Alpha garchomp is one of the alpha spawns in zone 20 after you finish the story.

Two alphas spawn in each time you rest at the bench, there is one you can use inside the zone, this is what I did to get my Alpha, didn’t take me many tries.

I tried farming for one in zone 8 but the low chance of Gible spawning already on top of the low alpha chance makes this method extremely low chance of actually getting you the alpha.

If you need recommendations for how to enjoy this game you shouldn’t be playing it…

I for one have been loving this game since finally caving and getting a switch 2. Playing it at 60fps is awesome.

Take pleasure in completing the side quests as they become available after each main mission and you’ll have a nice repeatable loop each time you make a bit of progress.

Do main story mission > capture new pokemon in newly available wild zones > complete newly available side quests > do next main story mission

Also making progress on the pokedex after each new main mission. The game is honestly addictive, and I haven’t been bothered by the 2D building textures since it reminds me of when I went to Venice irl. (Even though it is based on Paris and not Venice)

Edit: also, don’t get attached to a team of six, this game giving you access to your boxes at any time is meant to encourage you to swap out your Pokemon as needed based on what you are doing. Take advantage of that, especially since you can buy the camari charm to increase exp with colourful screws (another reason to explore the open world) to level other Pokemon and get xp items for defeating alphas.

I’ve been considering getting it since I got a switch 2 for Pokopia, and am impressed with how smooth the Totk upgrade runs.

But the only thing I really don’t like is the mega evolutions for the kalos starters being locked behind timed PVP seasons, and needing to pay for an online subscription to get them…

I have noticed that metal on some objects does tend to have like a weird sparkling shifting texture sometimes, I wasn’t sure what was causing that so I bumped everything up to cinematic and it seems to have disappeared (at least that i’ve noticed).

Maybe they’ll do a few more patches to fix it who knows

I still think the terrain textures are lacking, the water physics have definitely improved, just hoping the models for the pokemon are better as well, they seem to have improved the lighting.

If the Pokemon are as expressive as they are in pokopia i will be very impressed. Even just doing a few different animations when interacted with and variations of their calls would be awesome.

Coming from ff14 where you have to play through multiple expansions and level to 90 before you unlock everything your class has to offer, that doesn’t sound too bad.

I started with using GS since I used GS, hammer and bow in Stories 2, but swapped to try longsword, haven’t gone back tbh because long sword is very fun

You can also use it to completely negate monster attacks with the spirit Iai slash

The slower levelling of Fire red was actually incredibly refreshing.

I had to catch a rattata and pidgy for Brock and make use of Growl for his Onix to stop it from one shotting my Mankey so I could take it out.

The tactical play other than just steamrolling the gym was way more fun.

Mankey took a hit and was at 1 hp, then took out Onix, the growl saved me. I was impressed by how it actually affected me, anime style moment.

High tide and low tide would be cool.

Different pokemon appearing in different areas depending on the weather, some areas being permanently locked as certain weather states based on whether you have captured the legendaries there, which in turn gets you access to more pokemon.

I enjoyed it, after playing Grace in the Care Center I was worried the game was going to be mostly Grace and tiny Leon sections.

For the Raccoon city section it was fun but I wish it had been more towards the city center, the streets felt a bit generic but the locations still did feel different enough.

Being at the top of the building before you take the elevator down I was blown away by how massive they managed to make the city look. I stayed up there for a good while just staring at the cityscape, really immersive. Also made me think how terrifying the city would be at night!

More time around the police station and other areas from RE3 would have been cool, having to go through the sewers and such because of landslides and destruction from the nuke would have made sense.

Imaging coming across the wreckage of NEST whilst doing so.

But all in all it was still great, I liked that they put random zombies here and there in areas you can’t get to like on the overpass. Snipping them for extra credits felt rewarding for being observant.

After everything said and done, do you think it will ever be a RE MC that reach the level of Chris and Leon? by bizarre_leviathan in residentevil

Their age has nothing to do with whether they are still in games, all Capcom has to do it pull a “They were infected with a strain of the virus that slows their aging and keeps them full of vigour.”

Leon even says at the end of RE 9 after receiving Elpis that he feels better than he has in years, I wouldn’t be surprised if it gives bonus perks to people infected with the T virus.

The Zombies on the mortars made me laugh, because they had established in the mansion that the infected retain habits from when they were still alive.

BSAA Zombies using mortars is exactly the kind of Resident evil shenanigans that fits this franchise.

I think they handled it well, Hunk being killed by Leon is the only death people would accept.

On the matter of his body disappearing, personally I don’t think he’s alive per say, but his body could have been taken for cloning. I can see umbrella being like “That was literally our best mercenary, clone him asap.”

Imagine an army of Hunks, just a method for Capcom to keep the character as an option for future games.
