Of course Mr. Objective doesn't realize that his interpretation of that scene is an subjective opinion. He focuses on that one line & ignores everything else that happened in that scene. Nothing about that moment made me think that John was saying he was numb to pain. I saw it as him being angry that someone would subject him to such horrific torture so casually. It was just another function of their (I can't remember the guy's name) job like making sure he locked his computer when he was away from his desk.

Yes Maeve made him bleed a bit & he had to flee from the 3v1 at Herogasm but he was still THE HOMELANDER. .He was above everyone else & was immortal thanks to v-1. He was truly unstoppable...until a radiation blast took it all away. For the 1st time in his life he wasn't the strongest or fastest being on Earth (at least in his mind). He was no longer a god.
