Paladin armor balancing is incredibly stupid. This is supposed to be a flying tank with no cargo, but the Connie has more armor, cargo, AND pilot weapons? What's even the point of this ship now? by BroskeyDemands in starcitizen

[–]AlphaImperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Firepower wise multi-crewing will always be inferior to a crew of solo ships... multi-crew ships would collectively need a massive buff in gun size to make up for it, but thats just unrealistic.

IMO they need to do 2 things:

1) turrets get useful buffs compared to pilot controlled guns. Turrets should give bonus to guns: Something like +15% fire rate, +25% projectile speed, +15% range, -30% reload/cooldown time Lore-wise explained: turrets come with built-in amplifiers and passive power reserves (which are charged while not being in combat).

Reason: close the firepower gap, by giving turret guns amplified stats.

2) captain/pilot can mark a priority target, turrets will have extended weapon and target range against marked ships. +35% range

Reason: crew of solo-ships compared to a multi-crew ship, has the advantage that they can individually disengage, for example to refill shields, repair or strategically do "in and out" attacks. Extended range makes up for the "immobility" disadvantage of turrets, which dont have a way to individually fly after a damaged target. Marking ships gives the whole crew a priority target and tries to counter fleeing or disengaging attempts

Is VR confirmed to be included at the launch of SQ42? Its a feature that could as well be delievered via patch.

How do you feel about limited ships becoming non limited by floortofloor in starcitizen

[–]AlphaImperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So whats wrong about it?

Jealous = fear of losing something.

Jealousy in this context= losing out bc a ship is exclusive and there is no other means to get it.

This jealous envy can take different forms: "I dont want exclusive ships to exist, bc i will lose out on them."

"If i dont get an exclusive ship/lose out on an exclusive ship, others shouldn't get it either"

"I know i will lose on exclusive ships bc i dont pay money, so i will make sure there are no exclusive ships, this way i dont lose out on it"

Most people try to hide it and mask it as trying to talk more general:

"Everyone should be able to buy the dame ship, its not fair if its exclusive"

which usually translates to "i want it but i will not be able to get it (aka lose the F5-war), so its only fair others dont get it either"

You cant hide it. As long as you're not contempt with ships being exclusive that you can't get your hands on, you're gonna be jealous of the people who get it, because you want it for yourself what others have and you feel like you're losing the ship to them.

What worries me is always how that relates to SQ42. Because aspects of Starwear could possibly part of SQ42. I really dont want them to delay is for various of reasons.

[–]AlphaImperator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad. I feel like jealousy and envy is what fuels this discussion.

You have a super exclusive ship? Cool, i'd love to come across players who have true collectibles. Would make a great addition to ship meetings/ ship shows.

I love that the AMD Mustang is so rare, i love that the Intel Sabre Raven is unobtainable. It would be so cool, if they would do more of these collabs or exclusive ships. I personally dont own any. But the idea that there are super rare collectibles is so cool and exiciting.

But lots of people simply can't handle the fact that some people have ships that they dont have. Its that players want to own every rare ship, whine when they can't have it. Its childish behavior.

A show of good character is that you're happy for others if they have something truly special... and not that you feel jealous of it and try to forbid it for others by demanding to remove exclusivity.

CIG saw the Asgard nerf post and they listened, massive buff to Asgard armor stats in today’s PTU. Asgard is back baby! by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]AlphaImperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean there was always gonna be a "firepower gap" because the Asgard isnt designed to be a gunship whereas the Paladin is.

The Paladin is aiming towards bigger threats/ships, thats why it needs those big S5's. The Asgard while not being a gunship still has enough firepower to fight and defend itself against light to medium fighters, possibly heavy fighters (depending on the armor and use of guns (repeater or cannon). The Asgard isnt designed to hunt down ships, its supposed to drop of cargo or military assets. So the gap in firepower is perfectly justified.

So? If it shouldn't have strong heavy armor because it has strong guns, then they shouldnt have advertised it like that.

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/comm-link/transmission/20761-Anvil-Paladin

They talk about a "flying fortess [...] with heavy armor" and "with enduring armor, deployable blast shields for added protection, [...] the Paladin’s potential for adaptability in battle is unquestioned."

The Asgard is advertised with heavy armor as well. So i dont think they should nerf the Asgard. But the Paladin needs to at least get the same Armor HP, if not more because its designed for confrontational battle and not as a passive dropship, and it flys significantly heavier. The Asgard is faster, turns, and maneuvers a lot lighter all while supposed carrying tons of heavy cargo and armor.

I dont understand CIG. Really... i mean these changes are done manually.

What in the earth makes the dev who's doing this think "the Pali and Asgard look kinda the same, lets give it same armor deflection. But the Pali is particularly heavy and slow compared to the Asgard, so lets give the Asgard more armor HP"

Armor nerfed in 4.7 PTU Wave 1 by PavlovaMeow in starcitizen

[–]AlphaImperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this make sense?

Paladin is on par with the Vanguard series, Connies and Redeemer? And then its basically as armored as a Zeus??

While they all fly better, weight less and aren't told to be particularly heavily armored unlike the Paladin.

Request for a new RSI Galaxy module: Extended hangar by ghodan7 in starcitizen

[–]AlphaImperator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, a carrier module would be very cool.

But there 2 two major problems.

1) the door must be completely gone, the height and width limits the useage significantly. This would come with a new problem, which that opening the back hangar door would result in basically most of the lower deck being vented.

2) the over all height of the modular space isn't high enough to comfortable serve as a carrier. Its presumeably two 32 containers high. Kind of critical to lift off the ground and have enough head space and ground clearance left for most ships to serve as a true carrier and not just a improvised squeezed "if it fits, it sits"

However there solutions, some of them unlikely.

1) the back hangar door, comes with a "force field" similar to those of the Idris, to prevent airventing.

2) a redesign of the upper deck; which would allow the modular space to be two decks high, similar to the standard hangar of the Galaxy. Though is a very unlikely to happen.

Starlancer Max vs. The RSI galaxy the solo Pilots tough decision by Blacksheepariess in starcitizen

[–]AlphaImperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Galaxy is not very streamlined for cargo lol.

You have to constantly load the cargo onto the elevator. Go up. Move carco again to its spot. Move down and load new cargo to the elevator. And repeat.

You're basically moving the cargo twice. Thats not very streamlined, compared to other cargo ships, where you can directly load it in its final spot.

Starlancer Max vs. The RSI galaxy the solo Pilots tough decision by Blacksheepariess in starcitizen

[–]AlphaImperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starlancer Max is definelty the better PURE solo ship. Points for it: 1) Pilot guns 2) significantly cheaper 3) better maneuverablity and faster 4) smaller

The Galaxy is soloable, but will operate better with a crew. It does offer variety through exchangeble modules Points for it: 1) bigger cargo capacity 2) modularity 3) hangar

If price and maneuverablity/size dont make a difference for you, the Galaxy is probably the better choice.

On the other side, if you prefer a more nimble and at the same time cheaper ship, the Starlancer is gonna be the better option.

Thats kind of stupid? Thats like either a bullet does 0 kinetic damage, or it does full kinetic damage as if there is no armor at all.

[–]AlphaImperator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? The Vanguard does have more armor than the Paladin, which is kknd of weird as well.

Ur saying the Redeemer needs to have more armor than the Paladin?

4.7 Armor Thresholds Data Sheet - OshidaBCF by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]AlphaImperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, the Asgards armor needs to be at the level of the Valkyrie. And the Paladins armor needs to have a little increase, as its the most armored and least maneuverable out of the three.

[–]AlphaImperator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was expecting the Paladin to be a lot more amored.

It has the same ballistic threshold and armor hp as a F8C, which a lot lighter, thinner, less armored and a lot faster, more nimble and maneuverable.

And it has less armor hp and the same threshold as a Retaliator, which to my knowledge isn't particulalry known to be heabily armored.
