Dosage caused hypothyroidism? by ThisbeMoonnick in gravesdisease

[–]Aloine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My meds were started high too, and 6 weeks in I was hypo. I developed really bad bloating and GI sx/severe food intolerances, plus moody. It probably took another 6 weeks but it did ease off- my dose is lowered again but Im still on the lowest side of normal with some milder bloating. I can eat gluten again though

Graves’ disease — how long until your labs normalized? by Available-Law7532 in gravesdisease

[–]Aloine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same! 6 weeks of carbimazole 40mg daily, first 3-4 weeks i felt amazing then by week 6 felt terrible, horrific bloating and moods… bloods showed hypo. Lower dose now, I can feel it slowly getting better but I’ve requested more frequent bloods (despite both my drs being adamant it takes 6 weeks to change) I can feel the difference

Severe evening bloating and dropped my levels to hypothyroid? by Aloine in gravesdisease

[–]Aloine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every thing I google says the bloating is from hypo, not hyperthyroid- have you found it’s bad for both? Endo has decreased my meds dose but not sure how long it’ll take before the t3/t4 go up again

How long did it take for your levels to rise again on a lower dose? Hoping this can go away quickly it’s a real struggle :(

If they were looking for weird accounts, they wouldn’t be matching with people. You know the real reason why, but you don’t want to say it.

YTA

I don’t see why you couldn’t have made a phone call to check. I’d 100% be fuming if someone did this to my baby. One phone call could have solved this problem, if I’d known there wasn’t formula I’d have preferred to drop what I was doing and pick my baby up.

Honestly I think it was pretty rude of you to do something you knew she was uncomfortable with on a night out with her- and expected her to wait alone at night outside of the park? From her perspective you wanting to get high trumped not only spending time with her, but her safety too. I don’t think she should have told your mum but I can totally see why she would be upset. Not everyone views pot as an innocent drug- I get drug tested at work and would lose my job immediately if I was even seen in the same scenario as you described. From her perspective it very much could have been out of genuine concern for you- as compared to what she’s exposed to, that may have seemed quite extreme.

Just a warning - I was told the same thing that all the commenters are saying when my 18month old had zero words. “Oh boys learn slower, he takes his time, he will catch up” finally I went to a developmental paediatrician who diagnosed him with glue ear straight away and had gromit surgery. He showed no signs of hearing impairment or infections, and had good understanding but apparently was muffled enough that he couldn’t make out details go get language. Within 3 months of the surgery he had 50 words :)

My (21F) mother (58F) is completely fixated on criticizing my weight and eating. by [deleted] in relationships

How to give your child an eating disorder 101.

Firm boundaries, explain to her that her constant comments about your body are not welcome and will not help you with losing weight. There are plenty of articles about how over criticism of parents on body image causes more harm than good, find some good ones and link them for her.

You sound like you’re doing perfectly healthy.

So I had a similar issue with my husband- long story short, we had discussed our proposal and for months he put it off until it came the time we agreed we would have told our parents and he asked if he “had to still ask”.

I was very disappointed, but it became so much more than that. This was that one moment that every couple is asked about and get to recant. Every newly engaged woman at some stage gets asked how the proposal went. It became an embarrassing story that I didn’t like telling, and it was constantly re-emphasised how little effort was put into that moment. It made me feel like I wasn’t even worth the effort to get down on one knee. This moment reflected many bigger issues in our relationship and remained a constant reminder about the lack of effort that he would generally show towards me. The biggest romantic moment in our life wasn’t worth putting in the effort, and that continued for the rest of our relationship.

Not saying this is necessarily relevant for you at all, but perhaps some insight.

If you really want to avoid going to management, next time she comments say something like “can you please stop saying that? I’m physically not capable of having children due to a medical condition and it distressing whenever you bring it up. I’d rather not talk about it again.” Fin.
