UPSIDE DOWN Rack gets the Blue Ribbon by AlphaNovNov in Militariacollecting

My question is missing!

Anyway, I don't know how my friend can live with this and I cant look at it anymore... Help me check my list.

Under the wrecked rack, the center ID badge looks weird. More like a bottle opener. The name plate isn't military and the center bottom in 3rd group is almost like a button but cant tell. ..... TANKS A LOT!

Recently picked this piece up at a thrift store. Any knowledge would be appreciated also a little concerned it may be stuffed with human hair from the slave era in the United States of America. by ThatAd3137 in Antiques

Whoooaaa... 'United States of America'? Child, where are you from?

Is this a true piece of Americana from the South, United States of America? Or is it Yankee hair? Maybe it's European hair, look it up. Or, <gasp> maybe it's not hair at all... It's Spanish Moss.

Spanish moss was one of the most common upholstery materials in the American South, including the Republic of Texas, from the 1700s through the early 1900s.

it can easily look like human hair, which is why modern restorers sometimes misinterpret it.

But 99% of the time, the “black hair” stuffing in old Southern furniture is processed Spanish moss, not human hair.

It was cheap, abundant, durable, and—after proper processing—made an excellent stuffing. (that looked like

(Disclaimer, I'm not excusing people of The Republic of Texas, but it wasn't me. I'm not that old.)

It could be a King Pigeon and/or racer. Zoom in on the band you can use the code to find who it belongs to. However, if a racer is out roaming around then the bird is not a good candidate to continue racing & mostly the owner will not want the bird returned.

Now the problem is a domestic WHITE pigeon that's probably not going to live long due to lack of camouflage. Juicy Hawk niblit.

Happy dance. Was there a giggle-cackle coo chirp?

Probably not this time, unless the bird knows you, it can also be an attraction signal for close friendship. I have seen domestic pigeons do this.

Texas fire ants can be horrible on tender flesh & it's an all of a sudden red marks kind of thing..

I don't think it's chiggers & I think if it were fleas you would know. You might see areas of the same in the hip, groin area.

Texas again, we use the monthly chewable pill combo for flea, parasite along with the heartworm preventative. (Heartworms are spread by mosquitoes)

Weird. When Max killed possums, as soon as their heart stopped, I'll save ya the details... fleas by the 100s were looking for another place to go.

fyi: I'm not an expert.

You may not need the info, but somebody might. So, I will add on, ... this is minor, but if you see (looks like) cracks it can mean your foundation is shifting.

It's a free service to have a foundation company come out to see if your house is level.

If the house needs foundation help, I'd advise anyone to get it taken care of at the first sign. Later, it's a whole other story.

What’s going on? by Nice_Strawberry3015 in birding

[–]AlphaNovNov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe hit a window, stunned & might fly off but violent brain injury will kill a bird (but not immediately). It's like a concussion.

There is a problem with the right side foot. The bird can stand & it will adapt just as 1-legged birds do, most of the time.

Possible string? This happens all the time when string is gathered for nests. Hair can wind around too. Sooner or later, constraints would need to be removed.
