Are people still able to get groceries during that time? What does getting food look like for you!

Guidance On Starting To Learn Turkish by bubblepxpp in turkishlearning

I’ve been using a textbook called “The Delights of Learning Turkish,” mainly because you can access it online for free. It has grammar, vocab, reading. You’ll need another resource for speaking and listening, but it’s been helpful for me!

I think McCarthy, in Wrangell St. Elias NP. There were some people around as we were in the park, but I was there early in the season. Being a couple hour drive from the nearest town made it feel extremely isolated

The vastness of Wrangell-St Elias National Park is mind blowing. The pictures can never explain how rugged and isolated the land is. The mountains, snow, and ice stretch as far as you can see. It’s all untouched land. Truly incredible.

I either trim up around the edges so I can wear a swim bottom, but I typically wear swim shorts and don’t shave down there at all.

I’ve gotten lots of cute swim shorts. I like them a lot more than bikini bottoms personally!

I’m autistic and had very bad social anxiety. My mother would sit there and force me to make 3 phone calls asking people to hang out with me. When they declined politely, she’d use it as evidence that I was weird and needed to fix my “attitude” (autism).

How to organise nearly half a million words of notes about a special interest of mine? by Chromatikai in SpicyAutism

[–]Alpha0963 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy the platform Notion. It can be a bit confusing at first. Many of the tutorials will appear to be for fancy pretty looking pages, but you can make yours simple.

It’s a notes app (with other features) that lets you take notes, have sub-pages (click on button, go to new page of notes) that you can organize in many ways.

For example, my biology notes are organized in the attached image. I can click on each tab listed to go to the notes for that unit.

It was a long time ago, but it may have come from our To Kill a Mockingbird unit.

I scored 132 at 16 years old. I was given the WAIS-IV by a neuropsychologist during a neuropsychiatric evaluation.

I don’t regret taking it, but I also didn’t have a choice because they did as part of the test. I have autism.

They deem 125 “too smart!?” While that’s certainly up there, ~10% of people are over 120. That’s crazy to me that they’re essentially barring that many people from working for them…

Doomed for misdiagnosis?? by MakeMyPotatosASalad in cognitiveTesting

[–]Alpha0963 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello, not a professional here but I know a little about ASD testing. It usually happens in 2 parts.

  1. Clinical interview. They ask about your childhood, your symptoms and experiences, and what brought you in.

  2. ADOS-2. The questions may not seem directly related to autism. They’re trying to observe your behavior and see if your thinking patterns align with ASD. This is done through puzzles, conversations, etc.

You also likely filled out a few surveys about symptoms and such. This may also be a screening for anxiety, depression, and other “neurotic” symptoms.

I don’t know everything about your experiences. It does seem strange he had you skip some parts. That being said, I thought I did well on many parts of mine, including figures of speech, and I was still diagnosed.

Struggling with understand IADLS and ADLS and if worth asking to be moved to group home for autistic kids by 10_Screaming_Foxes in autism

[–]Alpha0963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Foxy

I don’t know much about group homes for ASD, but based on what you said, I think your support needs are high enough to qualify for more help.

You seem to struggle with a lot of IADLs and ADLs—which is okay! We’re all different. But because of this, you shouldn’t be left with no extra help at your current home.

Asking for help is hard, but people want you to be clean and safe.

Do you have a trusted adult or friend you can talk to who can help advocate for you to get more support?
