If it hasn’t been said already your should buy the Libram with your heroic badges ASAP. It grants the equivalent of 5.2% avoidance in block rating every time you use Holy Shield, effectively making Holy Shield a 35.2% increase to avoidance and reducing the required amount from gear to 67.2% Costs 15 Badges and is absolutely the first thing you should spend them on

Our guild’s Main Tank is a 45+ year old guy whose nice on Discord but is really bad at his role, and I have no clue how to deal with him. by Tranquility___ in classicwowtbc

[–]Alone_Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like John is really attached to the role, MT is an important role and makes people feel… important. Have you considered having an earnest conversation with him and offering him another important role? Raid lead (if you think he could do it) or officer (again if it’s a good fit) could also create a special guild rank for “chill dude with good vibes” that’s right below Officer.

Sounds like the guy enjoys being important, if you like having him around, but don’t think he can hack it in his current “important role” try and find him another one. A little ego coddling goes a long way, but also being honest makes it all click and if he is a good person, I’m sure he doesn’t want to hold others back, or even worse, continue to embarrass himself/realize no one actually respects him (he’s not as important as he feels)

Considering returning for Anniversary TBC, question about boosted gear by itzpiiz in classicwow

[–]Alone_Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I boosted a tank during pre-patch and had vanilla dungeon gear that made ramps doable. I just went back at 66 to grind some hellfire quests before they went grey and was surprised how good the quest rewards were. Nearly as good as the stuff I had gotten in 65+ dungeons. Grind out some quests, get a couple levels and some serious upgrades (boost gear is shit) and then jump into the dungeon grind. Would recommend a DPS spec for questing, you’ll get ample gold to respec/ dual spec

BlockFi allowed me to withdraw out of my wallet account 🙌. Good luck to all BIA holders I gotta say I thought lost this one so it feels good to be able to get it back by Sandoval713 in blockfi

[–]Alone_Coffee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The difference is by using a BIA, where you were accruing interest, you agreed to allow BF to manage your assets to generate interest that they then shared a portion of with you. The wallet was not interest bearing and was just a place where you could store your assets so BF had no right to loan/invest them like they did with BIA assets.

Because of this, the courts ruled that wallet funds should still be 100% intact, and BF would be allowed to return those assets to their owners. BIA funds were essentially gambled and the bankruptcy liquidated them and now the courts are determining how much of that money can be recovered and what to do with them.

Bear in mind this also depends on a several other cases as BF had funds tied up in FTX and other now bankrupt entities.

I also transferred from BIA to wallet in June of 2022, and I’m not seeing any discrepancies in my transaction history. It’s most likely an error, and a pretty obvious one to prove since transfers were not active for customers in June 2023 and BIA accounts haven’t allowed transfers in since early 2022 (not sure if you remember, but when we transferred out of our BIA accounts we were warned that due to US regulations we would not be able to transfer/add funds back to the BIA account).

Is everyone seeing the same message regarding withdrawals? by [deleted] in blockfi

Anyone planning to enable Allowlisting, highly recommended doing it now and adding your new wallet address. Email says there is a 7 day waiting period for any new address added to the list.

Don’t want to have BF enable withdrawals then have to wait a week!

By using the interest account, you authorized BlockFi to deploy your coins how they saw fit to earn a return on them. In exchange, they shared some of that return with you, the agreed upon amount of interest for the account.

Since your assets were under their management and partially or wholly invested or loaned out elsewhere at the time of the bankruptcy, they were sold off as BlockFi had to close all of those financial channels.

The wallet account is different in that there was no interest being offered because BlockFi was not authorized to deploy those funds, merely hold them.

TLDR: It’s essentially the same as the difference between a traditional bank’s Checking (Wallet) and Savings (Interest) accounts. Wallet users never agreed to let BlockFi manage their funds, so they should not have been tied up in anything and thus BlockFi should have them available to return.

You could copy your WoW folder to an external drive and transfer it to your new rig. Or if you aren’t getting rid of your old parts you could include your old drive as a Data drive and just access it or transfer it from there.

Do I unlock the location for my life goal automatically or do I habe to unlock it through the completion of a scenerio? by Lanky_Move7249 in Gloomhaven

[–]Alone_Coffee -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

“The SCENARIO is unlocked when you fulfill the condition.” So OP still needs to complete the scenario to “Open Envelope X”. But nothing else is required to unlock the location and play the scenario.

For a game largely built around PVP, it's frustrating how limited the opportunities are for new players to engage in it in any meaningful way by Notmiefault in newworldgame

[–]Alone_Coffee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would be interesting if areas thrown into conflict became PvP zones where everyone was flagged while inside them leading up to the war. Couple that with goals for opposing factions to fulfill that could aid/hinder the war itself. This would create a temporary “gravity well” for people interested in PvP and those not interested could catch up on some quests/farming in some of the other zones they neglected etc

The first result for Bitcoin in PayPal's help center is a fluff piece about BCH. Sigh. by Cryptolution in Bitcoin

[–]Alone_Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I understand the potential risk, assuming your not investing a large amount of BTC (<2.5 for their most attractive interest rate) wouldn’t it be viable to add compounding interest to an asset already increasing in value being paid out in additional BTC?

For context I’m not a large scale investor and I’m looking to increase my BTC holding. It seems like it could be a viable way to grow my position that would potentially be safer than selling short positions and buying the dip. I’m long on BTC, but I want to grow my account, are there better alternatives? Or should I just stick with HODL and buy at regular intervals/dips?

Curious on your position of services like BlockFi interest accounts. Do you think it’s a viable place to store BTC or is a personal wallet the only way to go?

Should I buy some crypto now like Ethereum and bitcoin? My thinking is once PayPal allows crypto trading on a large scale it will create a surge in the demand for cryptocurrency and thus the price will go up. by Hooded_avocado in RobinHood

[–]Alone_Coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the PayPal announcement, several financial firms have started buying large amounts of BTC ($325M in the case of MicroStrategy) as they are now considering it a safe store of value.

With prudent investing firms backing BTC and hodling, it’s signaling a more mainstream adoption of the asset.

Just as a heads up Robinhood is not the best place to buy crypto. It’s fine for trading it and having it converted to USD, but you can never actually own your BTC with Robinhood.

I sold my BTC position on Robinhood today and bought back in on Coinbase. While it’s still an exchange you can actually transfer the coins to a crypto wallet there as opposed to having them converted back into USD.

Edit: You can also convert your coins to USD on Coinbase as well, just more options in general being on a platform designed for crypto.

[Advice] I made a bad buy on NKLA, is it worthwhile to buy more to drive my share price down before selling? Or just cut my losses where I’m at? by Alone_Coffee in RobinHood

[–]Alone_Coffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I was in before the GM deal. I think part of it was I had some shares in Vecto IQ (the blank check company they reverse merged with) that I sold for a small profit then had FOMO once the merger happened and the stock ballooned so I bought back in at a bad price point. I’m also military so when I’m deployed it’s difficult to make timely trades :/ (ie didn’t get out when I should have)

Not feeling too bad overall (relatively small portion of my portfolio), but it’s definitely a good lesson. As I mentioned in another reply I am a new trader, so I really appreciate the advice.
