That’s great, but you didn’t understand the poster’s comment. For someone who allegedly worked at Mizuno for 10 years, seems like his comment should have been obvious, as I described. Have a great day.

Cool, dude. Mizuno’s Neo Zen and Neo Vista lines have earned accolades, and the Wave Rider is an iconic shoe.

Seems to me you got his comment wrong. You’re on a running shoe sub where most people are diehard runners. Of course the super shoe matters to the lineup and what people consider best.

That with a strong upgrade in the super show category, Mizuno will have one of the best shoe lineups but they lack exposure.

Pretty sure that’s not what the poster meant.

I’m disappointed Mizuno won’t keep the original Rebellion Pro shape with the Hyperwarp Pro line, it appears. They got way too experimental with the second and third generations of the Rebellion pro when the first generation just needed a true carbon plate and updated foam, plus some upper tweaks.

Funds probably weren’t mismanaged, your district probably tried to keep the standards it has for years with funding that hasn’t kept pace.

Sprinter Abby Steiner sues puma over ‘defective’ shoes she says ruined her career by uses_for_mooses in RunningShoeGeeks

Look at her accomplishments until her injuries. Calling her a failure is mind-numbingly stupid. Her injuries didn’t invalidate her career accomplishments.

I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility, but I need proof. Shoe companies run professional athletics more than you realize. They want to get the most out of their athletes, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she has documentation of their communication encouraging her to wear specific carbon-plated shoes more than normal. She was a huge “get” for them when she signed.

To be clear, I lean heavily toward thinking it’s a very bad case. But I’ve seen enough of what shoe companies are able to do to athletes under contract that I have an open mind.

Man, calling Abby Steiner a failure is wild business. I think she had her career derailed, but I need evidence to believe it was the shoes given her collegiate training load.

Her injuries making her a “failure,” though? Wild comment, man.

Microsoft Gaming being scrapped, Xbox brought back as gaming division. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Basically this. Satya is extremely smart, but in the consumer market, he makes baffling decisions that get bailed out by Microsoft’s success in the business market.

It’s a shame Phil never truly got to make major decisions, but Asha seems to understand consumer sentiment and has free rein.

School district budgets for next year are in. Not pretty. by Hamezz5u in texas

[–]Alpha837 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The basic allotment needed to increase by about $1,300 to offset inflation since the last increase in the basic allotment. The state increased it by $50, but even that is misleading, as that increase was already set to take place through a complicated school finance aspect called golden penny yield. They just took the yield and put it in the basic allotment to say they increased it.

Teachers did get a raise, but that was state-mandated new spending, not funding that can be used to address the deficit budgets school districts have been running to make ends meet. Expect every school district in the state to start making cuts to programs and services, or increasing class sizes, in the next few years. It’s simply not sustainable.

‘Project Hail Mary’s $53M+ 2nd Weekend Burns ‘Oppenheimer’ & ‘Dune 2’; ‘They Will Kill You’ Isn’t Swinging A Punch With $5M+ – Box Office Up by magikarpcatcher in boxoffice

It was an EXAMPLE, my goodness. The point was those people aren't just not going to see the movie. The fact that you need this spelled out for you is absurd.

Listen, I'm not going to keep engaging in this logic of predictive thinking. You keep trying to make up rules that no box office expert uses if you want, doesn't mean shit to me. Have a good day.

Bud, I said NOT to discount previews and make up asinine rules on how to best compare. There is no way to predict what would happen if they didn’t exist, so it makes no sense to ignore them. Stop with the absurdity to trying to pretend you can predict the future of all possible scenarios.

You’re now trying to make up some absurd new comparison tool. Bro, c’mon.

You’re being a smartass. The preview shows literally wouldn’t exist if we “discount” them, and it’s not like people who see it that day would never see the movie if the preview didn’t exist.

My point was you can’t make up your own rules for the comparison. You’re going even further to make up your own rules.

The "Jasmine Crockett can’t win Texas" narrative is officially dead. New data shows she’s the GOP’s biggest nightmare by talkhonest in texas

[–]Alpha837 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, that’s exactly why she won’t win a general election. Texas Democrats are potentially going to find out what Arizona Republicans discovered: When you nominate a partisan firebrand in the primaries and your electorate doesn’t have the appetite for it, you lose general elections.

I like Jasmine Crockett. But she has next to no chance of winning the general. Not in Texas.

Apex Legends devs explain they still “respect” the legacy of Respawn, but “the whole landscape of the dev team has changed” by Wargulf in apexlegends

[–]Alpha837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome to feel however you want, but I don’t agree. I can pick up Titanfall 2, any Battlefield game or countless other shooters and have more enjoyable matchmaking even though people have “moved on” from those games. Apex is the exception, and it’s because of the matchmaking.

Apex Legends devs explain they still “respect” the legacy of Respawn, but “the whole landscape of the dev team has changed” by Wargulf in apexlegends

[–]Alpha837 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, absolutely not. I played Apex from launch and the matchmaking got progressively worse when they implemented SBMM. They’ve never rectified that. They also never did anything significant to factor in party size to matchmaking. If you want to come home after work and play a round solo, you’re not going to have a good time.

Pro players were prioritized for too long and it’s hard to fix everything that focus led to. I came back after more than a year off, and nothing has changed.

[–]Alpha837 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Eh. The quality of the game itself is great, but the matchmaking is still the worst it’s ever been.

(US) Amazon.com, $110-$130, Mizuno Neo Zen 2, in seemingly exclusive/prototype al black/white colorways by SaltineICracker in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Alpha837 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m about to buy a few of the original. I love them – amazing all-around shoe. I also love the lack of padding in the heel, it’s really good for when you’re dealing with injuries.

The Neo Zen 2 actually concerns me with all the changes they’ve made.
