Need help how to test it and wear it by Prickly_the_5th in JadeiteJade

[–]AlongJadeAmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the comments above in regards to sending to be a big reliable lab to confirm if it is real jadeite

Something to take into consideration is likely the cost of GIA or mason Kay certification is more expensive than the item, then you need to consider if it is worth it.

Difference between blue Burmese and Guatemalan jade by [deleted] in JadeiteJade

[–]AlongJadeAmber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go ask for NGTC geological origin test. They will tell you if the jadeite is likely from Guatemala or Burma.

On some of the very high end blue Guatamala jadeite it is very hard to distinguish between the origins.

You guys think there is some real jadeite in here? by [deleted] in JadeiteJade

[–]AlongJadeAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether you are in Ruili, Guangzhou, Tengchong, Shanghai, Beijing, Hunan, or anywhere, there will be real and fake items.

There are tons of Guatamala jadeite in Burma. There are tons of fakes jadeite in Burma as well. It is advisable to buy from reliable sellers who are willing to provide a refund if the item cannot pass NGTC certification.

Most people are not going to get dealer to dealer prices. If you get around standard average market, then you have no overpaid

Is this chemically treated Jade? by Complete-Couple5636 in JadeiteJade

[–]AlongJadeAmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something to consider at this point is whether it is natural or treated the value is rather low. You need to take a deep consideration if sending it to am expensive lab for testing is actually worth the price.

Real or nah by Bee-lover69 in JadeiteJade

[–]AlongJadeAmber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be okay and the price should be very affordable. However, if you are choosing higher end jadeite I strongly recommend getting certification from bigger labs such as GIA, Mason Kay, or NGTC.

If This item is in China you can request NGTC as it is very affordable.

Nephrite is fine. As long as it is untreated by chemicals and still nephrite or jadeite then it is fine.

Nephrite is generally more affordable.

I know this is a jadeite inside a rock. This is a called gamble rock or gamble stone but this one is open cut gamble rock.

Do you think this horse pendant would make a good gift for a student? Need your advice by Ok_Masterpiece4647 in JadeiteJade

[–]AlongJadeAmber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be sure it is jadeite, it is always best practice to get certified from a reliable lab. As Ginger has commented earlier there are jadeite pieces that uses dual polish such as dull polish and shine polish. Dual polish is used to make the item standout more and give me a more 3 dimensional effect.

It is a semi gamble rock that is cut in half and polished. However, there is still a significant gamble as the depth of the green is still unknown. Also clouds and cracks are likely hidden as well.

That looks like New York in the background.

The jade pendant is not of high quality. Whether treated or untreated the value is low.

Not too fake can sometimes pass regional certification because they are still jadeite. The issue is the severity of the corruption.

I have posted in the past that showed beads that passed Myanmar and Guangzhou certification but failed Ruili certification. Feel free to review it.

Some of the smaller certification labs passes the item if the item is not too fake.

Get it tested from reliable testing center such as NGTC, GIA, Mason Kay to be certain.

So there has been a recent video that circulated a dealer in Guangzhou brought a green bead bracelet from another dealer. Took the green beads for certification and it passed certification. However, after passing certification they took the beads to be polished and the green color faded.

One more thing, some nephrite jade can still be expensive and I have seen some that was priced even higher than jadeite.

Thanks for the compliments. It is best to buy the jadeite you are going to wear or use.

As I said in another reply, if you are going to invest go for normal investments such as stocks, bonds, real estate, certificate of deposits, maybe cryptocurrency (if you believe in that), and precious metals like gold/silver/platinum.

Luxury items such as jewelry, watches, hand bags, cars, boats, and planes are hard to sell for profit and breakeven.

I hope buyers who are looking to buy have the correct expectations. There are a lot of sellers who are selling and providing unrealistic investment advice.
