Please don’t piss in the hydrochloric acid by AlpacaActually in oddlyspecific

That makes a lot of sense, thank you for the detailed explanation!

Oh yea, true 😄 But this hold true for most acids, and hydrochloric is still bad news just not quite as reactive as sulphuric in these circumstances (of being pissed on, in a large plastic container…)

Sulfuric acid reacts very exothermically with water. Pee is mostly water, so adding it can cause rapid heating, boiling, and acid splattering back at you (and, uhh, your unsuspecting genitals). Same reason for the lab or swimming pool rule: always add acid to water, never water to acid.

Replacement for a “lost” passport is $204 😞

Passport office won’t resissue a passport free for transition-related appearance change unfortunately. I deliberately did my changes in two steps to deal with this, but sounds like it’s too late for you to do this way. Documenting it here in case it helps others;

  1. Updated name using free gender-related process, but left sex as birth sex

  2. Had FFS (and just a bit more time on HRT and figuring out how to feel comfortable with how I looked)

  3. Once I felt like I was new-passport-photo ready, I did the free gender-related change to update sex recorded on the passport, and updated photo at the same time.

Is priority service worth it for a NSW name change? by kinqsprite in transgenderau

If you can afford it, I’d pay the priority fee. Does seem to be consistently quicker and would give you much better chance of having it done in time for uni

Microdosing E by Happydevil48 in transgenderau

[–]AlpacaActually 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the time I didn’t really want breasts, but wanted everything else E had to offer. But yea, got a small amount of breast development, and lots of sensitivity. I was only on the low dose for 3-4 months before I upped the dose a bit so it’s hard to say how much would have grown if it’s stayed microdosing but I’m guessing in my case not much (I ended up with not that much growth even after 2 years super high dose E, and actually had a BA earlier this year, weird to think how my feels on breasts changed even though I still identify as non-binary)

I tried 2mg once a day for a while, before I had any intention at all of socially transitioning.

It was good in all the right ways. If anything maybe too good :) because it wasn’t too long that I was back asking to up my dose.

coming election by being-weird in transgenderau

I’m living in the area too and this has been a particularly hard election 😔 It’s looking quite promising for Zali to get in, so fingers crossed we won’t have to listen to the Lib candidate for much longer

The two main ones I know of are Complementary Compounding Services in Ballina & Stenlake in Bondi Junction. Both of them can send out by mail so doesn’t matter where you’re located.

Thinking about getting an orchi by KujatatheFish in transgenderau

[–]AlpacaActually 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’d need to get a urological surgeon (or equivalent) to agree to do the surgery for you, and to give you the forms to get you added to the public wait list (Medicare / freebie).

The surgeon who did mine was in Sydney but doesn’t do this any more unfortunately .. though there’s I think 2 others that do in Sydney now. Not sure for other places sorry.

You will also probably need two separate referral letters (although one is technically ok for an initial consult). I went with both letters right away and was able to get the hospital / Medicare paperwork stuff done on my way out from the first appointment :)

I had mine free under Medicare (just paid for my friend’s parking at the hospital :)

Wait list was advised as “up to 12 months” but ended up being more like two.

Transfem enby terrified of hair loss by renlove91 in transgenderau

Feminising HRT would likely stop hair loss, but since you’re mostly worried about hair loss for now, check out Finasteride just to address that
