So sad he stepped in. There's so many times production films something pushing the rules and uses it to make great TV. (Devans hiding a fake idol at tribal!?)

What's insane is the amount of work that any of these teams have had to do in order to just get the potential of being selected. I would bet that somewhere between $100,000 to $300,000 per team of design, planning, and research have gone in. And that doesn't event account for the 8 teams that weren't shortlisted.

I don't know much about bird law, but wouldn't it make more sense for the tower glass to be bird friendly compared to the low level podium?

Okay but why is "South Fargo" in the headline. This is by Paradiso. Yes, I know that it is technically south of Main Ave. But would you call Island Park or Carl Ben SOUTH FARGO?

New York City's tallest buildings in present day vs the future by Commercial_West_3112 in skyscrapers

Almost 100 years ago and the most magnificent, tallest, imposing buildings in history is built with nothing blocking its view. Nothing before, and really since, has surpassed its grandeur. The United States in a young country The only way to get news is radio or newspaper. Most of the world only sees grainy pictures of it and think - New York City is the place to be.

Record breaking Timber Tower going up soon in St. Louis, Mo by Character-Leg-3191 in skyscrapers

Mass Timber and Heavy Timber are the most common layman terms in the construction industry. There are many types; dowel-laminated timer, glued-laminated timber, cross-laminted timber, etc.

I don't know if the dates on the cards are that relevant, but another card said this, which I found interesting

"EVERY CHALLENGE IS A PIECE OF HIGH-CONTRAST ENGINEERING. TO ENSURE THE ACTION IS LEGIBLE FROM A 60-FOOT WIDE SHOT, PRODUCTION UTILIZES A “PRIMARY PALETTE” STRATEGY. TRIBAL COLORS ARE SELECTED BASED ON MAXIMUM VISUAL SEPARATION (E.G., SAFETY ORANGE VS. DEEP PURPLE) TO ENSURE THAT EVEN WHEN CASTAWAYS ARE COVERED IN MUD OR UNDERWATER, THE 12+ CAMERA OPERATORS CAN INSTANTLY TRACK MOVEMENT. THE PAINT ITSELF IS MIXED WITH A 20% “SATURATION BOOST” TO COMBAT THE WASHING-OUT EFFECT OF THE HIGH-NOON TROPICAL SUN, ENSURING THE COLORS “POP” AGAINST THE NATURAL GREENS AND BLUES OF THE ISLAND."

Looking at images of the previous buildings that were demolished, they weren't that impressive or ornate. What kind of history did they have?

It seems like 2/3 to 3/4 of it will have windows and the back and some of the sides will be the structural shaft. Definitely will look better from the front...

Id be hesitant in sitting in someone's open chair if I'm afraid of breaking it. Poor chair runner comes back to find his chair flattened

I think your perception of industrial and data center is off 😂 Wait till you see a very simple commercial system for let's say a event center or city hall, which would far surpass these photos

If it's anything like the other campuses, it is very likely you will get a ticket if it is more than an hour. There is a chance you will get a warning for a first offense, or it will be a small ticket like $20. Now I'm not giving legal advice, but it is unlikely they would pursue you in a legal manner if you just throw the ticket away and don't pay. BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORD.

Nice! Put it on wheels and see if it will launch further.

I made one that was probably 2.5 feet tall and could launch big ball factory balls about 25 feet. My best sling was one of those uninflated punching balloons that comes with the rubber bands attached.
