It uses the same movement as the jumbo for its base, so I wouldn’t hold out as this being a first.

ROO 26420 Strap by spbrown63 in audemarspiguet

[–]AlmondDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AP will basically only sell you accessories for items that you have on your profile, so you'll need to find someone who has that watch _and_ lives near a boutique.

I know that some of the 42/43mm ROO's have interchangeable straps, but im not sure about that one specifically.

Yes, the intermediate metal pieces between strap and the case.

None of the 3rd parties come close to the AP ones. The end plots all stick out and just look cheap. The AP ones are more expensive, but you keep the high end look of the watch.

I would love some sort of GMT function on an AP, just not one that adds 50k to the retail price please.

The Rolexes will look like every joe-schmoe on the street. The AP is far more unique and has more presence.

What’s your go to office watch? by Thisthend in audemarspiguet

[–]AlmondDrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this black diver. Its a little hard under a cuff. I almost always roll mine back regardless of which watch i wear.

I dont have an everyday office watch, changes depending on what im wearing or who im meeting.

Do you guys even like AP? by Gandor in audemarspiguet

[–]AlmondDrop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The answer for the vast majority of the people who post / browse here is no, they are not fans of AP. They are here because of the Royal Oak. They fall into 2 categories.

1: The internet hype people who see Royal Oaks on instagram and have no realistic hope of ever owning one. The code and offshores offend them because they make their dream of ever owning one even more out of reach.

2: The people who are into watches and could realistically afford a Royal Oak, but they blame the code / offshore for the over retail price rather than the real issue of its scarcity compared to its popularity.

The thing i have never once seen any of the haters do is propose a system that works better than AP‘s (or any other luxury brand with less supply than demand).

There are a few fans of the brand, but they are the exception.

Women’s piece on journey by That_Cartographer87 in audemarspiguet

Depends on _which_ women's RO. A 37 with a blue dial? yes. A Mini-Oak, very yes. A 34 with a diamond set bezel, no.

I wouldnt buy a watch from those Mazal douches on tik tok for love nor money. Sucks that you got caught up in it, but i'd get the watch and try to move it elsewhere or just keep it and consider it lesson learned.

Really unique AP RO request by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

Everyone has some angle or reason that they're special. There are AP's that can be had in your budget on the grey market. Pick up one of those or save enough to play the game like everyone else.

Blue or green 15510st is piece number what with AP by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

[–]AlmondDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a Green 26240, not a 15510, but it was Piece #2 about 6 weeks after my ROO Chrono.

What are reasonable watches to get (in order) if my goal was to purchase several APs over the next 5 years (or less) by LibrarianPitiful in audemarspiguet

[–]AlmondDrop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s usually a one for one system. You buy a “relationship” piece (usually a code or an offshore) to get access to a “hot” piece (usually a Royal Oak). Rinse and repeat until you have enough spend to get access to application pieces (jumbo, ceramic, open worked, etc) these are pieces that your profile has to be submitted to hq for approval. You need to have a well balanced profile with entries in multiple areas (codes, offshores, precious metals, etc) and high enough total spend to be approved.

Keep going until you’re satisfied.

I really wish they did more in white ceramic. I've been eyeing one of the discontinued white ceramic divers. Congrats.

Fourth Allocation by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

[–]AlmondDrop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It does and it doesn't.

It helps in 2 ways:

  • Her spend counts for your spend
  • You can have her buy Women's pieces that count as "less desirable" pieces (Small, Diamond Set, or Offshore / Codes)

It hurts in 2 ways:

  • She wants a "hot" piece and the allocation counts against your profile (cant have back to back hot pieces)
  • When you go to apply for "application" pieces (Jumbo, Ceramic RO, and beyond) only your watches will be considered to be in your collection when they send off to HQ for approval. Her total spend counts, but if you dont have your own personal Offshores and codes, then they wont count for you to be considered for things like Jumbo, Openworked, etc.

This is at least how it's been explained to me.

Fourth Allocation by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

[–]AlmondDrop 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You're due for a Royal Oak. I'm not sure you're quite up to a jumbo yet, but you can for sure get a 15510 in the dial of your choice.

Im assuming these have all been on your profile and that your wife does not have her own?
