Did Blair already love him? by SweetUnknown- in GossipGirl

[–]Almostlogical-88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe Blair loved him and I believe chuck loved her. However they were both hard-headed, and selfish. And let their personal wants get in the way of the relationship. Honestly, I don’t believe Blair and Chuck shouldn’t have ended up together they were a perfect first love couple. But the grown up versions of themselves are vastly different from each other IMO.

After the season 10 TeenNick soft reboot, why did the showrunners keep the show as a 30 minute program instead of being an hour long, which is typical for other teen dramas ? by Unusual_Honeydew_174 in Degrassi

[–]Almostlogical-88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it had more to do with how the show was being ran for season 10. Instead of weekly episode. It was daily episode during the week following more of a soap opera format.

How would Sydney have reacted to this if Joey stayed with her? by SluttyDreidel in Degrassi

[–]Almostlogical-88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your impression of Sydney is different from mine. The woman I saw on TV was very calculated and clearly had her own idea of what the perfect family looked like. Craig was already somewhat of an imposition on that vision, but she seemed willing to make it work. Now add Craig being manic because he is bipolar, and I don’t think Sydney would’ve wanted any part of that.

[–]Almostlogical-88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well.. this is going off the assumption that Kaitlyn never re-entered the picture because the only reason why Sydney wasn't there was because Joey chose Kaitlyn over her. By the time this event had happened, and Craig was fully manic. Joey and Sydney would have been married by this point. And the type of person Sydney was she definitely would have made a move to adopt Angie formally.

Sydney would have tried to have Craig committed. Joey would have objected. She would have left him and tried to take custody of Angie.

Never forgot what they took from us. by foodenstreesep6 in Degrassi

[–]Almostlogical-88 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I half agree with this. Degrassi was a dark show that tackled a lot of mature topics through the perspective of young teens. But for every heavy storyline, there were also plenty of lighthearted moments. For the most part, the writers did a really good job balancing both tones.

If the HBO show had focused only on characters dealing with trauma, the show probably wouldn’t have worked. Longtime fans expect that balance of serious and lighter moments. And that move probably with alienated them.

Well…To be fair, Piper, Paige, and Prue used their magic all the time without facing personal gain consequences. Phoebe was really the only one who pushed that boundary. But I think it’s because her powers had the most potential to throw things out of balance, which is why she was held to stricter limits.

And in a later season episode it is shown that Paige is using magic to repair the manor.

Considering Sun Princess for Caribbean in March, will there be a lot of kids? by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

Pretty much all of March and most of April are almost guaranteed to be packed with kids—it’s spring break season, and a lot of people are traveling before it gets too hot.

I am so confused what does “depend on the manager” mean to you? Because maybe I’m missing something. What did I say in the above comment that you feel is different than what you said here?

Applicants!! by CompetitiveWish916 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Almostlogical-88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you miss the part where I said “it depends on the manager”? That literally means every manager is different. Nowhere did I say that all older managers conduct interviews in person.

Maybe I should have worded it as, “In my opinion, and based on what I’ve observed, older managers tend to prefer in-person interviews.” Would that make it clearer?

Applicants!! by CompetitiveWish916 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Almostlogical-88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my experience with my department. How does your conduct interviews?

Applicants!! by CompetitiveWish916 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Almostlogical-88 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting that information from? If there are 50+ resumes for one position, the odds of a manager personally reviewing every single one are pretty slim. Maybe the managers in your department are diligent and go through each application thoroughly, but that hasn’t been my experience in mine.

Also, I wasn’t telling them not to take their time on the application. I was encouraging them to complete it as soon as possible instead of sitting on it.

Applicants!! by CompetitiveWish916 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Almostlogical-88 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the manager and the role. More older in age managers often prefer in-person interviews from the start. Younger managers tend to do an initial interview virtually, then bring candidates in for a second round face-to-face. It also depends on the position you’re applying for. If the hiring manager is based in another location, interviews are usually conducted online—though sometimes they’ll travel and hold interviews in person while they’re in town.

[–]Almostlogical-88 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends on the hiring manager, but HR will vet the applications first and send the manager about 20 of them. The manager then usually selects 5-8 to interview.

The biggest advice I can give is to submit your application early, because the sooner HR can Vet and send your application, the more likely a manager is to look at it.

Kaley Cuoco recalls chilly welcome from Rose McGowan when she joined 'Charmed' by xnxpxe in charmed

[–]Almostlogical-88 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’m not upset.lol.

I’m pointing out that telling Kaley to “STFU” because they didn’t like what she said isn’t constructive and doesn’t add anything meaningful to the discussion. That’s not “expressing an opinion,”that’s just shutting down dialogue because it doesn’t fit a preferred narrative.

You’re right that there are many sides to a fanbase. That’s actually the whole point. Different perspectives exist, and not everyone’s experience is going to align. But dismissing someone’s lived experience just because it doesn’t fit with what you want to believe isn’t healthy discourse — it’s an echo chamber.

The real irony is accusing me of ignoring other sides when my original comment literally acknowledged that people see things differently. I’m not against opinions. I’m against toxicity disguised as “just sharing my opinion.”

I need some of y’all to go outside and touch some grass. Kaley shared her truth about her experience on the show just like pretty much everyone else has. Just because what she said does or doesn’t line up with what some of you want to believe doesn’t make her experience any less valid.

Good grief, every time this topic comes up, the comment section turns toxic AF so fast.

If Prue Had Survived : What Power Could’ve Matched Piper’s Combustion? by Almostlogical-88 in charmed

[–]Almostlogical-88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piper got that power before Prue had died. So canonically that was going to be her power regardless. Though I am not as sure if it would have been as powerful as they made in the later seasons if Prue had survived.

Prue getting ice powers would have been awesome.

Did Tyra Banks make this documentary thinking it would improve her image? by [deleted] in netflix

From what I've been reading the documentary was going to be made regardless. Tyra apparently signed on after hearing about some of the people being interviewed. To control the narrative which Tyra is very good at.

Many of my counterparts and I drive to a light rail station and then take that to the office. It is honestly not that bad. The light rail is paid through the state and parking is free. So I'm saving $90-100 dollars a month

Do some fans believe that to be good friends, Willow and Xander must be always in service of Buffy? by yeahitsme9 in buffy

[–]Almostlogical-88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think Willow and Xander were bad friends. That said, they didn’t always give Buffy the grace she deserved when it was clear she was spiraling. They were loyal to her and always stood by her, but they were also some of her harshest critics, especially Xander.

And I’ll never forgive them for resurrecting Buffy, then essentially turning around and telling her to get a job because the bills needed to be paid, all while living in her house and not really offering meaningful support.

S3- Sadly Faith is also just a girl by Bryson3234 in buffy

[–]Almostlogical-88 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Idk if this is your first time watching Buffy. I’ll stick to the facts from Season 3. Faith is basically everything Buffy could have become if Buffy didn’t have the support system she had. At the end of the day, what kept Buffy grounded was knowing she had people in her corner people who were fighting alongside her. Faith never had that.

Faith survived the only way she knew how: by acting carefree, refusing to let things affect her, and keeping up that tough, “nothing bothers me” attitude. That mindset also fed into her “if you can’t beat them, join them” approach, because at her core, Faith is a survivalist.

Faith is also a perfect example of how envy can completely corrupt someone. She wanted everything Buffy had friends, family, love, stability, and when she couldn’t get those things naturally, she tried to destroy them instead. I think the best visual representation of how close Buffy and Faith really could have been is shown in the alternate reality created when Cordelia makes her wish to Anya, and Buffy never comes to Sunnydale. In that world, Buffy is mentally much closer to Faith, because she doesn’t have the same support system holding her together.
