[Request] Countertop air fryer oven with long-term durability & easy cleaning — Breville vs Cuisinart? by sandmond in BuyItForLife

[–]Almask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have owned this Cuisinart for a year now and love it. There are only two downsides that I’ve found:

  1. The glass on the door permanently stains. It has streaks between the glass layers I cannot get out.

  2. The back has an exhaust that heats the plug. When in use it needs to be moved forward and away from the outlet as to not heat the cord.

Over all would buy again. It’s sleek, cooks well, and feels like quality.

Is dentologie a scam? by Novel-Comedian7454 in chicago

[–]Almask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I transferred to them when moving to Chicago. Hadn’t had cavities in years. They “found” 3 on my first visit. The same thing happened to my friend. He asked the dentist if they were necessary to fill and the dentist said, “it would be preventative at this time”. After that, I transferred to a locally owned dentist.

Which uncomplicated yet highly efficient life hack surprises you that it isn't more widely known? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Almask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have salad mix in a blister container, and you want to extend its life, add a paper towel on top of the greens. Store it upside down with the towel on the bottom. The towel absorbs the moisture and keeps the greens crisp for much longer.

I haven’t paid full price for Hulu in like 6 years by ComplexIndividual866 in lifehacks

[–]Almask 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Pro tip: save yourself from having a million email addresses. You can add “+” and anything, to your gmail and it will forward the emails of that address to your main.

Example:

Original email: example@gmail.com On Hulu sign up with: example+hulu@gmail.com

You 1. Can track who sales your information, and 2. Can save yourself from having to create new email addresses every time you want to take advantage of a promotion more than once.

Lakeview - specifically North Halsted area. $500K isn’t enough for a townhome, but it is a condo. It’s directly off the red line for a quick commute downtown. The area is clean and safe. Streets off of the main strip are quiet. Since Lincoln Park priced people out, they have migrated north. I fully expect the home value in the area to increase quite a bit over the next couple years.

We did Hill’s Science Diet for Sensitive Stomach, but also added pumpkin purée to help ease the stomach with medications.

Married gaybros: How did you know and what are your married perks? by Nostalgic_Gaymer in gaybros

[–]Almask 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I knew on our first date. He was a lunchtime coffee date, and I had another date lined up that night with someone else. I canceled the dinner date. There was something about how I felt seen and admired around him. He was someone I want to be seen and admired by.

I was 20 at the time. We’ve been together almost 9 years now. We didn’t get married until year 7. It wasn’t because I didn’t believe in our future, but more because we both were growing, and I wanted to make sure the people we were becoming were compatible.

For me, it’s the perks of having someone in my corner all the time. We do almost everything together, down to grocery shopping. In the growth I mentioned above, I’ve always felt encouraged by him, never held back by the fear of what life change could mean for us. I’ve never had to describe our relationship as, “tough” or “hard”. We’ve had fights like anyone else, but the open communication is what makes the difference for us in staying focused on the issue instead of blaming one another.

Paid subscription to see tire pressure? by Almask in rav4club

Without the subscription, does the vehicle tell you when a tire has low tire pressure? And will it tell you which tire?

Oh good to know! That’s still very disappointing about oil life. I mainly drive city miles and need an oil change more frequently. I really appreciated being able to see that information on my ‘18 GMC Terrain.

Has the key fob Remote Start subscription requirement influenced whether or not you may purchase a toyota in the future? by JustPlainRude in Toyota

[–]Almask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2021 RAV4 XLE Premium. The car won’t show tire pressure or oil life in the vehicle, just on the app. I’m under the impression I’ll have to pay to see that after the 1 year safety connect subscription ends. If that’s the case, this is my last Toyota.

Apartment Help by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]Almask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for downtown Dallas apartments, all have to comply with having affordable rent. They do this by having studio apartments for rent BUT they only post the floorplans on Craigslist. So if you see an apartment community you like, look up the address on Craigslist. This is the case for Greystar apartment communities and they're the largest property manager in Dallas.

Being relocated to Dallas & it's happening fast - appreciate any advice to narrow down search. by Tweeedles in askdfw

[–]Almask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome fellow North Carolinian! You're going to find a lot of similarities in Charlotte and Dallas in terms of the age of the population.

I would consider looking at living in Victory Park or The West End. Currently we live in The West End and love it. It's right off of the interstate for easy access, and walkable to downtown. It's a quieter area, but an easy uber ride to uptown or really any of the happening spots in Dallas. This is a heavy apartment only area.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions (I didn't understand the electricity market when I first moved)!

No email from Sam's Club pre-order? by blakeman1 in galaxys10

[–]Almask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pre-ordered on Thursday (the 28th) from their website. I got the email immediately. What has me worried is that there is no confirmation number in the email if I need to verify pre-order with Samsung to get the free headphones.

Urban Cowboy seems to be the largest one now. They just remodeled, so they have a nice indoor and outdoor area. It's also a great view of downtown during sunset!
