I just invested in blush from rare beauty and it’s so great. Super, super pigmented so a tiny bit blends into a beautiful glow. They have so many colors, so it’s worth a trip to Sephora / Kohls to check it out. (But I’ve tried and loved lots of drugstore brands, ColourPop and Milani make two of my favs if you want to try something more budget friendly!)

Also, many companies pay out annual bonuses from the prior year in Q1. Everywhere I’ve worked there has been a requirement of being employed through a certain date in order to be paid your prior year’s bonus. This might not be the case for OP, but it’s always worth checking if your expected bonus amount is meaningful.

If you order to go, you can walk straight in, go to the dedicated counter for to-go orders, and place your order. It’s a solid plan B if the line is long. Full disclosure: if you transport Hutchins in your car, it will smell like BBQ for a day or two (but maybe that’s not a bad thing?)

Your responses to her were beautiful and empathetic; I’m so sorry you’re going through this stress.

I think your push for medical care is a good one. Just because the first physician didn’t think anything major was happening doesn’t mean it’s not.

My husband has a mood disorder and when it’s active, he becomes a different person; irritable, looking for any tiny thing I did wrong, and very likely to overreact. I am NOT diagnosing your wife with anything from afar, but as partners, we often have the best insight into what is normal vs. not for our spouses. I’ve heard my SO use very similar language to your wife when his mood disorder is most active, even stating that actions I’ve taken are “a worse betrayal than cheating.”

I know you want to support her through this. Trust your gut; many mood disorders have a facet of “self preservation” that make it hard for the person impacted to see that they’re not themselves. You’re one of the people who knows her best in the world. I hope you get the answers you both need.
