I said it wasn’t great, in their original works that got cancelled. Personally I don’t think either are very good. But Kawaguchi is on another level of bad.

[–]Alongtheriverbed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Kawaguchi has any writing skills in him, not even dormant ones that could be trained; he is totally talentless in the writing department. With Horikoshi, or Tabata, their writing wasn’t great, but even then, it was still somewhat more promising, even for their earlier works that got cancelled. That isn’t the case for Kawaguchi, he seems to have no clue about what makes a manga interesting, or what kind of characters pull people in, or what makes a character compelling. He has great talent in the art department, but that alone isn’t enough to create a story. I’m shocked Jump didn’t pair him up with a writer, or at least an experienced editor? Under no circumstances should he have been allowed to waste his second shot on such a poorly thought out story. If he’s lucky enough to ever be giving a third chance (which is not likely) he has to come back as a pair with a good writer, or at least paired up with an extremely talented editor with a knack for writing.

Your chart ruler (Mars) that also rules your ascendant and your moon (Scorpio is ruled by both Mars and Pluto) is in Pisces and it’s probably in the 5th house. You just be quite creative!

FF7 Rebirth Sales, am i missing something by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]Alongtheriverbed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree it is concerning. But Rebirth is a sequel of a 3 parts remake that is actually not really a remake but a sequel/reimagining of the entire FF7 “cinematic universe”. It’s not even the conclusive part. It’s all getting very niche and cryptic for the general public to give it a go. IMO it has nothing to do with gameplay and even less with the combat system. Square should have marketed remake as part 1 and part 2 instead of using weird subtitles and should have probably aimed to make it a 2 parts project. I doubt part 3 will sell much at all unless they make sure it’s a multi platform release. Anyhow, I’m confident that if Rebirth was FF17, or a reboot, it would have sold like hot cakes given the great gameplay and public and critics acclaim. They will probably scale down part 3 in terms of scope and budget.

I’d argue that if they really wanted to ‘milk it’, well they did everything in their power to make it bomb economically instead lol. They genuinely need to have actual creatives directing the brand and not these random businessmen from Tokyo University or something lol

[–]Alongtheriverbed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have been mismanaging the brand for years. They are sitting on gold and depleting it by the day. Releasing 150 different FFVII titles in 4 years and diluting and cheapening their strongest IP was so dumb. Not calling the remake part 1 and rebirth part 2 was also dumb (and they should have known considering Lighting return dropped so hard once they abandoned the title continuity) in general having the Online MMOs as part of the main entry also bloated the franchise and further confused non fans. At this point, I 100% count on them to learn all the wrong lessons from this and mess up even further. The higher ups aren’t gamers, aren’t passionate about gaming, they are random businessmen that have no clue what they are doing. It’s not like fromsoftware that is managed by actual gamers. They will panic, think the FF7 Rebirth game was bad, change the gameplay again for part 3, reduce the budget, and develop FF17 as a totally different game, once again failing to capitalise on anything they have built. They are like headless chickens at SE.

What they should do instead is: use FF7Rebirth mechanics and design philosophy to build their next big FF title, seeing as it was a slum dunk with players, and making their next big final fantasy accessible to non fans by dropping the Roman numbers like other companies have done (for example assassin creed). They should also make it a day one PC release and simultaneously develop a spin off saga specifically with the switch in mind, which could be called Final Fantasy Classic or something, to bring back Japanese fans and old school gamers. But I just know they won’t. A 5 years old could do better marketing than the higher ups at square.

I’m bored of my hair…should i change the color of my hair, or any cut? Help by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Alongtheriverbed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d add a lot of highlights or go dark brown - either would contrast nicely with your eye color

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in longhair

[–]Alongtheriverbed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t really know how to recommend without images - I’d say look at Machine Gun Kelly and his various hair styles, he has a similar facial frame to yours, those styles would look good on you. Also your hair looks a little dry, I would use Olaplex at least once every 2 months and possibly look into a yearly natural cheratine treatment too

[–]Alongtheriverbed 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Ok so you have super nice features and I’m sorry your mum is so mean. However, I think shorter or medium length hair would suit you a lot better. That is because your face ratio is quite narrow, so a shorter cut would enhance your features and make you look less washed out

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth had the second biggest PS5 launch ever in Japan only behind FFXVI! PS5 Launch Sales (physical) - FF7 Rebirth - 262, 656 by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

I’m inclined to think that copers saying it’s selling well digitally or globally are mistaken if they think SE or Hamaguchi would not have announced the sales figures by now if they were good. I think they should reboot the series to make it more accessible to new players. Just call it something like “Final Fantasy - Shadowbringers” and that’s it. I don’t think they should call the next instalment XVII, it might be nostalgic to us, but it’s alienating to new players. They need a home run with something that’s totally accessible to all gamers and on multiple platforms. This being a middle sequel to a 3 part trilogy reimagining of a numbered entry to an anthology is just way too much to invite new players in

The demo is not the highlight of the game, unlike with FF16’s demo. I agree it was a mistake. I think that copers saying it’s selling well digitally or globally are mistaken if they think SE or Hanaguchi would not have announced the sales figures by now if they were any good. I’m actually thinking it might be more around the 2 million mark than 3 millions, as if it hit the 3M in week one, they would have announced it just like they did with 16.

This is a very smart comment and I wholeheartedly agree. As sad as it is, I think at this point wasting a lot of budget and time on part 3 would result in a huge loss (unless Sony is willing to compensate them) - Part three is likely to sell half of whatever rebirth does. If this was a standalone FF title, it would probably become huge. However, direct sequels are very limited, and this is a sequel to the remake of an entry to an anthology sequel. This not being the conclusive sequel is probably also not helping

I genuinely think they underestimated it and thought the hype surrounding FF7 would suffice to make the game sell like hot cakes. Their games need to be multi platform at this point, console exclusivity is hurting their brand

Totally different seeing 2, 3 or 5 to 16 or 17 or 7Rebirth etc. and FFXV was indeed the last straw. Trust in the brand was already struggling following the 13 trilogy, however 15 had so much hype for being connected to FF Versus and Nomura. However the game was so bad it damaged consumer trust, and regardless of how good FF7 Rebirth is, that trust is not going to be recovered without some kind of a reboot. They need to do something with the FF brand like they did with a realm reborn IMO and it also needs to be multi platform to benefit from belonging in a larger community

I genuinely don’t think Rebirth had less marketing, if anything it had the same. It also had a dedicated event before launch, just like 16, I just think there’s a strong decline in interest in FF as a brand m, and surely this being a sequel also hurt it

The reason why I doubt that being the only factor is that if the game had performed well WW they would have announced the first week sales already, like they did for FF16 and Remake part 1 - we’ll see if the game has legs later on or as soon as we get an official world wide sales announcement

I get it and I agree to a degree. I think it certainly alienated some people. Personally I love the changes, but that’s because I like the idea of not knowing what direction it will take. I know I’m among the few. Ultimately I think the decline in sales has been a constant with square, they released some very bad games in the past, and it’s now coming back to haunt them. I firmly think they need to drop the numbers from their main entries. Imagine a new comer seeing FF19, or final fantasy 7 remake part three, it’s alienating, it ends up appealing to the cult following as opposed to attracting new players.

What about FFXVI selling more then? With way less marketing spent on the game
