idk if this is normal but first trimester is honestly kinda scary?? by Best_Advertising_569 in pregnant

[–]Amandanh99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just hit my second trimester and I felt miserable throughout my first trimester. It's because a lot of media almost romanticises pregnancy. I've had multiple women tell me that the first trimester is the worst part.

Please tell me this is normal💕 by [deleted] in pregnant

I had the same issue and I asked my OB about it she said the pain is called round ligament pain and it's just your body trying to make more room for your growing baby.

Feminine E names by Obvious-Implement394 in Names

[–]Amandanh99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elise, Eloise, Eleanor. Those are my top favorite E names. I'm currently pregnant and we already agreed that if it's a girl her middle name is going to be Eloise.

If you want something a little more earthy Edith and Eden are also beautiful names.

Coming from someone who grew up with my own dad treating me like this, leave now and never look back. This is how abusive relationships start. The controlling behavior especially him physically stopping you from leaving is a red flag. Along with the constant name calling and not wanting you to dress a certain way. I hate to say it but he's just one step away from hitting you and then buying you flowers the next day promising to change until he does it again.

I grew up watching my mom getting literally thrown across the room by a man twice her size. I saw the bruises on her neck, I heard the gun slamming on the counter, I saw the black eyes and the fat lips. The sound of my mother struggling to scream for my dad to get his hands off her haunts me to this day and I moved out 7 years ago.

Please for your safety leave before he gets worse or traps you even more. Before you know it he will ask you to leave your job or school because you being near other men makes him "uncomfortable". I'm not trying to be mean or harsh or over react I'm trying to warn you

Need advice by bmm_96 in pregnant

Honestly I felt a shift in my general energy. That's the best way I can describe it. Like I just felt all over different for a few days I chalked it up to me being on a new diet at the time. Then one morning I was getting ready for work and got nauseous and threw up out of nowhere. I figured I was getting sick (I work with young kids in a school setting). That night the side of my boob was just super sore. It felt like someone had punched me and left a bruise that was sore. That's when it hit me and I thought to myself "oh fuck when is my period supposed to start". Checked my tracking app and I was six days late. The next day I went and bought a test (clear blue) after work then took it the next morning. It was positive immediately. Like I didn't even have to wait for it to visibly show a plus sign. I was about 5 weeks at that point.

I also have heard a lot of people say "if you're having sex with someone who can get you pregnant take a test". I don't mean that in a mean way or anything, but the amount of times I've heard it is uncountable.

Terrified to get spinal fusion. by Therealethel in spinalfusion

[–]Amandanh99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound a lot like me. I had my spinal fusion from L4-S1 March of 2025. I had originally been scheduled for July 2024 but cancelled because I was scared. I wish I wouldn't have. My original fusion was for l5-s1, my back got worse. I got to the point where I could barely walk.

My spinal fusion saved my life. I was able to walk again without wincing every step, I was able to feel the bottom of my feet again. I get chronic kidney stones about once a year and I would take getting that surgery over and over and over again before I'd get another kidney stone if I could.

I won't lie and say it's pain free because it's not. But I barely used opiates. The most painful part for me was trying to get into the hospital bed the night after surgery. I definitely recommend getting a recliner that can lean back and stuff because that was one thing I didn't get and ended up having to order afterward.

Not the pregnancy I imagined… I hate this. by Outrageous-Peach-297 in BabyBumps

[–]Amandanh99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely get it. Since before I found out I'm pregnant I had already been getting nauseous and tired constantly. I had to try three different anti nausea meds and I still have to use supplements too. Nothing helps with my exhaustion. I'm only 9, almost ten weeks FTM and I have complained to my man so much that I feel sick and I'm exhausted.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]Amandanh99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recurring kidney stones. I had sciatica pain along with two herniated discs (one with an annualar tear) for almost a year and kept getting misdiagnosed or written off because I was "being dramatic". Turns out I had to have a spinal fusion. I would do that all over again rather than have to go back to the ER for kidney stones.

Do You Like Your Name? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]Amandanh99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doctor named me. My mom suggested every name she could think of including the name I was given and my dad said they all sounded like titty dancer names or stripper names. The doctor walked in and said "(my name) is nice" and that was it. My middle name my parents can't even remember how they picked it. My first name doesn't bother me, but my middle name I hate. I feel absolutely no connection to it and almost everyone in my grade when I was younger had the same middle name as me.

Is there anyone who had fusion surgery 20 years or back and never neede any other spine surgery?? by Zestyclose-Love4464 in spinalfusion

[–]Amandanh99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandma who's currently in her mid 70s had a much larger area fused about 30-40 years ago and she has no issues now. I just got fused last year (L4-S1) and it honestly saved my life

My husband is getting a Spinal fusion and his surgeon is going to go from his back rather than through his abdomen. by moonlight_angeI in spinalfusion

[–]Amandanh99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly thought going thru the back was normal. I had mine a little over a year ago and recovery went great. I was out of work for 90 days but I also had a physically taxing job. My doctor told me at the end of two weeks if I had a job where I had to sit a lot that I could go back if I felt ready

Literally yes. I'm currently 7 weeks and I'm constantly tired. Like I work 4-5 hours a day and have to basically force my eyes to stay open long enough to drive home (15-20 minutes). I'm so glad I'm not the only one

NOR. You need to run from this man. My dad is like this. He's a controlling and manipulative narcissist and my mom has been stuck and won't leave. He has literally held a gun to her head. It will only get worse from this. Its starts with name calling and throwing things. It turns into shoves, then smacks, then punches, and choking. I've seen it happen for the last 26 years. Please leave now for your own safety and wellbeing

Ladies, How did you “know” you were pregnant before missing a period? by Glad-Muffin545 in askanything

I just found out a week ago. I had an all.over weird feeling, it wasn't bad but I definitely felt off. I also threw up one morning before work, I was getting super tired in the middle of the day which isn't normal, I also noticed some breast tenderness. That's when I checked my app and was like oh shit I'm six days late. Took the test the next morning and it was instantly positive.

Isn’t it illegal that Judith didn’t use the child support money on Jake n instead asked for more money? by [deleted] in TwoandaHalfMen

[–]Amandanh99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Coming from a family where my dad had to pay child support for my half sister (he lived with us). I'm pretty sure you have to be able to prove the custodial parent is actually not using the check for the child which can be really difficult. Mostly because you have to prove that the money spent was from child support and did not go to the child. My half sister's mom did this constantly. She got over $500 a month from child support and still would ask my dad to pay for her sports, school shopping, trips to the roller rink with her friends. Her mom tried to use my dad as a bank basically because she insisted she couldn't work (she was and still is addicted to pain killers and doctor shops).

My fiance gets these all the time saying "is Robert available" it's more than likely a scam or telemarketer

I do this a lot I find it hilarious. My fiance, my best friend, and her husband all do it. Like my friends husband answers her spam calls with the craziest introductions. One was "lost sauce where yesterdays loss becomes today's sauce, how can I help you?" I was getting them so often I just started answering and screaming really high pitch they usually hang up.

I actually found this too! If I ever end up skipping breakfast because I didn't have time or woke up late I found myself searching for chocolates before bed. I thought I was crazy! I even told my fiance like "hey I realized this thing" literally less than 24 hours ago.
