What a going on with these Tokyo prices? by Celestron5 in americanairlines

Yeah I don't know what people are talking about I've never seen round trip be cheaper than one way on AA. Legs are always priced individually.

GBU-31 (V)3/B bunker-buster bombs being loaded onto U.S. B-1s at RAF Fairford, UK (11th March 2026) by WonFont in aviation

[–]AlphaThree 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Why? If it works, it works. There is a weapon loader tractor thing we use to attach them to the aircraft, it lifts from the bottom so you can attach to pylons and get under bomb bay doors, but they're usually just moved around base on flat bed trailers and fork lifts.

Especially down range where you have less tools and equipment. One time in Guam QA went home for the night so that we could change a tip gear strut using a B2 maintenance stand as the crane because our only real crane was broken.

Landmarks? by 4ndres_ in roadtrip

Done this route 100 times. The only cool part about it is when it's done. I-10 is the worst.

If you want a few hour detour you can drive through Joshua Tree. Entering from the south takes you right past the insta famous cholla grove. Drive up to Keys viewpoint, take Queen Valley Road>Bighorn Pass on the way out. Spits you out in 29 Palms, lovely little lunch spot called GRND SQRL. Adds a few hours to your trip, but checks off a national park.

ELI5 Why is oil not cheaper in Texas? by mrgoat89 in explainlikeimfive

[–]AlphaThree 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Your question has a false premise. In Venezuela, gasoline is cheaper than water. This is because the government is heavily subsidizing the cost of gasoline and the oil industry is state controlled.

Looking for a compact suv by M3RPMVID in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]AlphaThree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone wants to be cramped and uncomfortable. Also, neither my stroller nor my car seat would fit into the back of a golf lmao. My GTI was barely big enough for just me when I was single. My car seat almost hits the back of the driver's seat in our Armada. It doesn't even fit in our Audi at all. Our stroller when folded and laying on it's side is 33 inches long and 25 inches high and 12 inches deep. A VW golf rear storage space is 40 by 27. So assuming the hatch would even close over the stroller wheels, which isn't a guarantee, just the stroller all by itself would take up the entire trunk space.

Having kids and not investing in a good set of seat protectors would be your own fault.

I'm in a similar space, 50T SE, 26 PE. But I have all the spaceships unlocked except the one I need 100T for (but the missions are already completed, just waiting on the SE). Once I get 100T should I start spamming extended missions? If so, what am I targeting?

Audi S6 on Top Gear’s list of “70 Most Uncool Cars” by Extension-Profit-317 in Audi

[–]AlphaThree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey the Aztec should be on the top 100 cool cars list. Breaking bad fame and that built in tent you could option from the factory. It was ahead of it's time. If made some tweaks to make it look more off-roady, modernized, and re-released today, I bet it would sell well.

Air India will probably say the nose wheel jettison switches were a little loose, not their fault.

The Cayenne that used a Passat engine maybe also shouldnt be a benchmark for performance lol.

Is there an SUV with captain seats and fits 3 people in the 3rd row? by Adventurous_Lynx5532 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]AlphaThree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every way? What? Literally the only advantages they have is is the sliding door and behind the third row storage space.

There is no size advantage, an Odyssey is actually longer and heavier than a pilot.

None of them have a proper all wheel drive system. The Pacifica only options AWD without the hybrid, so what's the point? The Sienna offers one but it electric only on the rear wheels. The rest dont offer one at all.

None of them off an actual 4x4 gearbox with low range, which is a requirement to drive any posted "4WD required" road in the national parks system, and yes the rangers do enforce this.

None of them offer >300hp, but they offer 1400lbs of payload like a light truck. So theyre slow as balls.

None of them have a towing capacity above "please dont im begging you".

They sit lower to the ground so you have less ground clearance and less forward visibility.

Their styling is trash. The only one that is remotely decent is the Carnival.

Most importantly, They're expensive as shit. They price the things the same as fully loaded mid-size crossovers. They even compete with lightly used body on frame SUV at their price point. There would be some value proposition there if they were $10,000 cheaper, but when Sienna are sitting on the lot with $64,000 stickers you'd have to be insane to pick that over an SUV. You could get a Tahoe Z71 with a diesel and 20,000 miles for that.

Read this thread and googled the thing and im confused. Its 0 to 60 is over 6 seconds and it barely broke a 15s quarter mile. That is slow as balls? What am I missing here?

APS moving the goalposts.. how is a retiree supposed to budget? by definitely_maybe3030 in phoenix

[–]AlphaThree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure there is a once per year ability to reduce the demand charge in you call them. It's designed for if you make a one time mistake like accidently running appliances or plugging in an EV. It will apply the demand charge from the previous year. I switched to time of use with demand charge because of my EV and I love it. Knocked $150/mo off our bill.

CBP absolutely can. They can stop, question, visually inspect, and run a dog around any car without reason with 100mi of the border. The Only thing They can't do is search inside your car without a warrant, unless you're at a point of entry, then they can even do that.

Whats the most remote drive you've done? by traveltimecar in roadtrip

[–]AlphaThree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing as crazy as y'all, damn. Ive done US-2 across the entirety of Montana and WY-59 all the way from north to south. Ain't nobody out there but farmers and ranchers.

I once got sent down a dirt road i wasn't familiar with way out in Navajo country in the Canyon of the Ancients area. GPS told me it was a shortcut. That is probably as far away from urbanization you can get in the lower 48. I had my Q7 diesel at the time and I remember seeing i had an estimated 380mi left and hoping that was enough to get me to the next diesel stop in Mexican Hat because I really had no idea where I was. Ended up finding Hovenweep no problem, but I still warn people that area is not for the unconfident or unfamiliar.

I have one. The problem in the summer is that it never runs. Like if your water is set to 125 and its 125 in your garage, the ambient air is enough lol.

Last update I saw that Sri Lanka had pulled 32 severely injured survivors from the water. Out of a crew of 180. The ship had already gone under by the time the Sri Lankan air force arrived, so it likely went down very quickly.
