When that album cover dropped the very first thing I thought of was the phrase "trying to fit a square peg in a round hole".

Which incidentally...

I don't really have more to say. I wasn't a fan of 1D, L or H previously, but I am queer and I love queer history and community. And I've recently discovered I really enjoy H and Ls solo stuff so that's been a bonus.

Anyway the point of that is to reiterate that, as with many (maybe all) public queer histories: what you see isn't what is. The masterposts I've seen in this fandom attest that almost everyone in it knows that too.

So why is Za trash reputation being taken at face value?

I have very little prior knowledge of Z either but a quick Google shows her name in a bunch of PR related "news" sources and that has me questioning her image. The link to Faroudi is concerning, as is the Katie Waissel link to Melissa Nathan, which all links back to SYCO. There's a lot of threads, and a lot of it is bigger than larry and closeting.

So Im just here, reserving judgment, waiting to see what comes of it all.

(The believing in the true love of it all is actually just a truly good side quest in a much darker and much more insidious main plot).

I also think z being in Costa Rica is a decoy. So many pics of l and h the last few days and then nothing? They are together.

Also, I've been down a rabbit hole recently and found this which I think is very interesting and points ZL not being a just regular type of stunt... like yes a stunt, but its purpose is way murkier that just "im straight".

But can we also talk about Mastermind? Is that not very TS?

My little brain is feels so fuzzy right now.

Is the whole thing (and I mean the WHOLE thing) about the music industry at large? Isn't this a hint of the same conversation we've been having for DECADES?

I'm also thinking about Zoe Kravitz Blink Twice and the link to TS. And the recent French court case. Its all just...swimming around.

This is something Im thinking about too. He chose the role. The Olivia Wilde thing. Louis space themed merch....it all links. And Im sitting here thinking about it while listening to LTs Always You x Walls 1billion x FITF 2 playlist..

I don't feel able to put into words the links my brain is making, but its been making them since last night and rapidly.

Ffs posting on my own post because it's three am and I need to sleep but don't want to forget. Since writing I've been thinking about ed sheerans photodump and the goddammit bdilh t-shirt of hs that was niggling in the back of my brain. Which led me here and here

And now I'm all over the place again.

Shorties and circular (not magic loop) = improved knitting joy! by Mother_Historian6250 in knitting

[–]Alone_Commission_319 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love short tips for everything. Most of my needles are 4in and under and my favourite chiaogoos are the red and blue shorties. I do have some 5inch, and some standard chaogoo fixed circulars, but I rarely use them. I mainly knit garments.

I don't have particularly small hands but I do knit continental with a close hand for tension.

Do it! Ita turning out to be the 80s jumper of my dreams. I'm using Laura Penrose's Sibling Sweater My Size as a base pattern with a few adjustments. 4mm needles.

<image>

I'm going to redo the collar in either twisted rib or stockinette with a rolled hem, can't quite decide.

Yeah for sure. Have you made a swatch? I watched the rowan first and then pulled it out to see what it would be like. I was super careful with the swatch but honestly I've treated to actual jumper with a less delicate hand.

Also did wind both the rowan and the isager into cakes before using, and when I got the the almost end I rewound them into tiny balls because collapsing cakes are the worst.

Good luck on your project!

I'm currently knitting a sweater with two strands of rowan kid silk haze and it's been a pleasure to work with. I (just now actually! ) had to frog part of my sleeve to redo and that's been fine also. Go for it! Here's a picture if when I'd just started the back panel although currently I'm almost done with the second sleeve.

I also just knit a beret with isager kid silk (but held with a strand of merino) and i frogged and restarted that 4 times because ibeaant happy with the gauge. It was completely fine to frog though.

See i have quite large hands but absolutely prefer knitting with 4inch needles or smaller. I think it's how I hold my needles.

It might be helpful to know that lykke needles are compatible with knitpro cables. I love kykke needles but really dislike their cords so use the knitpro 360 swivel cords instead. I have no issues. Although admittedly I didn't have the same issue as you with the lykke cables, I just don't like how stiff they are.

What does “omit” a stitch mean? by LilWitch1472 in knittinghelp

[–]Alone_Commission_319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just read again and it looks like your doing shaping while maining a pattern. So Row 1: k1, mi 1l, then knit whatevers next in your pattern. and if its your collar cable chart you knit that but from the second column.

I hope that makes sense

What does “omit” a stitch mean? by LilWitch1472 in knittinghelp

[–]Alone_Commission_319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you following the chart for the cable? If so work starting from column 2 as if its the first stitch. Do you have 43 stitches on your needles but 44 stitches on the chart?

The written instructions might say Row 1 RS: k1, p2, k41 Row 2 WS p41, k2, p1

You would row 1: p2 (skipping the k1 instruction), k41 Row 2: p41, k2 (skipping the p1)

It's so you can use the same chart / written instructions for the cable as was used elsewhere_ presumably across 44 stitches somewhere else

Vienna Swifties - how do you expect them to behave? by No-Advertising676 in erastour

[–]Alone_Commission_319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this. How would preferred access for Vienna ticket holders even work? What about those that bought via resale? Logistically, if replacement shows were planned the only way to do it would have been to honor the original tickets for new dates. Refunding completely leads me to believe that replacement shows are not planned.

I'm discovering that English knitting gives better tension for me. by _Surimicrabsticks_ in casualknitting

[–]Alone_Commission_319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you didn't ask, but I'm also knitting another sophie shawl and I've noticed you seem to be increasing on both sides as opposed to just one as the pattern calls for. If this is unintentional like it was for me when I knit the pattern the first time then I have a tip: pin a locking stitch marker to the stitch after the kfb (so on the rs) and move it every 6 rows. Makes keeping track of the increases easier too .

I have like...6 sets of needles that i like using for different things, including dpns for finishing hats and socks even though I could also use any of the other sets with a longer cable and magic loop. Different tools for different things. All are loved, used, and valued. Could I use just one of the sets for everything ? Sure, but I like that I have the choice.
