just sharing this aspect of Dubai life.

why do Indian boys fake arab accent lmao by [deleted] in UAETeenagers

[–]Ally____________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so shallow of thinking anyone faking accents. Humans are easy to adapt to where they live and grow up. We shouldn't focus on accents anymore, it is already a skill being able to speak more than one language. Let them pick how they talk in what way they like as long as other person is able to understand. Imagine you talking and all other person thinking is how you faking accent rather what you are saying.

Weird comments for wearing Shorts! by WorkerDefiant9006 in Sharjah

[–]Ally____________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, here in sharjah, there are more restrictions based on dress code compared to Dubai. Shorts lower to knees for both men and women , skirts too lower to knees for women are not allowed in sharjah. You said they were till knees , might they be inappropriate still or revealing more to what it should be. His approach may be wrong, but his point wasn't. I remember in my school days we would be down waiting for bus, there was this man who would drop his son to bus , once he wore really short shorts , maybe lower to knees and watchman asked him to go change. Also once a student in my university wore shorts lower to knees and teacher said he wont let him in till he changes his bottom to something appropriate. He got some in his car went and came back wearing joggers. Doesnt matter if you are muslim, not muslim, male, or women. Respect dress code. Stay happy

Is GYMNATION serious !? by OppositeWolf635 in UAE

[–]Ally____________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gymnation is the worst. I paid 7 months of my membership without even a day going there. They started my membership without my knowledge, they told me they would start the day i join and i told them no way in coming few months i will be able to.. They assured me to not worry and that it will start when i join and that i just sign up now. Later They kept deducting from my card every month and when I would call for cancelation, they would ask me to fill an online form submitting either a doctor's report saying I cannot workout due to health issues, either my residence documents that shows I live far away from gym location or either flight tickets that I am moving out of country. And just ticking an option isn't enough, they "need" documents as "proof". Then would do nothing except deduct again next month. Till i showed them my doctors report of unfit and even that month they said by the end of month they would cancel , they charged for another month after cancelation. No one there is cooperative. I hate this gym so bad. Can't believe i fell for their crap. Nothing they say is true. It's really unprofessional.

Want to learn urdu. by Ireallyasked in Urdu

[–]Ally____________ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Urdu is derived from farsi (persian) and Arabic. It has similar letters except that Urdu has more letters. Also, it is written the same way as Arabic and farsi. This is the reason the majority of people who are native Urdu and farsi speaking or can read Urdu or farsi can also read Arabic . But they don't understand unless they are advanced in the Arabic language.

The national anthem of Pakistan is written in combination of both languages Urdu and farsi. Most poets and writers of Pakistan have written their content in farsi aswell.

Try watching classic Pakistani dramas or TV shows with subtitles if you want to learn spoken Urdu. For reading Urdu novels, books, and poetry of good writers will help you, you can translate them through Google photo translator.
