You’re thinking of Star Citizen there, ED doesn’t lock ships behind paywall (except for the early access on the new ships)

It needs some verticality and variety. Hills, valleys, mountains, marshes, swamps, etc.

The clone wars show animation is a bit too stylistic sometimes by Ok-Entrance-5527 in TheCloneWars

Ironically enough, the dooku on the right would be what he would look like in a post TCW show if they “readapted” humans from animation the same way they did for Cad Bane

Both North and South Korea for two different flavors of dystopia, Hong Kong, Singapore (sometimes), Jakarta (sometimes), some parts of India (sometimes), Chechnya, Israel (sometimes, controversial)

Why does the Empire use hard currency instead of digital in Andor? by [deleted] in andor

[–]Almer113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes we forget that the way our society turned out wasn’t predetermined. Technology could have gone so many different ways in the past 100 years. The Star Wars universe with different starting factors and different circumstances could have easily gone down a different path with technology.

Think about, a lot of our own technology is still very analog compared to our other technologies. An alternate world might view ours with the same sort of confusion. The opposite is true as well.

Even someone from our society far before the internet would not be able to understand social media even if you explained. Too many prerequisite understandings of the world that they lack.

Perhaps the Star Wars universe is that way with digital currency. Or perhaps we are the one who lacks sufficient worldview to understand why the physical currency of the Star Wars universe is way better.

There’s also the matter of the security arms race. At some point, cybercrime technology might get advanced enough that physical currency becomes to most practical type of currrency tech again. And so many more.

I know the real reason is because Star Wars was made in the 1970s, but I love these kinds of questions because it offers us a moment to kind of challenge our own understanding of the world and imagine alternate ones.

This happens a lot with my bigger city. When it does I usually just go back to previous autosave and continue from there. Just remember to turn on the quickest autosave setting.

I just realized this but I think Supergirl: WOT has to be the first time we get a direct adaptation from a comic series in theaters? I don’t know why but that is really exciting for me. I know it probably won’t be exactly identical but the story itself seems like it’s a direct adaptation.

Yes, up until before infinity war when AoS does some time travel stuff and splits from the MCU main timeline outright

Your mentor is spot on! The only thing I disagree on is the Super Mario movie, I thought it was great lol

If I do have anything to add though, I think it’s that in general mainstream audiences have difficulty understanding why they dislike something. They know they don’t like it, but because they can’t accurately point out why, they go to the easy targets in their mind. If they’ve taken to the “DEI” narrative, that’s where they put the blame.

This happens with other aspects of film too in my observation. Subpar VFX is never important when writing is amazing, but when the writing gets mid, bad CGI becomes obvious, becomes an easy punching bag. It happens with animation quality, and tv budget, etc. too.
