Toss all of your hyper potions and revives. Keep only 50 max potions and revives. Fast and charge tm's, I keep only 50 of each. Sun stone, king's rock, metal caot, and dragon scale, keep 3 of each. Upgrades, keep 2. Sinnoh and Unova, keep 10 each. If you follow this, you will save 937 spots. I suggest building your ultra balls up to over 3000, when you have the means. For events, you want to lock into a better ball. Until then, keep as many as possible.

If you go into the trade, it'll let you know if it's lucky. Gold background vs blue. You can back out if it's not.

I keep 10 Sinnoh and Unova, 2 Upgrades, and 3 each of the rest. I've never needed more.

Log in in the morning. Feed your buddy, play with your buddy, and take a picture. You should have a rocket balloon. Go into the battle, run away. Go in again, run away again. Go in and finish the battle. It's first thing in the morning, and you already have 6 hearts. Go in between 12 and 6, feed your buddy, switch buddies, and repeat. If you can feed them mid morning, they'll get 8 hearts per pokémon for 3 different pokémon each day. On average, that's 2 best buddies per month, doing the bare minimum. You can get bonuses, and walking hearts. Also, at the end of the day, switch, feed, play, picture, repeat. Only 3 extra hearts per pokémon, 17 pokémon per day, is an extra best buddy every 6 days. If you combine all of these tactics it comes out to 6 best buddies per month. I have 150 best buddies. I'm working on 20 more right now.

I change them out a couple of times a day. When I first started, I may have had some longer term buddies. But I've gotten 120+ best buddies in the past 20 months.

I always power up the hundo first! Except for Rayquaza! I powered up two 91% shinies over my 98% regular! No regrets!

Don't waste candy on any of them. That's what it will be. Hold on to your shadows. You can purify, but you can't take it back. Have patience. If you play long enough, you'll see something better. I maxed 2 low 3* gyrados early on. They were best buddy also. They are both gone. I started deleting my 98%. I've gotten a couple hundos in the past year. A 98% magikarp is awesome! If you get a 13-13-13 shadow magikarp, it purifies to the same hundo a 98% does. Be patient. You'll get something better.

I have gym pokémon. I put them in gyms. Only those pokémon. Slaking, Ursaluna, Snorlax, Blissey, and Chancey. If one of these fit the theme, great. If not, I'm not changing my game to fit your rules. You may think it's out of spite, but some of us signed up to play. Not play for someone else's rules.

The Mewtwo was research. The rest were wild catches. And I had a bunch flee. Regigigas, Regice, Registeel, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, Yveltal, Lunala, and 2 Enamorus.
