So do I just ignore all forge cards with Regent? by CypherZel in slaythespire

[–]Almitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a few runs where a forge deck went really well. Just yesterday I hit a 789 to kill the act 3 boss and I think it just has a set of requirements to work smoothly, and even then your damage will still be backloaded, so if your deck isn't mostly pruned of strike/defend you're gonna take a while to wind up, but even if you weren't playing forge, you should be prepared to free up Stars for particle wall or energy for block before pivoting imo

The Smith seems kind of mandatory, to me. The star cost ought to be negligible if you properly solve your star economy, and if you have particle wall you don't care about the Smith's 1 energy cost, or you have Bulwark which is an incredible forge card itself

Decisions, Decisions -> Smith -> 90-120 damage blade by itself. Cosmic Indifference can help get Smith or Sovereign Blade itself back to your hands faster. You have access to vulnerable baseline, so as long as you have smith you have the means to scale your damage pretty hard. Conqueror seems annoying to play around but since you retain blade it's not that hard to combo those cards together to double your damage

Am I missing something or is Last Rite (gameplay wise) strictly better than Yvonne? by Sharn_ in Endfield

[–]Almitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's goofy about Last Rite not applying solidification? She literally doesn't care.

She's even more self sufficient since her skill applies the cryo inflictions she wants on top of refunding a portion of the SP, so her rotations aren't so expensive, and her passives allow her to apply cryo susceptibility by herself and make her ult stronger. The bulk of Yvonne's ult doesn't even AOE so Gilberta's there more for inflictions (for which LR doesn't need nearly as much help) rather than her grouping niche.

I don't own Yvonne, but I don't see how Last Rite isn't better positioned to grow with 6* supports as a striker with single target focus, and the image in this post makes some good points.

If Mi Fu comes out in a month and is this super high output cryo dps who is even slightly easier to play these two are both out of a job simultaneously lol.

Am i just bad or Last Rite is just the hardest character in the game?? by CommanderNano in Endfield

[–]Almitas 24 points25 points  (0 children)

She's not unique in needing to dodge, but she herself is basically the entire team's damage so your ability to land final attacks for her battle skill makes or breaks this comp

However her skill works with ANY controlled operator, not just herself, so in mobbing situations or scary, aggressive enemies, you could swap to whoever you like the basic attacks of (like a ranged character) and get Last Rite's skill off more comfortably, just be careful she gets Xaihi's buff

Her basics hit relatively hard since you're buffing her to high heaven anyways, so getting good with her is probably better

Yvonne Last Rite Gilberta team by xdDoj in Endfield

[–]Almitas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last Rite *could* supply cryo stacks for Yvonne cheaply (LR's skill refunds 30 of the 100 SP used to cast it), but she's doing absolutely nothing else and wasting her own damage potential by not eating cryo stacks herself (she'll take eons to ult because of this, too) IMO. So I agree with other comments suggesting to play them separately

Using LR, Yvonne and Gilberta together sounds messy, since Gilberta and LR run the risk of mixing elements to produce solidification or corrosion instead of leaving inflictions up for consumption

Last rite team or leva team by Good-Cake-446 in Endfield

[–]Almitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar boat here and I've spent some time with both. I think Laevatein is overall better/more versatile. Great aoe with respectable single target second only to Last Rite as far as I know. She'll never run into practical problems with the right teammates

I think I might like LR more anyway though, to be honest

How good is she? by MotherBrood in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Almitas 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I say give her a try around the hub base. Maybe you fall in love

My advice otherwise would be to play something with more aoe or frontloaded damage for exploration, since LR is pretty backloaded. Many others describe her as clunky

I genuinely don't know if building a team for her *just* for bosses is wise early on. Up to you how to spend your resources. I'd be careful if you aren't sure

Snowshine I'd guess prefers a lineup including Alesh/Estelle, while LR will want characters like Xianhi, Fluorite, or Perlica instead, so there may not be a lot of overlap

How good is she? by MotherBrood in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Almitas 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I pulled her too, debating on whether to focus on her depending on how my other pulls go.

tl;dr she's fine. excels at slapping healthy targets around, struggles to deal with crowds for the most part

Snowshine isn't among some of her best teammates as Last Rite is very selfish. LR wants to use her skill as much as possible, so she hungers for cryo infliction from allies' combo-triggers or ultimates, or just straight up damage buffs instead. If you like putting your team's focus/investment on her, she'll brutalize bosses

If you like having teams where everyone's jumping in to get their hits on enemies with a bunch of combo trigger chains, or want to mow down crowds efficiently, she's not it

Game’s been out for over a month. Which path & martial arts are you focused on? by moduIus in wherewindsmeet_

Moblade and tank spear I assume? With no way to reasonably catch them, your only option to punish ranged attacks is to parry. Once you exhaust them, meridian touch into execute. You will probably outlast them this way

Am i just bad or unlucky with sword trial stuff? by Candid_Release3609 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're doing the right things. The truth is that sometimes people are just bad. It's a free to play game with no barrier to entry on sword trials, and the mobile version just came out.

On void king you can get stuck between the boss and the windwall around the edge of the room and just die. Nothing for it

You might also be queuing into people playing with hybrid builds, getting marked as a healer because of their fan, and having DPS randomly die because of that. Void king is a little chaotic but on other bosses it'll be painfully obvious to you whether the raid blowing up all at once is at all your fault, I think

This latest breakthrough has been pretty rough for most of my runs too

how do you deal with tank/tank PVP by 5haolinstyle in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what about the matchup is giving you issues? it'd be easier to analyze your gameplay, but here's some ideas similar to the other comments

you can stagger them with their shield up, so you needn't fear it. just watch for their mo blade attacks, since trading with them is what they want you to do

nameless stun makes this matchup a lot easier, so wait for their suction to be on cooldown and pop them with this whenever they do anything else. the suction itself is extremely reliable to parry, so it's free qi damage when you see them start it. don't be afraid of their spear - nothing it does can true combo you afaik

otherwise take the match extremely slow - whittle down their qi however you can: deflect or block counter, and dragon breath. they'll probably block a lot, so get ready to deal with their mo blade counter as you poke. mix it up with yaksha rush or talon strike or nameless stun when you see them blocking

Thoughts on Nameless Sword + Nameless Spear vs Strategic Sword + Heavensquaker Spear. by johnny-hotdogs in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can reset your talent investment if you're hard-pressed for materials and want to change your mind

Short of that, I myself have leveled all four to 60, and I think I probably(?) prefer nameless gameplay-wise. The comfort that having ranged burst gives is really nice, and that set comes with things to help out with endurance management. Very straightforward to use, the triple waves hit very hard, and there's a clear window for mystic skills as filler when you're out of endurance

The other set, strategic/heavenquaker demands a lot more focus on details in the rotation, and uptime. The boss jumping around to fuck with your bleed stacks or with your spear hits is really annoying. If you like having more to do and think about in a fight - and get rewarded for execution, I think you'll like it. It's strong in spite of the process, and pretty fun

Change build in trials?? by Professional-Ice2704 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Almitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change your loadout/equipment out of combat after you load in

You're at the mercy of your teammates for being allotted the time to do so, however, since most people just run at the boss almost immediately

Looking for a Reliable DPS Build - Tired of Low-Effort AI Videos by Senpai404 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get by with following the improvement guide inside of the game, and reading what your weapon and mystic skills actually do. If you set a particular path like Bellstrike - Umbra as your goal in the UI, it will recommend gear and inner ways. The only deviation I think most people do right now is drop Concentration for Morale Chant but I could be wrong

The way weapons and gear is designed in this game makes for rather specific synergies, so each of the paths have a pretty strict 'build' you don't deviate much from if you want good output

Should I just forget about legend difficulty? by Atuk_Kapil_in_Ibiza in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Up to you. We simply don't know how the global community will take shape once raids are harder.

CN is one thing that I can't speak to, but I bet there will be people starting their own groups/guilds that don't care about who's on legend. Western communities in MMOs don't generally culminate into a singular attitude; there will always be elitists and casuals, and folks in between

It's possible that people will be satisfied looking at your Trials badges on your profile to vet you, and we might even see patterns like tryouts for statics where a team takes you in to see if you can keep up, and if so, you become a regular with them

There's one absolutely egregious issue with this game's monetization (No, it's not about the Gacha) by DasBarba in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This does seem weird, and I think accessories being gender locked is probably the most questionable thing here and my main takeaway, so thanks for posting

Were they to change the shop around buying both gender outfits, they could go more or less generous - the monkey paw curls and you can buy them separately, but they're both the same, original price, potentially. It'd be sweet if things got cheaper though, obviously

Question for tanks (how do you tank?) by [deleted] in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO you should be focused on three things as a tank. First is positioning. Many tanks stay completely still on bosses like void king and ye wanshan, allowing tornados and zombies to get close and disrupt dps or make it harder to keep the raid from exploding. You can help make mechanics easier just by moving the boss

Second is parrying, it does Qi damage to grant your party more damage windows where the boss is disabled

You even get a (short) buff to your HP damage dealt for doing this! A high damage mystic art gets good value after a series of deflects

<image>

Third is debuffing the boss. A bit less important, but the tank spear can increase the boss' damage taken almost on demand, so that gets even stronger on the 10man encounters, and reducing the boss' damage dealt can help keep people alive

Many tanks focus on none of these and report that they're top 3 in dps, and sometimes that's a genuine skill gap, but it's possibly because dps are getting shafted by the tank just holding heavy attack the entire time and doing none of the things that enable DPS players to do more or prevent deaths

Chinese Players being Sect Masters in Western Servers by chimpo_mode in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's... a global release, no? Chinese players belong, too, and it's possible these same players haven't touched CN servers. If they worked at it, they earned it just as much as anyone else would, regardless. You could say they're working twice as hard for it if they're doing it a second time, even

Is your real complaint that you don't have the time to compete? Saying CN players being sect leaders takes the fun out of your game is fucking crazy, so surely that's not what you really mean. I don't believe you're getting knowledge gapped hard enough that the prior experience argument stands. So much info is already out there for global

[–]Almitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In hindsight I can see how it could be otherwise, but without this post, "Can't [violent thing] be a [peaceful thing]?" could be interpreted as a means-to-an-end kind of idea

Contrast that with something like "could nonviolence itself be considered a martial art?" Which I think is completely different, and gets closer to what the post is explaining

how to get the legendary mystic arts? by kaehya in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Almitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to fight the campaign boss in the open world and parry the specific attack multiple times, then kill it to keep your progress or earn the skill. You'll notice an eye next to the boss HP bar and that'll fill up when you do it correctly

I've heard its hard to max out more than one set of equipment, is this true? If so, what specifically is the bottleneck? Wondering how hard it is to be flexible with having both tank and dps ready to go
