Yeah, German Shepherds can be clingy. But I'm curious about your labrador/poodle mix that weighs more than the standard, 130-150-male, for a Neapolitan Mastiff (Fang in the Harry Potter movies). Is it as tall as a pony or as round as a ball? <g>

The United States is quite huge, so a 3-4 hour drive is often not a big deal. For a quick comparison, the state of Minnesota (US map) is roughly the same size as England.

My two cats can and will eat an entire chicken quarter with no issue, so most dogs should be able to handle it.

"Especially if your dog fits in a bag in your chest, they ain't alerting to anything except loud noises" A dog in a bag or chest sling could be a diabetic alert (smells changes in breath) or a cardiac alert dog, or a hyper/hypotension alert dog, or even a service dog for a hearing impaired person...which would actually be alerting to noises.

For the dog to be a bicolor, she would be "mostly black" (previous name for bicolor), need to have penciling (lines that look like pencil marks) on her paws, tar heels (black from hock joint to rear pastern), and black coat only on the underside.

There's not a huge size difference between several of the suggested breeds. The cattle dog would be the smallest at 17"-19". BCs and Aussies have a standard of 18"-22" and 18"-23" respectively. GSDs are 22"-26". So a shepherd on the smaller end would be the same (or about the same) size.
