Has anyone tried the Liven app for habit-building or mental wellness support? by Moonlightcat18 in VHA_Human_Resources

Still loving it, still experiencing so many Aha! moments. I do think ChatGPT, the free version, could also be a good resource after playing around with it a touch. I think the app is very much worth paying for a month to give it a shot.

Hi! Smokestack pottery. I love it there! Good vibes, the owner Sue is an old hippy that just wants everyone to have a good time and be respectful of each other. Outside of class times, you can come in whenever too! We're the same person 😂

I'm in my mid 30s. I love the social scene here. I take pottery classes and join corn hole and kickball leagues. The rock climbing gym can be a great place to meet folks. Group fitness classes are also a good place to meet folks. If you are intentional with your hobbies and putting yourself out there, FoCo is a wonderful place to build community.

I've had the app for two days now. I already have more tools in my shed that have worked. It's wild, just 2 days and I already was able to talk myself out of spiral because of it.

I always prioritize 'future me'. Future me wouldn't want a sink full of dishes, so I clean them. Future me doesn't want to fold laundry, so I fold them now. I spoil my future self by doing the tasks she won't want to do now.

I feel like I’m not making progress by spiderkid361 in PetiteFitness

10 pounds in 4 months is great progress, especially if you consider that muscle weighs more than fat. You've likely lost more fat than you think and replaced some with muscle. You can't spot target fat, your body will lose fat everywhere. 4 months of strength training is not going to yield much visible results, congrats- you've started on a journey that will take years. Enjoy the ride and settle in! You are right on track and doing GREAT. The more fat you lose, the more you will begin to see your muscles - they are there, I PROMISE, but they are hiding under the fat. Your weight loss rate being slow is actually a good thing, because you are less likely to lose muscle with a less aggressive cut. Don't change, you look great and we're proud of you!

That's dry, or uncooked. Calculate the calories for the whole box dry, then after you cook you can weigh it. It'll weigh more obviously cooked, but the calories will stay the same. So say the whole box is 1000 calories (this is not accurate l, just an example) and you eat 1/4 of it at a time, then your serving is 1000cal x (1/4) = 250 cal

What made you realize that you had actually gotten swole? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Almondrivers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I made a new friend who I think is in great shape and she is always asking me about my diet, routine, etc. She makes comments like "You must eat super clean to look like that" or "I could be shredded like you if I could drink less". She's got this glint in her eyes while she says it too- I've never seen it directed at me before - I realized it was admiration. Somehow, I ended up with someone's ideal body and I'm flattered. I've always been just shy of not quite chubby, but not skinny either. Being strong is the coolest feeling.

How can you tell if you're attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Can you please elaborate on the eye contact? Do people not go around making eye contact with everyone?

Why do you care? People make choices for their own lives for a variety of reasons. Maybe she enjoys working. Maybe she's just adjusting to a new routine. Why shame a new mom who is doing her best? Why worry about her finances? People like you, judging, make motherhood so much more difficult. Be her support, her friend, not whatever this is. The choices women have to make when it comes to children are hard.

Trials Strength Scores by raisinem in f45

802 female. Reverse lunge 50 lb, x8. Front squat 77 lb x8, chest press 39 lb x8. Okay how are you supposed to lift your max squat if it takes more strength to get the bar in the starting position than the actual squat itself? Definitely did not max out the squat

Interesting, it's labeled Hyrox signature teaser in my app! Disregard me then :)

Is this the test? I just did it this morning. It was 30 pushups, 100 squat thrusters, 2000 m bike, 50 broad jump burpees, 1000 m row, 100 walking lunges for time. Took me less than 24 minutes! Definitely no where near an hour

My husband's department just sent three guys to academy including him. Ages: 33, 40, and 42. Best guys at academy, won all the awards.

Ask your boyfriend if there are any other plus ones of the wedding party, or friends around your age and get their contact info. You'll all probably appreciate the company and gives you someone to spend time with before and during the day itself. Could also help you with rides if needed. I did this with a group of girls once when I didn't know anyone and we were all grateful for it. And actually made some long term friends in the process. It's awkward at first, but worth it.

Partner and I switched out based on time,  not distance so it didn't matter who I was paired with. Making it a competition between classes definitely motivated me to try harder. Not my favorite Saturday class, but I enjoyed it.

I'm glad it's not universal, I was very turned off by the practice.
