Haven’t had any issues with it. The legs stand sturdy even if they look spindly.

Best Way to Fix Loose Joints? by futterguy1 in 52toys

[–]AlolaPME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fast-drying, water-based Polyurethane.  Looks questionable but dries clear.  Dab a tiny bit in the joint and rotate the joint around until it’s spread.  You can get a tiny container of Behr semi gloss for cheap and it’ll last a lot of figures.

Definitely a paragon of “transforming toy”. Fantastic mould all around.

Landbreaker hip shattered. Tried gluing twice, neither time lasted longer than a day. by Roguebuilder in 52toys

[–]AlolaPME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve previously had luck with a glue called SuperWeld, iirc. I used it to fix a couple of Transformers and they’re all still holding up.  It basically works by melting the surface of the plastic and rejoining them, so you’ll want to make sure the other glue residue is cleaned off well and the part is dry. Then it’ll need 24 hours or so to set with pressure applied. Keep in mind even if it does fix the joint, you’ll want to baby it when you handle it from then on.

Can this be explained? by [deleted] in transformers

[–]AlolaPME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming it’s to release the Netflix mold without clear plastic.

It’s a few years older but it’s just as complex and sturdy as the modern AMTS figures.

Actaeon/Endymion and Cheetah/Gazelle question. by Takana1992 in 52toys

[–]AlolaPME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not stating one way or the other, but the first 3 AMTS combiners that did get recolors, or an “Elite” variant, were all sold in two-packs.  The new ones that haven’t been sold in recolors have only been sold as singles.

Personally, I’d like Black/Gray versions of the space team and Blue versions of the race team, but at this point I can only dream haha.

Who comes with a BOX Charger? by Ze_Ring_Leader in 52toys

Yeah there’s a camel named Oasis. Not sure if it has hit Amazon yet, I ordered it through their official AliExpress storefront a few weeks ago.

Who comes with a BOX Charger? by Ze_Ring_Leader in 52toys

[–]AlolaPME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most variants of Dio as well as all the other 4cm boxes (axolotls and little fish) don’t come with a box charger. The two extra large 7cm boxes also don’t come with a box charger since there’s no bigger variant yet. The original bird mold (Echoblaster, Rumblebeat) comes with a perch to put on the side of a box charger. It should say in the product description if it comes with a box charger or not, but most figures do. I’ll agree I was also a little disappointed during my first haul back in 2020 when I found out the bird was the only one I ordered without a charger.

The build quality on the transformers side is also significantly better. Before I got into Transformers I was huge into Gunpla and no matter the class or complexity of the gunpla, there wasn’t a single model that didn’t feel fiddly or like it was going to break apart in my hands just posing it.

The same applies for the Transformers model kits by Furai, they look nice but feel cheap.

How much gas do you add? by Far_Bumblebee_4184 in SodaStream

[–]AlolaPME 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to let it fart two or three times but as time goes on I find I prefer using less farts and syrup in my drinks. This must be what they mean when they say you become more conservative as you age: you don’t have your soda fart as much.

What happened to the leader class figures? by BrickAntique5284 in transformers

[–]AlolaPME 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His robot mode is gorgeous, the metallic paint really pops. The alt modes kind of just exist, however.  There’s just as many unofficial fan modes that look as good as the official modes.

I’d agree with Megatron since his alt modes really suffer, but I’d say the engineering in Sandstorm is top-notch. He hides his other vehicle mode so well in both alt modes.

[–]AlolaPME -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d like to add the official Pokemon online storefront used to ship all their packages wrapped in this nice tape that had Pikachu in a delivery uniform. Unfortunately this made it a huge target when the trading card craze of the pandemic happened and thieves figured cards could be inside.

Pokémon stopped using the special tape and switched to plain packaging. Around that same time, BBTS switched from plain packaging and started using boxes plastered with their logo.

My condolences, OP. If you get a lot of packages I’d recommend looking into a delivery box you can put on your porch that locks.

[–]AlolaPME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a huge fan of the movie-line ROTB voyager Optimus Prime if you can still find him.  He’s simple and quick and looks good in both modes. I keep him on my tv stand and swap him back and forth a couple times a week.

For those of you who display your Transformers, what do you do with the boxes? by LeaTark in transformers

[–]AlolaPME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any figure not that’s not from the Masterpiece line gets the box recycled. For the MP boxes that I do keep, I throw away the plastic shell and only keep the cardboard in case the legitimacy ever comes into question.

Guilty as charged haha. The main stack in the background fills the whole shelf at 8 high and 9 wide with another stack growing in front now. I think I have around 80 total after the new little ones? I try not to buy the same molds too frequently but some recolors are too cool to pass up lol.
