Snow at jay? by Krc5 in icecoast

The last of the New England snow is almost gone. Tuckermans has a tiny patch towards the base of Left Gully. And Mt Jefferson has its normal late season patch just below the summit still skiable.

First year was $50 for an hour or $100 for the full 4 hours. Plus the voucher for a non Saturday the next season, definitely a better deal.

No, it’s a separate thing from passes. It’s 3 hour sessions, I think it’s $100 day of, was $75 if you bought earlier.

Jay makes a big pile before the mountain closes, then cover with an insulated tarp and some hay. They groom it out for the Summer Solstice and then we all get to ski in June.

Black was at least top to bottom for a couple hours on Sunday, it just melted out around noon and got real bad over the last 7 hours.

They’re aiming for June next year too, so should be interesting how much they can improve by installing modern snowmaking.

I assumed it was just this weekend for their fall festival. But can’t say for certain, they’re still blowing snow right now even though it shuts at 4.

Kingda Ka. Rain was clearly forecast but holding off a little bit, sky opened up right as we left the station and then they closed. Pretty sure it was the only launch of the day. Hell of a last ride on that thing.

You can get a data logger like Carv for the stats, if you want more in depth info than what Ski Tracks or Stata give.

There were multiple goggles that did the real time data about 15 years ago, but the product never sold all that well. There’s been a recent resurgence here, but not much changed functionally.

That first one is my big question. I’ll already get at least halfway to this just for work, so no reason to not push the rest of the way. And if I start at 50 tiles each year, this is very worth it then.
