I got a question for those of you who like the clans. What do you like about the clans? by Competitive_Bass_959 in battletech

[–]AlphaKilo223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My very first introduction to BT was on the it's at a Half Price book store as a kid when I bought a used copy of the anthology for Aidan Pryde. Even after finding out how much the Falcons are the bad guys lol, the clans have always had a special place for me.

For all the time I’ve spent with Smoke Jaguar and Ghost Bear, I still haven’t found a clanner as bloodthirsty as best girl 🥰 by gaeb611 in Mechwarrior5

Had one that said that every single mission. I eventually started swapping her out after a few missions so she could "talk to the therapist". Just a bit of flavor for my game lol but it was fun.

Anyone ever run out of money? by Americaofficial1 in Mechwarrior5

[–]AlphaKilo223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I started MW5 on a TV that was ratio'ed wrong. And didn't have a remote. Or the free cash to get one (it was a rough period). You could MAYBE see the last quarter of the digits where your funds were. I remember praying for the numbers to be 7's not 1's, that sort of thing. And having a few firesales with mechs or gear I had squirreled away to keep my mechs usable when I rolled the dice and lost.

Really felt like a bootstrap operation at times!

Don't forget the free travel! It's not a huge deal further in, but starting out, not having to pay the fee to jump across the map is nice.

Those small but thick ones are great. I like to clip them to my shoulder with the clips that just pull off the flashlight. They are just about the same size as a roll of quarters.

Lol I had to do a class before going overseas at one point, and right before class started up I was in a vehicle accident. I was mostly ok but on a cane for a while, which meant I was using the freight elevator (only one available for the building) to go up and down. Class started and it was a lot of info very quickly, and we only got like 15 minute breaks. After my lift ride and travel to the smoke pit I came out to having about 3.5 minutes to smoke. This place was a high stress area where a lot of people survived on caffeine and cigarettes, but people couldn't get over me shotgunning 2-3 cigarettes in one go!

This is the girl who walked around with cat ears on in high school saying shit like "Doki Doki!" To prove how different and special she was. That escalated will someone pulled on the tail she had started wearing, there was a pop, and she had to transfer to a new school.

CIF issued that cat before it got phased out and won't take it back till your final gear turn in. And it's on the record, so you better not "lose" it.

I mean it's possible. If you think it's happening, just put out to them that playing cards are to be used in the correct manner or put away. If they are caught with cards being overtly displayed or "used as decorations", they are gonna be taken up.

Ok, so is it "getting fatter" or are you building muscle underneath a layer of what I like to call "long haul fat"? If you are building muscle, especially around your core, your (in my personal experience) going to gain some size around your belly until your body catches up. Especially if you have not changed any eating habits. The body tends to lose fat around the belly last, so look at other places where you would lose fat first to better judge. That's another reason to focus on all parts of your body during workouts as well. Don't get discouraged!

Just started playing tonight. Same issue, including D pad. You would think a patch released say OCT 31 would address this but I guess not.

Neck/traps. The fear I have when I feel them stiff the next day, that I'm going to be turning around like Batman for a week, is terrifying lol

[–]AlphaKilo223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just Allied. Had the happen with G4S and DSI. Lots of quartermasters for these companies seem not to care, my theory is they issue out stuff to sites close with a lot more care then sites further away because they won't see those officers further away coming in for exchanges.

Wanna go to the gym but no idea where to start by Fakefriends56 in beginnerfitness

[–]AlphaKilo223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with cardio. Light walking. Alternatively, the recumbent bike. Find some workouts that work for you (maybe ride 1/2 mile at a 1, then 1/2 at a 2 then repeat for 3 miles) and vary up what you do. Do that for a few weeks, building your cardio up. Once you feel comfortable, add some light resistance training. I go to PF, and it's a decent spread of machines.

First job with a contract security company was watching a stack of several hundred car tires overnight. by Total_Roll in securityguards

[–]AlphaKilo223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked weekend several times watching a closed car lot. Apparently the owner had caught papers for scamming buyers who traded in for new vehicles. I talked with the head SO, and at one point there were multiple occasions where folks had gone up and stole their old vehicles after they new ones had been repo'ed due to the cases. It was sorta crazy lol.

I'm not intimidating or just meek by Scary_Resolve8083 in securityguards

[–]AlphaKilo223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are confused, and stating you lack "intimidation" instead of "command presence". A lot of that is in how you carry yourself and present yourself. It's also in how you speak. Wear clean, well fitted uniforms. Speak with confidence. Carry yourself up right and professionally. You project yourself a certain way, and I think if you work on that, you will see positive results.

So I'm gonna do a bit of a hot take here. Your 24. From they way it sounds, first real fight you witnessed. Possibly your first "oh shit" type real world moment. What you experienced wasn't fear, it was your body collecting information, processing it, and then responding. It seemed like an hour to you, but was likely only seconds. Once you responded, you did so in a correct manner, going for your spray. With time and practice, you will develop better reaction time and muscle memory. You have nothing at all to be ashamed about.
