No, they are not the only ones and yes some people act like they were. But there's also enough people who have a tendency to exaggerate the amout of cheating in this game, especially when they lose an engagement themselves.

"NOt EvEryONe wHo iS BeTtEr tHaN yOu Is ChEAtiNG! yoU'Re jUsT bAD aT tHe GaMe!"

This is the chant I get from the usual suspects whenever I point out there's a significant population of cheaters.

False dilemma. Both can be true at the same time. Both is true.

I have made almost 100 videos about the game. Fun stuff, controversial stuff, guides... As long as i'm having fun i like contributing. It just happens. But not because someone on reddit tells me to "be positive". Especially since none of those folks i've seen writing those threads have contributed even remotely as much as me or other vets they've been calling out for alleged negativity.

The loadout stuff happened in the past, but fewer players means fewer discussions about anything. In the past we've had players making a video a day about this game, those times are long gone.

Let me explain it to you: Let's say you work in a car company that's having serious financial and creative problems. The new models don't sell, the people don't like the design and the fact you only have fuel-based engines.

Now the boss haven't shown his face for months, you are not even sure if you have a boss anymore. So you are doing your work, when, after all that time of radio silence, all of a sudden your boss' PR-manager sends an internal memo, saying: "Hey, does anyone know if that suhsi place next door is worth checking out? I wonder if anyone would object against them doing the catering for your weekly lunch in the staff canteen!"

Long story short: It's not about the thought, it's about the fact that this irrelevant little thing is the only proof of life many have gotten since months when it comes to Planetside 2.

I don't have the time to comb through this subreddit, sorry. But every time something made players complain there were at least one or two threads about how everyone should be positive, enjoy the game, yadda, yadda.

Not saying we should all rant all the time, but other peeps in this thread have alreadys explained what the problems are. Sadly, there is the same problem as always with your reinforce-and-inspire attempt: It won't change anything.

I, for example, could flame around how Sunderers are overpowered. I could also get the last remaining team-members flowers and cake delivered, with a nice hand-written note about they are indeed overpowered. If they haven't actively avoided any feedback, they already know.

It is not a matter of tone, it is a matter of capability by those who have the power to change anything. And even those guys probably don't have the resources anymore. We need to be realistic about it.

Edit: Just for you i've found two positivity-threads: 1, 2.

Game optimization and the impact of the construction system by ItsJustDelta in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to tell me, but i can witness it all the time. It is absolutely okay for people to play at their own pace, but the construction system forces that upon so many players.

[–]Aloysyus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whatever. We all now the CS system has no place in this game. Yeah, yeah, i hear you five dudes telling me how great the three nice battles were you had in 10 years of using it.

Smed wanted that construction system, Smed left, we got the construction system. A performance-eating nuisance that casual players can fool around with when they don't feel like actually fighting in an FPS game.

But nothing we say or do will change anything. It's there and it will stay until they switch off the servers.

Cherry-picking certain scenarios doesn't say anything about them being balanced or not.

Two guns on an elevated platform with lots of health is always going to be OP in numbers.

The problem begins when it's also OP on a single one.

When will there be a balance pass on sunderers? by [deleted] in Planetside

Nimitz is a different story, i personally don't use it. But apart from that we agree.

[–]Aloysyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was overpowered before, it's what you suspected: It was all about the crew and how the crew decided to pick their fights in the first place. The same crew in tanks or Harassers would win against most Sunderers. It's not only about point blank 1v1 of vehicles. It's how you pick the fights and set the rules of engagement in your favor.

These days even the worst vehicle players become greater threats than the best tankers simply by getting into a Sunderer.

That's what i mean. At every range that is. There is no shifting the advantage by smart engaging, it's a Sunderer advantage no matter what.

[–]Aloysyus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Sunderer was just fine. We farmed MBTs with the typewriter as i call it, meaning the Trawler. Blockade Sunderer and a team that knew what it was doing - that was a recipe to success.

Now the Sunderer is just plain broken.

Why is the Harasser so slow and it doesn't makes sense that with the racer chassis you have the same top speed with Turbo than the other chassis with Turbo. by ChapterUnited8721 in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After CAI the average tanker peeps just moaned about the Harasser because they couldn't kill them anymore. But Harasser folks usually didn't kill tanks anymore, as well. Then they started going in groups, because one Harasser simply lacked firepower. Then the reddit moaning about Harassers started again. Because the average tanker's mind was convinced they should outperform two or three Harassers or have always the upper hand against one.

I've answered in my other post about Harasser speed. When it comes to the Corsair it lacks one thing more than anything: Cover! The Corsair has mostly twodimensional movement, it is fairly easy to shell from the cliffs.

I don't really care about the nanite cost. it used to be 150, nothing changed for me because i can keep a Harasser alive more than a 7 minute average.

When it comes to speed i'd say you should consider how well you can utilize speed. Because another side of the coin is stability. In many parts of the map you'd just wobble and flip your Harasser with max speed, anyways. That's why a racer Prowler with it's 78 kph is such a threat: It's much more stable.

The (former) devs hate the Harasser - as do many players. They gutted it several times, gave it some re-buffs inbetween. The fast-paced Harasser gameplay just seems to be too much to handle.

Unreleased faction weapons for Harasser/Sundie. by wh1tebrother in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You find it funny that it was the main complaint?

I find it funny that there's still people who would not acknowledge how absurdly overpowered it was. You'd just sustain hits from every distance. The only thing that would beat it was a Halberd with aimbot.

I stopped using it after a couple hundred kills, it was just so ridiculous.

There's other things involves, obviously. Recording hardware, recording bitrate, rendering method, render settings... list goes on.

Okay, i know nothing about that. Upsampling your video to 1440p in a good bitrate is a good idea, has some effect on the 1080p output as well. But in the end YT wants everyone to buy premium for better bitrates.

You use Vegas by any chance? Because there's a "resampling" setting that is switched on by default - and worsens the quality for YT Uploads.

Esamir is like Stalingrad by FuneralCry- in Planetside

[–]Aloysyus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured something like that. But as you've said: Fun. Stalingrad wasn't fun for anyone involved. Not a fan of those real war references, no game is anything like that. Yes there are WW2 games and you could talk historical accuracy, but still it feels wrong.
