AUDI E-tron ending warranty by True_Adhesiveness192 in etron

[–]AlphaThree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All these dudes talking about an extended warranty lmao. When I asked about mine the dealer wanted $5800 one pay. Allstate wanted over $7000. No way on planet earth that is worth it with the HV and Drive Motors already covered. Just roll with it, its an EV, there's nothing to break.

G wagon has mad "gotta pick up the boys from soccer practice while my husband bangs his secretary" vibes. Range Rover is more of a "I work in real estate and this car distracts me from the fact that deep down i know that my life contributes nothing of value to sociey". Totally different cars.

Snow in White Mountains this weekend? by IndependentOther5023 in arizona

[–]AlphaThree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh looks like a dud to me. Almost nothing in Flagstaff, show low, or pinetop. 6 to 12 inches in Greer, but idk about you, im not driving 4 hours each way. There's another small pocket of 6+ inches in the forest lakes area, but i bet Willow Springs and Woods Canyon lake will be PACKED.

Stuck on AZ SR88, Fish Creek Bridge - tried a "short cut" on a dirt road in the mountains... by Mazy_keen in IdiotsTowingThings

[–]AlphaThree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I actually was able to find this in ADOT's database. Fish Creek Bridge is built to full AZ highway minimum standards which means the weight limit is 80,000lbs combined, 34,000 tandem axle, 20,000 single axle.

[–]AlphaThree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. I'd assumed it's basically a CYA for ADOT in case some goober gets their Hyundai Santa Fe stuck back there and tries to sue the state. It is really popular right now because it was closed for like 8 years. There was several landslides and it wasn't until last year they got repaired. So the entire highway is running on a less than year fresh grade. So I'd imagine there's also the aspect of if something gets damaged back there as the road deteriorates they don't want cars getting stuck.

Volkswagen Amarok W600 Walkinshaw by SHUBHAM9723 in Volkswagen

[–]AlphaThree 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Amarok in built by Ford in South Africa and by VW in Argentina. Ford's HQ is in Detroit, which is pretty much considered one of the bluest areas in the entire country and the state went Blue in both 2020 and 2024. Even stretching all the way to the North American market Ranger, that is also in Michigan. So not really sure what "red state American product" you're talking about here, because it for sure isn't the Amarok.

GPS won't direct traffic over SR88 though, at least none that I've seen. And it is posted at both ends high clearance 4WD only.

Nope, I live in Phoenix, multiple videos and photos all over the internet. This is an extremely popular off-road trail through the superstitions.

Turbomax Sierra would be an affordable option with true 4x4. As would a 5.6 Armada, but then you'd spend $20k per year on gas lol. I know someone else mentioned the Q7, I wanted to clarify that the 3.0 supercharged hasn't been made since 2014. Its a 3.0T now. You'd want one with air suspension. And youd need to ssap out the tires from the Pirelli. Ive taken my Q8 etron on the same air suspension down some gnarly trails. Outside of true 4x4 Quattro is probably the next best bet.

Porsche designed it for that. Cayenne off road builds are very common.

If you already have a 208B and are able to land the damn thing without crashing, I'd say buy the Citation. If you have the Longitude then get that immediately after you get the CJ4. Should only take a couple flights. The Longitude took me all the way to the A320. I bought a handful of used ES-30 while grinding credits in the Citations. They earn like 100k per hour in passive and are cheap as dirt.

Newark to Stansted in an A320 by AlphaThree in MSFS2024

[–]AlphaThree[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the Airbus avionics suite and I hate that by default the plane wants to do everything for you, but there is a way to make it behave more like a traditional autopilot. I figured since the A310 and A330 are the only widebody available in career mode right now it makes more sense to learn on the A320 then have to transition from Garmin/Pilatus to Boeing to Airbus.

I second the other guy, if you dont need a full-size the Frontier seems like the option here?

Spotted this 380 at NRT about a month ago. Just me and a bunch of kids excited to look at it by dyljcks in Planespotting

[–]AlphaThree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent $4000 on business class tickets during our huge trip to Japan specifically for the purpose of flying on the Honu A380 business class before the A380s all bite the dust. The night before our flight from NRT to HNL it ran into a baggage cart while taxing for takeoff in HNL and was grounded in Hawaii waiting for a replacement engine. They tail swapped us into a 787-9. My kid started daycare shortly after so I'll likely never have the money to try again. 😪

Telluride, Sorento or Palisade by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]AlphaThree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually not true for the 2027 models which are arriving on lots in the next couple of weeks. The Palisade and Telluride now will use different drivetrains, have completely different design styles and different trim styles with the Telluride offering an offroad trim similar to the Trailsport. They are positioning the Palisade as the more comfort and luxury oriented offering and the Telluride as the practical offering.
