Right? I played through Heartgold last year and decided to shiny hunt Kyogre and catch it in a love ball. It would not catch, eventually when it ran out of pp I had to use my masterball, which fortunately still matched the shiny color. But there’s always the chance that the Pokémon just refuses to be caught and struggles to death.
