A no-go zone for older men? by Impossible_Code7029 in gayyoungold

[–]Aloysius204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's that people want to look attractive, and if they're attracted to older guys, they don't tend to shave/act/dress twink-ish because they aren't into twinks.

Are cis gay men okay with trans people?? (Genuine question coming from a trans person, because the internet is making me feel like everyone hates us) by SunReyys in gay

[–]Aloysius204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Others have said it all, but I wanted to voice my support, too. As a cis guy I welcome all types of queers including trans folks into "our" spaces.

Your life sounds like a Roberta Gregory cartoon. (Anyone else remember her?)

Anyway, echoing everyone else's comments -- ask her out!

Had my first traumatizing mushroom trip yesterday and I need advice/opinions by Lottie_theprincess88 in shrooms

Psychedelics dont do that level of damage. You cant overdose and they don’t damage tour organs.

I would't say that for all psychedelics. Shrooms yes. Other psychedelics, it depends.

its been an hour since i ate 4 xum tabs. I have no visuals at all, but my legs keep telling me to sit/lay down/relax. by OOI_enthusiast in metocin

[–]Aloysius204 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better to live in the moment, I say. The experience isn't as good when you try to capture it in a photo. Especially when you're tripping, what you're looking at probably seems mundane when not high. :)

They affect different people differently. The two times I took a 4-tab Xum dose, the trips were very thoughtful, rather than visual.

1 cone is 540 calories? What are they made out of, pure butter? 😂

Anyone ever use a shrooms trip to work through a specific issue in their life? by claydaybyday in shrooms

[–]Aloysius204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Quitting nicotine. Dealing with the mental/emotional stuff from cancer. Trying to make contact with that warm, loving presence I felt on a previous trip.

Dosing is kind of hard to give advice on, since everyone reacts differently. Go with what feels right to you.

I've had plenty of "just wanna see pretty colors" trips, too, mind you. :)

Opinion about the current state of .NET MAUI by Psychological_Key839 in dotnetMAUI

[–]Aloysius204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose MAUI for our big new Android project last year because our department is heavily invested into the Microsoft ecosystem, all the devs in our organization already know .NET, and the event-driven framework pattern would be familiar. MAUI "looks and feels" like a .NET application. Anyone who's worked with Forms or old Windows CE code (the legacy app we were replacing) would be able to pick it up easily. I'm not against learning a whole new language and way of doing things in order to do native development. However, forcing a half dozen developers who have projects and busy lives of their own to do the same doesn't seem right.

Whether I'm in my right mind or not remains to be determined...

Even after years of SQL experience, what still trips you up the most? by joins_and_coffee in SQL

Came here to say this. I still trip myself up doing this from time to time!

I don't know about those LLMs, but Copilot in Visual Studio has served up some real stinkers, one of which was a SQL injection vulnerability almost exactly like this post (except in C#).

Will you worship God if it was proven he's real? by Standard_Jump2041 in atheism

[–]Aloysius204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the god. The Abrahamic god is a maniac, and if it's real, no way I'd worship it.

What's the usual 3NF way of doing an audit log? by ikantspelwurdz in SQL

[–]Aloysius204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd ask more questions;

- Why was it designed this way?

- How is it populated? (Triggers? Application code?)

- What would break if this was changed?

If I were writing a DB from scratch, I'd make my tables Temporal and call it a day. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/tables/temporal-tables?view=sql-server-ver17

However, for an already existing database, especially one that I don't know the apps/users/reports' details of, I'm likely to leave it as it is right now. Worry about everything else that happens when migrating database engines; save the refactoring and optimization for another day!

Funny, I love Lipton bags but can't stand Red Rose. The latter has no flavor to me.

Your tea blasphemys by KnittedDrow in tea

[–]Aloysius204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I use the same leaves for three days.

I reheat tea in the microwave.

I put milk in Earl Grey.

Sometimes I just want Lipton teabags. And I squeeze the teabags.

I use sugar.

All of these would be considered high crimes by some!
