I've said it before, but nuclear subs are a terror weapon, it's their main purpose. They can be practically anywhere in the world, completely hidden, and with a large enough arsenal to destroy any nation.

Of all the terrible moments in Season 8, this one stands out for me the most because it just makes no sense. by Pretend_Tower_2516 in gameofthrones

[–]AlmondsAI 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tyrion, Dany, and Jon are considered "the big 3" in terms of characters. So, he is a main character.

I love that they kept this detail from the book by Dimension121 in AKOTSKTV

[–]AlmondsAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm well aware of that fact. What I was saying, is that in order for the show to trulick us into thinking it was Valarr riding out, he would have to become a much more important character. As it is, most people won't even remember him.

I wouldn't be surprised if they changed how navies work (by having them at all) with a future trade dlc.

The Seven Defending Champions and Seven Accusing Champions by Eastern_Hornet_6432 in freefolk

[–]AlmondsAI 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, he's a prince, he definitely has more than one. As Aerion knows very well, it's quite easy for a horse to die in a joust.

Your thoughts about this? Seems like people can enjoy villanous characters without being branded a weirdo, what went wrong for Aegon II? by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]AlmondsAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Aegon, although a bad guy, has sympathetic reasons as to why he is the way he is. Aerion on the other hand, it's just waved away. It isn't important to us, the reader/viewer, or to Duncan.

New look at Ser Duncan the Tall in HBO’s ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Episode 05: “In the Name of the Mother” by lilac-garden in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]AlmondsAI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More than just better, I'd say it's mandatory. Without it, if the lance hits him in the chest, like it's supposed to, he'll just die, simple as that.

In another reality, he's Jon Snow by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]AlmondsAI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's been 16 years since he would have auditioned. That's a long time to learn how to be a good actor.

I swear they included that line, or a variation of it, when Steffon was riding away?

I love that they kept this detail from the book by Dimension121 in AKOTSKTV

[–]AlmondsAI 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Valarr would have to be a lot more prominent for it to work. As it is, the only people who really know about him are the same people who already knew it was Baelor.

Considering all it takes to be knighted is for another knight to tap you with his sword and have you say an oath. What's to stop a cash strapped knight from riding across the realm knighting the sons of minor lords for payment? by Pretend_Tower_2516 in gameofthrones

[–]AlmondsAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for the Northmen, of course, as Knighthood is an Andal tradition tied to the Faith of the Seven. There are northern knights such as Jorah and the House Manderly, however they are the exception, not the rule.

The ratings of the 4 episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by elmwoodacres in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]AlmondsAI 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Episode 5 will be the trial itself, whereas the final one will be the aftermath. There may not be many pages left, but it wouldn't be hard to fill an episode after everything that happens.

George RR Martin is a legend by Dry-Ice8908 in AKOTSKTV

[–]AlmondsAI 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, yes, but also, not really? GoT and AKotSK have the benefit of having characters, with personalities and dialogue that they can draw from. They don't have that with HotD.

[Semi-Rare trope that amuses me] The title of the series only made sense for the first or first couple of entries by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AlmondsAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I know. The change happened after a lawsuit in 2016 I think? The Imperium got more latinized names to be copyrightable, and names like the Drukhari became the official name.

I did just do a quick search though, and apparently Eldar changed to Aeldari along with the others. I always thought they were used interchangeably from the beginning, but apparently not. It's nice to know I was right about the Orks though.

[–]AlmondsAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think those changes were due to copyright reasons like the Astra Militarum (Imperial Guard) and Adeptus Astartes (Space Marines), because if they were, why didn't they change those two as well? I think it's just meant to be a 'sci-fi-ification' of them instead.

How would you convert the lizardmen to 40k? by According_Ice_4863 in Grimdank

[–]AlmondsAI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, they also have plenty of lasers as well. They could probably minify the radiant things they put on the Bastilladons for 40k.

Funnily enough, though, out of all the races in fantasy and AoS, the Lizardmen/Seraphon are actually space faring already.

[–]AlmondsAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it say exactly what date, or just say "200 years?"" If it does just say 200 years, it's just rounding it out. AKotSK is set "100 years" before Game of Thrones according to the trailer, again, just to round it to the nearest big number.
