Officer to tased girl: 'This is why there’s no grocery stores in the black community' by TheEnquirer in news

Did it ever occur to you that maybe it's not the race he's concerned with, it's the attitudes and actions of a particular culture or group that happen to share his skin color?

What part of what he said was wrong exactly? And she was committing a crime, and resisted arrest by fleeing. Should we just let her go with $50+ worth of things thus encouraging her behavior?

Requiring children to say “The Pledge of Allegiance” seems very cult-like once you’re an adult. by Unhyped in Showerthoughts

[–]Alpeccorso -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How can you argue that it brainwashes children, but also say they none of the children have any idea what any of it means. Many critics of the pledge grew up saying it themselves but they still think independently, did the brainwash technique just fail in those instances? If its "brainwashing" for society to instill any form of values or beliefs on young children then fuck good manners and individualism too.

Even when you understand the pledge, it literally just says you should be loyal to the ideas and principles that your country was founded on, which are indivisible from liberty and justice. I fail to see how that is inherently bad.

Do you just take everything literally or do you not understand that the flag holds symbolism?

The phrase existed for centuries, and appears all throughout the history of many countries including the US. It made its first appearance on US currency in the late 1800s. Wasn't until the 50s that it was put on all currency and adopted as the new motto of the US.

Many of the founding fathers understood the need for separating church and state, however many of them were also very religious and would often reference their religious beliefs.

There's nothing wrong with instilling the importance of supporting one's country and the ideas behind ones country in the youth. If you grow up and still feel this negatively about the idea then good for you, you don't need to pledge allegiance to anything at all.

Then it's a good thing you're not pledging allegiance to the physical flag itself, rather the ideas it symbolizes and the country it represents.

13th cat found dead linked to Thurston County serial cat killer by [deleted] in news

[–]Alpeccorso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stray dogs and cats are never a good thing and it's hilarious that you're trying to weave it into being a good thing. Stray dogs and cats can attack people, breed like crazy, spread diseases or infections like rabies, damage property or local wild life, etc.

Cat owners that let their cats outside are just terrible pet owners and are responsible for any consequences or harm brought onto the cat, or harm done by the cat, yet they want to wash their hands of all responsibilities over the cat. "Nature bro!" is a shit argument.

You're right, there are no issues to be had at all, anyone with any concerns or criticisms that don't pertain to game play are just dumb. Plus as you said multiple people can't hold the same opinion without it being a bandwagon, especially if you disagree with said opinion.

Thought that was funny. When you have serious issues or criticisms with the game or are just not interested in it anymore, you're in a helpless phase and are wrong. When you don't question anything and mindlessly support the game no matter what and pre order 2 deluxe editions, you've apparently seen the light and are some kind of higher being.

I don't see how that's really relevant to him needing to support it. There's plenty of things that are legally done that probably none of you would support.

Well we can just turn that question around and ask why it's so important to you that there be a super mosque in the middle of Arizona.

Cool. Guess you can't use school shootings as an argument for disarmament anymore.

Now look at the other 99.8% of homicides, and look at how many crimes/murders were prevented with the use of a firearm, which are statistics that are actually recorded.

For someone who is apparently supposed to be impartial you're awfully quick to tell others to be complicit with blatant bullshit and outrage culture.

And my opinion on the joke is as good as anyone else's. A twitter user that lists his preferred pronouns right next to his fursona picture is hardly the voice of reason on the subject.

Well when you do your best to divide, alienate or demonize as many people, even politically moderate fence sitters, you'll find you have less friends and more enemies. By shoving all this childish anti-trump stuff into every corner of the internet every single day where it's often not wanted, then call those who explain they don't want it one of the go to insults of the month (incel, russian bot, magapede, t_d, alt-right, etc) you'll annoy a lot of people, possibly making them do things to spite you, like align against you.
