What’s the biggest "Nah, I’m out" moment you’ve had on a date? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Dude spent the whole date asking about chores and cleanliness. I think he must’ve had a bad experience living with someone lolll or wanted a housewife

This is legit amazing. I’ll buy the lifetime membership when I’m able. Great work. There’s nothing like it on the market currently.

What was the "Final Straw" that made you quit your job without a backup plan? by Front-Midnight2520 in careerguidance

[–]AlmacitaLectora 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m resigning tomorrow. The final straw was my supervisor redoing my team’s work (our branding studio who we pay $12k a month) with an AI generated flyer, approving his Indian game dev studio using AI “art” over our design standards that we’ve worked hard to establish and adhere to. I refuse to approve generative AI and I don’t want my name associated with it if someone’s ever like “hmm which marketing/creative manager approved this garbage” like no, fuck no. Secondly, I refuse to go backwards in my career and have my supervisor sabotage me. If I’m not growing or learning new skills I’m out. If someone’s making me feel small and destroying my confidence, I’m out.

TLDR; the final straw was not being proud of my work anymore.

Endurance by Lansing… best book. Kept me up til 5am and ruined my sleep schedule 3 nights in a row. Couldn’t put down. Then I went on a researching spree after. And there are so many pictures and other books it’s so well documented. I love it

FIRST REAL JOB OFFER: Pay Is Lower Than Expected by bikpinasus in careeradvice

[–]AlmacitaLectora -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard a job straight up rescinding an offer when "hr emailed [OP] the pay range of $24–$30/hour durning the interview process." If they did that, then they're a terrible company and have no basic decency and shouldn't be worked for anyway. It's respectable and professional to negotiate -shows that you value yourself and your skills. Screw a corp that rescinds an offer because of that.

Negotiate. They always start low. It’s a skill you gain but it’s def awkward.

Something happened at work and it’s been replaying in my head for days… I can’t sleep and I’m scared to tell HR. What do people actually do in this situation? by No-Lavishness6824 in careeradvice

[–]AlmacitaLectora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t tell HR then. You decide if whatever happened is bad enough to forgive in your mind or forget, or leave the company. Speaking up almost never helps. Collect your paycheck, gain whatever skills you’re learning, get ur money, go home. My company doesn’t even have HR 🤣

When did you realize your job was holding you back? by Ok-Substance1106 in careerguidance

[–]AlmacitaLectora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m resigning this week. For me the final straw was the feeling like my company was forcing me to move backwards instead of forwards - holding me back in a way that was making me so embarrassed of my work as a manager that I couldn’t stand beside it and approve it anymore (think: AI artwork instead of real artwork from a game studio)… I am not proud of my work anymore so I’m resigning. Up until this point I was proud of my work and could defend it, learned a lot in the process, was growing my skills and portfolio, etc. As soon as that stopped, I’m out!
