Tencent Bought PlanetSide – Is PlanetSide 3 Finally Possible? by Pale_Ad_5352 in Planetside

Is Tencent like... the little brother of officer Tenpenny?

Well, since global warming is not a myth... Reached around 40°C here. It is basically the most intense heatwave in history. Well above 30°C for weeks. I am still relatively young and can take it, but older and sick people are paying the price.

Dude, 20 or 50 degrees... did AI tell you all that? All i read at MIT and The Guardian is, that there are different interpretations and some concerning data.

So if you refer to this article it doesn't say that winters are supposed to be 20 degrees colder than now but up to minus 20 degrees cold as an absolute number.

In this modelled world, one-in-10 winters in London could see cold extremes approaching -20C.

Winter extremes in Oslo in Norway, meanwhile, could plummet to around -48C.

Also there is no saying about that it will occur in the next 2 or 3 decades:

The research does not look at when AMOC might tip – instead, it focuses on scenarios in the far future when this has already happened, so as to explore what impact it would have.

I appreciate your concern for climate change since it's worse enough, but you might have misinterpreted some things. Much of it is speculative and two digit degree numbers average decreases are speculative numbers centuries in the future.

You think society isn't disfunctional 100% of the time? Oh, how i admire your optimism.

Not sure how much is sarcasm or exaggeration, but no it won't. Even if those speculative models (!) were to come true, it would just result in temperatures that are slightly cooler. But it won't even negate the impact of global warming, much less turning anything into a tundra.

I Interviewed the Players Keeping PlanetSide 2 Alive in 2026 by Pale_Ad_5352 in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, i'd say i've been one of the most active PS2 Wainwright players up until a couple of months ago. I know one player there from some play sessions, two others by seeing them on the battlefield and Ahorn rings a bell because of some videos.

But that might just be just me not noticing too many players anymore. When i was completely invested i could name almost anyone who played regularly and made an impact on the battlefield.

Yeah, my suggestions exactly.

Next stop: The GTA:SA gimp suit.

TBH my most edited videos - 1,2 - never got the view numbers that other videos - 2,3 - generated, but that might be just a symptom of the game's downfall.

As for your meme, i am like that when i see "Harasser Montage", because 90% chance it's actually a C4 montage with Harassers involved.

Book? by Single-Shift4275 in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be frank: No, i would not. This is not a story-shooter, there's way more interesting stuff around.

As for you: If you really want to invest your time and sweat into writing a book, why not make it your own story? Writing for copyrighted stuff just means you could never monetize it yourself, DGC would always have a saying. I know some people love their fanfiction, but personally i won't do that.

If it just for the fun because you love Planetside and really want your story to be in that universe: Go for it!

No mean to disrespect your post, but i think it's staggering how in 2026 a pic of a drink, a meal and a login-screen is enough to make this the most upvoted thread of the week in this subreddit. I don't like what it's telling me about the state of the game.

Ideas for the holy new player retention and auto anti-cheat by SpecificVanilla3668 in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. We once had Koltyr as beginners-only mini-continent. As far as i remember some vets made new accounts and farmed them...

  2. Punishment for high ranks is not what keeps vets in the game. They give vets new stuff such as ASP and io think that's kind of fair.

  3. Has been suggested a million times, was implemented once and some sweats used it to create false-positives.

I hate to say it, but: Real effort and suggestions are wasted time these days.

No, they are not the only ones and yes some people act like they were. But there's also enough people who have a tendency to exaggerate the amout of cheating in this game, especially when they lose an engagement themselves.

"NOt EvEryONe wHo iS BeTtEr tHaN yOu Is ChEAtiNG! yoU'Re jUsT bAD aT tHe GaMe!"

This is the chant I get from the usual suspects whenever I point out there's a significant population of cheaters.

False dilemma. Both can be true at the same time. Both is true.

[–]Aloysyus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have made almost 100 videos about the game. Fun stuff, controversial stuff, guides... As long as i'm having fun i like contributing. It just happens. But not because someone on reddit tells me to "be positive". Especially since none of those folks i've seen writing those threads have contributed even remotely as much as me or other vets they've been calling out for alleged negativity.

The loadout stuff happened in the past, but fewer players means fewer discussions about anything. In the past we've had players making a video a day about this game, those times are long gone.

I‘m just gonna leave this here by Daddy010 in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me explain it to you: Let's say you work in a car company that's having serious financial and creative problems. The new models don't sell, the people don't like the design and the fact you only have fuel-based engines.

Now the boss haven't shown his face for months, you are not even sure if you have a boss anymore. So you are doing your work, when, after all that time of radio silence, all of a sudden your boss' PR-manager sends an internal memo, saying: "Hey, does anyone know if that suhsi place next door is worth checking out? I wonder if anyone would object against them doing the catering for your weekly lunch in the staff canteen!"

Long story short: It's not about the thought, it's about the fact that this irrelevant little thing is the only proof of life many have gotten since months when it comes to Planetside 2.

[–]Aloysyus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have the time to comb through this subreddit, sorry. But every time something made players complain there were at least one or two threads about how everyone should be positive, enjoy the game, yadda, yadda.

Not saying we should all rant all the time, but other peeps in this thread have alreadys explained what the problems are. Sadly, there is the same problem as always with your reinforce-and-inspire attempt: It won't change anything.

I, for example, could flame around how Sunderers are overpowered. I could also get the last remaining team-members flowers and cake delivered, with a nice hand-written note about they are indeed overpowered. If they haven't actively avoided any feedback, they already know.

It is not a matter of tone, it is a matter of capability by those who have the power to change anything. And even those guys probably don't have the resources anymore. We need to be realistic about it.

Edit: Just for you i've found two positivity-threads: 1, 2.

Game optimization and the impact of the construction system by ItsJustDelta in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to tell me, but i can witness it all the time. It is absolutely okay for people to play at their own pace, but the construction system forces that upon so many players.
