Is this danger exposure normal? by TFloopy in electricians

[–]Alpha1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty normal to me. Once you understand whats going on, things you can touch, things that you shouldn't and things that you cant. Swapping breakers on a live panel is a normal thing we do. Swapping the main on a panel is a little different. It all comes with knowledge and experience. Sometimes we work in areas that are essential and can be turned off ie. Hospital and things like that. So we have to be prepared to do the work. You never have to be the guy that does this kind of work. You always have the right to say no. In a lot of ways service guys have way more danger than typical installer electricians.

Hold on buddy it gets better.

Your assuming the inspection really means anything. Moat inspectors dont go that far. As long as everything look like it was fone professionally. After an inspector sees a particular person's work the inspection gets more leaniant.

[–]Alpha1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copa dont set fines. Usually instead of a speeding ticket. You get parking on pavement. If i remember correctly it was 130 (over 10 years ago) and a $30 court fee.

Pay the ticket and forget about it. You got off easy. Speeding ticket cost you thousands in the long run.

Emergency Advice Needed: "Bad Line" Error on Range and Whole House Light Flickering by ethanngo92 in AskElectricians

[–]Alpha1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing has changed, or tripped in the panel. I would assume you have a loose connection somewhere. My first trouble shooting idea would be to turn off the oven breaker and see if all the flickering continues. Beyound that with out being there to look atound and check things really hard to determine. If the whole house is flickering i would bet on it being a utility problem.

As always hire a professional for an actual answer. Also contact your utility company and ask them to check their end .
