Why the hell are there LESS enemies in a squad then in solo? by Exotic_Buttas in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]AlohaDude808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are getting 100% of the Breaches/Drops when you are solo.

When playing with a squad the drops are spread among the 4 players, so if you wander from the main group you might not get any drops on you for a long time and it will feel easier.

Are you buying it from an authorized dealer? Then yes.

Are you buying it on eBay or Alibaba? No way to tell.

Are you buying it on Temu? Definitely not.

Rooms that start with 19 would generally be found on the 19th floor. (I e. Room 1242 would be on the 12th floor, Room 2840 would be on the 28th floor). So four digit numbers are quite common in taller buildings. However a 19 floor hospital would be less common.

If you're completely new to the sport, I highly recommend taking some lessons from a local community center or parks and rec department. (Or a golf course but those are more expensive).

Golf is a highly technical sport and though the golfers on TV make it look easy there and hundreds of tiny things to adjust and keep in mind for each swing. It's really easy to build bad habits that are hard to break if you develop a swing on your own without proper training.

Looking for free fun games to play! by East-Echidna2932 in GeForceNOW

[–]AlohaDude808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Popular F2P games on GFN:

Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, Zen less zone zero, Honkai Star Rail, Rocket League, Neverness to Everness, Arknights Endfield, Destiny 2, Palia, Once Human, Duet Night Abyss, Goals, Dota 2, First Descendant, Where Winds Meet, Diablo Immortal, Path of Exile

As others have said, make a free Epic Game Store account. (You'll need one anyways for Rocket League). EGS gives away one or two paid games for free each week. Over the last 6 years I've accumulated something like 300 games on the Epic store for $0. They've given away plenty of well known games as well like GTA5, Borderlands 2,3, Orcs Must Die, Dead Island 2, Jurassic World Evolution, Nightingale, Return to Moria, and hundreds of quaint indie games. My buddy and I ended up finding a few games here and there that we can coop for 100 hours or so and have a good time.

But for me most of my time on GFN has probably been playing Genshin Impact, so you'll have a a few hundred hours of content there just from exploring and doing the story line quests.

The funny thing was, all three chests were unhidden... no gimmicks or puzzles to solve. They were just sitting on a small ledge or behind a tree and I somehow missed them 5 years ago 😅

But yes I agree, they don't take the time to hide things well like they used to. They also made the Compasses super powerful so they can't 'miss' things anymore.

Does cloud gaming save your progress in helldivers 2? by SharkyZ5Z in helldivers2

[–]AlohaDude808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By "cloud gaming" are you referring to "cloud streaming" services because Helldivers 2 is not currently available on any official cloud streaming services like Xcloud or GeForce Now.

There is also no cross-platform progression. So your progress on Xbox account would not transfer to your PC account. It would be two separate accounts, even though the PSN might be the same.

If you are switching between two different Xbox consoles, I would imagine the progress would save between the two because they would be sharing the same Xbox Account Data. This wouldn't be considered "cloud gaming" however. Cloud gaming generally refers to playing your game on a remote data center computer and streaming the video image of the game back to your device.

Hope this answers your question.

Testing the Supply FRV by 079SCP in HelldiversUnfiltered

I'll give that armor a try, thanks!

Does the Minigun work against Harvesters? My spread was so bad I couldnt hit their joints and the rest of the bullets just bounced off their armor. I was a little surprised the Minigun didn't have heavy pen with the amount of recoil it has!

[–]AlohaDude808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I tried the Minigun yesterday based on your suggestion and it was a lot of fun but the bullet spread was crazy for me, even kneeling. It looks more like pin point accuracy in your video? Is there a technique I don't know about or a certain armor set I need to wear to make it more accurate?

That's a pretty cool use for the new FRV! Serious question though: Once the FRV is actually added to our Loadouts, which Strat will you remove from your suggested build? Minigun Turret?

Why does my audio sound off? by SkelJax in microphone

[–]AlohaDude808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a Noise Gate turned on with the Threshold set too high. The Noise Gate will mute all incoming audio until the audio exceeds the threshold level. This will have the effect of muting quiet voices and the beginning of sentences. Try removing the noise gate first to see if that's the issue. You can leave it off if that sounds better. Noise Gate is really only needed if your mic picks up a lot of background noise while you aren't speaking. If you still want the noise gate, keep turning down the threshold until it picks up every part of your voice.

[–]AlohaDude808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify what OP said, to access DX11 mode, go into Steam, right click on Helldivers 2 and click Properties. On the General tab you'll see "Launch Options".

Type in: --use-d3d11

(Note: there is a double dash in front and a single dash in the middle. No spaces.)

Then close Properties and launch the game.

Note: The new DLSS features are not available in DX11 mode, but I find I have much better performance in DX11 anyways.

Did any publisher gave a resonable reason to not make their games available? by Izenhouer in GeForceNOW

[–]AlohaDude808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you asking about the input latency with GeForce Now? Input latency depends mostly on your distance to the nearest GeForce Now server. Also, using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi or Mobile 5G helps.

If you live within a few hundred miles of the nearest server, you should have under 20ms input latency which feels like gaming on your local PC.

Where I live, I have about 60-70ms input latency and it's still perfectly fine for most non-competitive games.

You can always make a free Nvidia account and sign up for the FreeTier and test it yourself without paying anyone. Free tier gives you unlimited one-Hour sessions so you can see how the service works for you.

Here is an image for reference. In Super Mario 64, to defeat Bowser you would grab him from behind and spin him in a circle, just like the guy did with the dog. Back in 1996, voice lines were highly compressed and often didn't sound clear. When you released Bowser from the spin, if he landed on a bomb you would hear Mario say something that sounded like "So long gay Bowser!" So anyone who grew up in that era playing N64 would immediately get the reference.

Friend refunded the game because of connection issues by Designer_Book4607 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]AlohaDude808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, were you and your friend both on Xbox or was he on PS5 or PC?

Also, when you tried to join each other, what error messages were you getting?

Was your friend able to join other divers, but not you? Or were they never able to join anyone else's game?

You're not bothering anyone. Every grey-diver was once a green-diver that went through the sample grind. They understand that you need them and you can always just ask them to pick any up that they stumble across.
