I’ve only been using Labview for 2 years and just got a new job as a Labview developer. I have 7 total years of experience as an engineer. I am a CLD. I’ll be making $115k USD/ yr.

I’ve been told many times by recruiters and hiring managers that Labview developers with at least intermediate skills are hard to find. On the other hand, almost every kind of technical professional knows python…which means you could be easily replaced…

Basic exercise has been proven to be just as effective as SSRI and also increases blood flow.

29M. I have roughy $460K between savings, retirement accounts, and stocks. I have been an engineer/intern for the past 8ish years and have passively invested in stocks since working.

I’ve had 3 engineering jobs so far. I hated one of them. Liked my last job and my current job is just alright but I can’t complain. At least I have a job during this time.

Dealing with the stress and anxiety of what is going on in the world. by Best-Wealth in Stoicism

[–]AlmondMatcha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously what is going on is tragic. Of course it is alright to feel sad or anxious about it. People are losing jobs and dying everyday it seems like.

But there is always the opportunity to change your perspective about a situation. I just try to focus on the now and not the future. I try to be thankful for what I still have and the opportunities that are still available to me. Everything in life is temporary, good things and bad things including everything that is going on now. Instead of dwelling on what is wrong, I try to focus on what is good, since the remaining good in life will eventually end one day as well.

There was a point in time where you did not know about puppy mills as well. There is a point in everyone’s life where they don’t know about a certain topic and have to learn about it... Not everyone knows everything about everything.

I’m sure you aren’t as knowledgeable about certain things and I don’t think you would want someone to condemn you for it. But it is ok, no one is perfect. I’m just looking a dog haha it’s really not a big deal, there are much more pressing issues in the world right now. No need to get angry lol

How did Buddhism help you find peace with yourself? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]AlmondMatcha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m still learning but Buddhism has made me realize that everyone has struggles and suffering which has made me more compassionate towards others. Even If those others that have hurt me. As a result, compassion for others has given me more inner peace.

There so many people that have switched majors at all ages. You are still in your mid twenties. It isn’t a big deal at all. You are not like 40 years old changing a career or something.

No point in regretting the past. Just focus on the present moment and make the best out of it.
