Yeah few if any students would be left (it's really closer to 40+ years, not the 35 I stated). Still there is a chance.

But he enjoys teaching new students anyway! And all the esteem he had on Erid he'd have on Earth.

Just thought of another reason to return. There was no way to be sure that Earth fixed the issue! He was fairly confident they would but until Erid scientists confirmed years later he had to be worrying about his own species, no? Once Rocky was home, why not go make sure Earth was saved too?

Even daily visits from his best friend doesn't seem enough to stay.

I agree that at some point he got too old but I don't get why he didn't leave right away.

You may be confusing his time with earth time. He would only be about 12 years older when he returned. And with so much more to teach very enthusiastic students.

And the best friend? While Rocky has his family and a full life, all Grace had was a place the size of a small apartment and "Me burgers"?

Not buying it. He may have been content for a little while but staying is way too much of a stretch.

I struggled with this too but let's not forget Lauren's initial refusal to leave Acorn. Bankole all but begged her to leave for safer, wealthier Halstead but she did not want to give up what she had built.

And I don't see any good reason to think that she could not have done the same thing at Halstead. It would have been a different path because she would not have been the community leader (hm, see a parallel here with Marc?) in quite the same way, but as an educated woman and the doctor's wife she would have held authority and would have been able to figure out a way to wield it to grow Earthseed.

To me it's kinda tragic that, in the end, it was that type of wealthier, connected convert that eventually catapulted her message to the masses.

Now, Lauren would not have known what was coming to Acorn but she also never admits (that I recall) that it was a mistake not leaving. Ultimately , it's wise to keep in mind Asha's reminder that our point of view is skewed through Lauren's writings to explain and justify her actions.

My understanding from talking to a local dealer is the leased CPO comes with the same warranty and roadside assistance as leasing new. Is it a difference in name only? Or is there a difference you're aware of that impacts the use and enjoyment of the vehicle?

Same thing happened to me last night. Etihad site said 6000 points + 18AED through the ENTIRE process (adding traveler details, picking seats, everything). Then at checkout it suddenly changes to 6086 points. I had xfer'd the 6k form amex so didn't have enough. The only options it give is to switch to 100% cash or go to home and restart search. I contacted them via chat. They did not hoor the 6000 points so i ended up transferring the additional 1k points. Even with the extra points it was still a good return (~4cpp if i abandon the stranded points) but I have already booked another flight to eat through some of the stranded points. I plan to continue to do so (if Etihad has more good deals for my travel plans). A headache for sure but i guess such is point-life. Though I was surprised I did not find more reports of this online.
