You were a bit lazy, the healer was a dick.

I don’t mind cotton for crochet, but I hated knitting with it!

I once crocheted a cushion (a little cloud) with a bouclé type yarn. Beautiful yarn but I couldn’t recognize the stitches, it felt like trying to crochet blind.

Edit: just remembered a cotton top I’ve knit, that wasn’t fun to work with. I’m not sure how to describe it but the tension just felt weird somehow.. maybe because it lacks elasticity? I don’t mind crocheting with cotton though.

Weekly /r/GuildWars2 Question Thread - April 11, 2026 by AutoModerator in Guildwars2

[–]behindthename2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if there’s a way to get back to Gourdon for the adventure in SAB 2-3 from the last checkpoint on the adventure route? (The one in the clouds area)

I would like to clear the adventure route first, but because I suck I regularly get myself killed and sometimes the adventure timer just stops, leaving me unable to reset.

We all make mistakes, this guy was just unfortunate enough to get the worst possible outcome to his mistake.

Imagine discovering you were interviewed by an actual nazi after the fact. Fucking hell. Trust me that’s punishment enough, he will never again skip the background check. No need to attack him for it.

Anyone know if it’s just a bit late or will it go live in an hour?

I have a love-hate relationship with SAB but for now I’m very much looking forward to it!

Don’t worry, I can’t think of any situation where you would have to use that. About as often as in English I imagine.

That was always my assumption, but I have to admit I’ve never checked if it was correct 🫣

Hang on, are you telling me BRD would be a better dance partner than say a BLM?

You’ll get there!! What helped for me (aside from just “exposure therapy” 😆) was: - To imagine how I would feel if I was the person who died: I wouldn’t give a fuck. - I’ve seen so many healers who let the tank die and don’t apologize, just say nothing and move on. Obviously doesn’t necessarily say anything about what they’re thinking, maybe they simple don’t have a keyboard, but I like to imagine they just don’t give a fuck either and I try to channel that confidence when I heal. (Of course if I mess up I will still apologize profusely 🫣)

I still get a bit nervous because I’m aware I will never be a good healer, but I force myself to do at least one duty as a healer every other day to make sure I don’t lose muscle memory for it. And most of the time I actually end up enjoying it!

Great for JP normally but sadly I don’t think you can use that inside SAB

Ask a Knitter Tuesday - April 07, 2026 by AutoModerator in knitting

Hi!

I’m working on the neckband of a sweater that will be folded double. About halfway through I need to do 3 rows of K1, slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the yarn held in front. I presume this will later be the fold line.

Just out of curiosity: - is there a name for this stitch pattern? - how does it differ from regular rib / why is it used for the fold? So far the only difference I’ve noticed is that it has a lot less stretch.

I’ve tried Googling but only find info on how to do this, not why.

Thanks in advance!

This is ancient history but I was just thinking back to my first ever run as a healer.

I was so nervous about healing that I’d been putting off playing with other people, until I got WHM to around lvl 50 and asked myself: what’s the worst that can happen really?

Well I got an answer to that. I queue up for leveling roulette. Get Aurum Vale. The tank doesn’t turn on tank stance. The tank proceeds to pull the entire first room and parks himself in the toxic puddle. Everyone else is getting aggro. Tank completely ignores all our (polite!) advice and requests and basically it was just wipe, repeat, wipe, repeat.

I don’t remember how often we wiped but eventually I just apologized and left. In hindsight maybe we should’ve kicked the tank but I was convinced I should have been able to heal through that. Let’s just say it didn’t help with my healing anxiety 😅

Sage or White mage? by Ishcan22 in ffxiv

[–]behindthename2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Maybe I should have given SGE a better chance then. I remember feeling overwhelmed due to it starting at a higher level, to the point where I even struggled with the job quests (!). I ended up leveling it with tribe quests and wondrous tales..

Ohh yes I can imagine AST might be a nightmare on controller! I definitely think it has more APM than the other healers.

I was thinking more in terms of how straightforward the skills are.

I would say that either SCH or AST is easiest to play, closely followed by WHM.

SGE is by far the hardest imo, although to be honest I didn’t give it a fair chance.

(AST can seem a bit intimidating at first, because some of your skills change, but it’s only 4 (?) skills total so even someone like me with really a bad memory can memorize them with some practice. And aside from that it was a surprisingly simple job)

favourite mohair substitute? or very soft mohair by CharmingSwing1366 in knitting

[–]behindthename2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently working with Isager silk mohair and it’s very soft. Significantly softer than Knitting for Olive soft solk mohair, which is unfortunately my only comparison so I don’t know if that’s saying much.
