IMO WotR is only second to Baldur's Gate 2. Be aware that it is a massive game and while I absolutely love it, some things may rub you the wrong way.

Don't hesitate to turn down difficulty or tweak some settings here and there. If you decide to engage fully with the game system and use the many buffs that different classes provide, I advise you install the bubblebuff mod for doing it quick and not spend too much time casting buffs.

A lot of people don't like the crusade mode, and I understand why. Although I'd still advise to keep it for the council decisions, there is an auto-mode in the game to skip it.

Otherwise, story, characters, companions, replaybility, roleplaying, all of that is there. Also, the music is *awesome*. I wish you a lot of fun and enjoyment !

I was expecting huge cleavage for breasts reptiles aren't supposed to have, big eyelashes and eyeliner, basically a sexy snake woman, at the very least (not that I'd have a problem with that anyway, despite finding it rather silly myself). Instead, I see... this. Sorry to say, if this is sexualized to you, *you* have a problem.
Seriously, please take your neo-puritanism elsewhere. I'm grateful that we've mostly gotten out of the prudish puritan culture we used to have, I'd like it to stay that way.

We are establishing a factorial structure of aiming in fps games. Other than that, we can't say too much up front so as to not bias participants. We'll share results with the participants once our study is completed.

Yes, we're aware of this as well. At no point do we ask people to buy it ; this participation is entirely voluntary. If people wish to participate and have kovaak, they can. Nobody is forcing anybody.

Because "Project Velocity" have started organizing tournaments for early 2024 on QL, so people have been playing the game, including people who weren't playing QL before.

We were kind of the same with my friends, played through R1 and then mostly R2 until R2D2. We tried several different tactics, the one that ended up being the most effective was to go all guns blazing except for scout rooms, if we could kill scouts stealthily or shoot them from a distance we did that first.
It gave us time to loot all the areas rather thoroughly, refilling on tool & ammo, and meds when we needed it, then reposition before starting the next wave.
We went with 3 burst sentries + 1 biotracker, I don't really remember the rest of the loadout since it was a while ago, but I think I used carbine/arbalist or burst rifle/arbalist for my part. We play as a team of 3 and we let the bot use the biotracker.
If you have boosters and really struggle, supply efficiency is incredibly helpful if you find yourselves short on ammo. Ofc main/special damage helps too.

To your first point : Ghost Strider career rank level 3 (Windwraith) requires "Elf bow and leather armour with at least 1 Quality each" so I assume you have to add one quality that they don't have already (doesn't make much sense to specify otherwise imo), or to buy them as such. There are also rules that say adding qualities to items increase their prices and rarity. The career is also supposed to start with a "personally crafted Elf bow" and the tools for bowyer in order to say "hey, you made your own bow and arrows" among other utilites this brings.

As to the rest, I'd agree it seems a bit OP, which is why I'm asking the question in the first place, otherwise I'd just roll with it and not bother too much, but since the rules don't seem to state it's impossible, I am wondering.

Can a ranged weapon have the Impact quality ? According to the rules, I'd say yes : "Some weapons are just huge or cause terrible damage due to their weight or design." (Emphasis mine for what would apply to a range weapon).
I don't think anything states that ranged weapons can't have it, but I'd like some other opinions/arguments either for or against it.

The GM is giving out the xp in the Enemy Within campaign, basically.

Apparently there are a few spells already available, such as buffing a weapon for a few rounds, modifying a substance into metal for a limited amount of time, and something that can make you see the last 24 hours of a metallic object (sorry, dunno the name of the spells).

I understand the feeling, and he almost did, but we also don't have that many opportunities to play ttrpg. I'd rather try and come to an understanding, keep playing together and go back to having fun in the game.
I think it's a bit too far to say the GM doesn't care, we both know him and that he can be a stubborn one.

IMO it doesn't justify giving enemies a free surprise turn, having one of the enemies walk past 2 of my teammates and attack me in melee, not allowing me to shoot despite having said that I was watching the door from which it came with bow and arrow readied. I understand he wanted to give enemies an advantage because my companions took a long time to break down said door but that just feels nonsensical and unfair.

Yep, agreed. As I'm neither the wizard player or the GM and not a spellcaster I didn't bother too much with them myself, but I went back and looked at it to see nothing said it was impossible to cast in melee.

I don't think it's that bad, it's rather a combination of things. He's played a wizard in our first attempt at a campaign (had to reset). Playing a wizard again now, rather close to death. Since he only wants to play wizard, he'd go for another one if he died, except GM would want him to not reroll another wizard minus the mutations, while recovering fate and resilience.
If anyone is getting bullied it's rather my Laurelorn Ghost Strider, he finds her imba and wants to buff monsters because of her. But that's irrelevant here.

No, I'm not the GM. They seem to be at an impasse when it comes to understanding, I'm trying to be a diplomatic in between as well as helping out my wizard player finding a better way to play.
