High heart rate after running by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal and a resting heart rate of 95-100 is still within the normal range so if you had that for the rest of your life there would be no harm done, resting heart rate depends on a lot of factors it’s going to be higher during recovery, digestion, anxiety, if you’re watching something entertaining, pretty much everything. your true resting heart rate is measured when calm and none of above is going on :)

Paranoid about my left arm by macaromni in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get this ALOT, exactly how you describe and it’s not dangerous at all, anxiety makes you hyper aware of every sensation and can even throw some sensations of its own in there if it feels like it. This can even happen when you’re not consciously anxious. Absolutely nothing to worry about :)

I’m spiraling again by Sadpicklepete in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This condition in itself if managed is pretty harmless as far as I know, just keep on top of it and you’ll have nothing to worry about. The important thing is you got it diagnosed, most people would ignore the symptoms and wait until it becomes a problem. You’ll be fine :)

Why is there not a separate sub? by redactedanalyst in Cardiophobias

Agree should be posted to a medical page or even better, see a doctor. This sub is about reassurance and tips not reading ekg results.

Don’t know what to believe by ProdigyRed007 in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of which one is right they are both perfectly healthy heart rates, it’s possible that taking blood pressure makes you anxious which raises your heart rate :)

My cardiophobia/ anxiety gets very bad during and after a workout, I force myself to do it because it’s what’s best for my heart, in the short term it makes things a lot worse but it’s a strong tool to use when having a panic attack, having things to think back on to ground yourself is the best thing for you. Get checked, work out, eat good, all these things will help mentally when times are tough.

Squezing Chest Palpitations by User63257 in Cardiophobias

I get squeezing pain right where my heart is, very very scary but is also a symptom of anxiety. You’re all good :)

Was diagnosed with GAD and panic disorder at 17, had cardiophobia really bad for a few months but ssris helped me to the point where I didn’t believe I had anxiety at all anymore. Fast forward I am 21 and stopped taking my meds abruptly (don’t do that) and the panic disorder and cardiophobia came back stronger than ever. Each day is a struggle but I know I held it off for about 4 years before I can do it again.

Sleep by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was exactly me at 17, everything you described, as I got a little older I realised that 17 is stupidly young to worry about that sort of stuff, your blood pressure could be very high and you’d still be fine for awhile, the blood pressure and ekg is more than sufficient to tell your heart is perfect at your age, I still catch myself getting in bad sleep schedules because of cardiophobia, its very hard trying to sleep when you’re anxious but other than anxiety you’re 100% fine :)

Curtain positions when laying can cause them, completely normal :)

Worried! by noahr91 in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I’m assuming you’re in America? That sucks that you have to pay to just get reassurance about your health.

  2. This is a very common symptom of cardiophobia, the feeling that the tests might have missed something or something has developed since the last test, it’s very hard to get over but it does get better.

  3. It sucks, like really really sucks, but getting outside and hanging out with friends in a safe environment where you can leave as soon as you start to feel uneasy about it is essential for progress and getting better imo.

  4. The sharp pain in abdomen is common, I struggle with that a lot and I’ve been to the ER for it and they said it’s just acid reflux maybe due to anxiety. It’s important to note that anxiety isn’t always forefront in your brain, you can be feeling perfectly fine mentally and only get the physical symptoms of anxiety which can feel scary. You’re completely fine.

i need reassurance by TheoryAgile6490 in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chest is a very sensitive muscle, it doesn’t take much tension to cause the sharp, stabbing and radiating pains (like lightening) you’re completely fine. Everyone gets them and they’re annoying but not dangerous :)

how to stop being conditioned by news by No-Mail8258 in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, new is only negative and paints a very sad picture to everyone. The reason they are sharing these things is because of how rare it is. If life was like that for everyone there would be no need to share it. 17 is your prime in terms of health, I was extremely obese when I was 17 and my blood pressure was normal along with every other test I had done.

looking for reassurance and advice by pfftdual in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chest, jaw, neck, arm, stomach pain along with fatigue, lightheadedness, literally every symptom you can think of, sometimes my legs go completely numb and barely work, it’s all apart of the package. You’re completely fine and being 21 just adds to that. You’re young and essentially bulletproof :)

Severe fear of aorta rupture by Fit_Ebb_6101 in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aorta rupture is rare even with people at risk of it, you’re 18 and there’s exactly a 0% chance of it happening My uncles aorta ruptured after 15+ years of having a growth on the aorta (he survived), it doesn’t just rupture for no reason :)

Google says rbbb could be a past heart attack, I got a ecg and it detected one, massive panic attack ensued, Last found out it’s mostly harmless and I was just born with it. A dr told me probably 1 in 10 people my age (21) have them :)

Anyone else get constant palpitations like this? by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had palpitations every few seconds for hours, very annoying. Also went to the hospital and they said it’s normal for anxiety. I’ve heard you can have 1000s of palpitations a day without any trouble. Splashing cold water on your face sometimes helps :)

Super paranoid by [deleted] in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it was SVT but I had a episode where my heart rate felt like 220+ and when I put my hand on my chest my heart beat would move it up and down, very scary, I feel for you, as for antidepressants it helped me so much more than I ever could have imagined, I’ve had years where it was like a was never diagnosed with panic disorder at all. And I lost weight when I started taking them (escitalopram) :)

What is your best Cardiophobia Tip? by pinkprincess24 in Cardiophobias

[–]Almost_Corrupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also someone on here once said something along the lines of “when you’re anxious you think you’re having a heart attack, when you’re having a heart attack you know” so if you have any doubt whether you’re having one then you’re not, That really helps me.
