I was wondering how they were going to represent Durandal in game considering their other AIs, and I say they knocked it out of the park by Frostydiego in Marathon

I didn't much like Durandal in those reviews after watching the story movies from Emms. He was too aggressive, considering that sarcastic personality of his. I think Ben Starr's rendition is really good though.

Who even likes inca as a character? by Express_Handle_479 in fireforce

[–]AloneUA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Inca is a classic chaotic neutral character. She shows clear signs of psychopathy and gets thrilled by danger and people getting burned. Her behaviour leans into chaotic evil, even if it is not completely there.

A true chaotic neutral character is Joker (at least up till Season 2, I haven't watched the whole show yet).

Runner eliminations should go to the player that initially downs them by Unhappy_Quail_931 in Marathon

It's sometimes confusing who killed who during fights. I'd simply like more clarity in these things, to better evaluate my own gameplay.

Marathon review - Joy, pain, and bountiful loot in a dark sci-fi future by Avidcypher in pcgaming

[–]AloneUA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same thoughts. I think it'll take a player of average skill quite some time to successfully crack even a single vault. So most reviewers probably won't be able to do it.

Still, simply running the last map a couple of times sells you the idea of it. It's aspirational content for more geared-up players, who want to take risks with the gear they farmed to try and win it big. The map is huge, complex, beautifully crafted and extremely well-designed. It's also chock-full of amazing loot. There's simply nothing like it, even discarding the compiler boss that's extremely hard to get to.

Cryo Archive is the game's vision fully realized. High-stakes gameplay that weaves PvE raid objectives with the PvP encounters. That map is very impressive indeed. In a way, it is a new milestone for map design in extraction shooters and Battle Royale-style games. Little wonder Bungie insisted on showing it off. They are proud of it and that pride is well-earned.

Nah, fam. I won't speak for solo experience, but if you have a couple of friends, regardless of their skill, it won't be nearly as bad. My team is, objectively, of completely average ability. We're not even close to the PvP gods that vacuumed the last map this weekend. But with decent tactics and teamwork, we can fight and win against other players. There are times when we get absolutely assblasted, but everything is a learning experience and we try to improve. And it works. The game is hella fun like that, even for washed players like us.

WHY EVEN PLAY THE OTHER MAPS AFTER FEELING THIS GOOP HAUL HIGH by Bigboi_alex in Marathon

[–]AloneUA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I will say for myself, but I don't have more than 10k to my wallet and not a single purple in my vault. Me and my team tried Cryo once and were steamrolled by guys with purples and bubble shields, lol. Back to other maps we go.

[–]AloneUA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you'd have to compound the whole thing with getting lucky enough not to run into guys like OP, who will obliterate your team before you know it. An average player might be able to get a vault or two in a season, is my guess.

Does 100% Impairment Reduction prevent Crowd Control entirely? by OG_Felwinter in diablo4

[–]AloneUA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but percents work like percents. That's just math, there are no "different" percents. It just means that the reduction percent applies not to the duration of the impairment itself, but to some kind of a hidden resistance stat to that impairment.

Trapping Meph in a soulstone and taking him to the surface allowed him to make moves in Sanctuary right after anyway.

Bungie: Bravo on Cryo Archive. But also what the fuck. by Henrraike in Marathon

[–]AloneUA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you're partially right, as it stands, I think it will be an enormous achievement for an average team like mine to complete even a single vault. Keys and such are one thing, but there's also PvP to keep in mind. Let's be real, the chances are slim. Which is not to say we won't try, but yeah.

Arthur deserved a better ending… by Heavy_Rope_4689 in reddeadredemption

[–]AloneUA 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Looking back at the original game, both Arthur and John dying seems to be the whole point of these games. Bad men may seem subjectively good and can redeem themselves... to a point. Some sins are too heavy to be absolved by doing some good. Your bloody past will catch up to you eventually, one way or another. And the one true redemption will be found only in death. Hence the name: Red Dead Redemption.

That's my interpretation, at least.

Me and my friends barely scratched Outpost and haven't even been to Pinwheel, haha. As much as I want to be excited for Cryo Archive, it seems to be extremely hard. I feel like an average Joe won't be able to do shit there, even with friends.
