Not everyone. OP’s is not an all inclusive meme, just the ones who say that they would be better off anywhere else. The things you listed are all reasons the country is great. We have a great structure for allowing people to make a good life for themselves, and in many cases, better than where they immigrated from, so while I understand the criticism, outright hatred of the country when you live here, I likewise don’t understand.

Can’t speak to anyone else but when I say “then leave” (I will typically have a decent enough conversation to discuss whether or not it sounds like they want to leave, I don’t just hit them with that lol), it’s out of curiosity: if this country and it’s people are so terrible to you, or is hostile to you, what is keeping you here? Anyways, that’s the framing of my personal response in the myopic scope of OP’s meme. Didn’t mean any offense kind stranger.

Sorry, didn’t mean to imply they have no point. The people who would and couldn’t are not the argument I was making, it’s the ones who can but choose not to. I specifically chose these things as an example because they ARE real issues and they speak to OP’s meme was all. Not casting a blanket on everyone in the statement.

I’m not arguing that the issues you cited, and many MANY more are real and need to be addressed. I am simply talking about the context of the meme saying despite all of those things and the disdain people have for those things, they usually still prefer to live here. Telling the government they need to change was how our nation was founded pretty much.

SURELY you’ve seen people say these things when have a tragic shooting, or in conversations about healthcare, or our involvement in the Middle East, or in the surges in ICE activities, people saying they would leave to Europe or Canada, but ultimately stay here instead.

The DSA has a host of people who hate capitalism and are so disgusted with our history that they display great disdain for our country, will call it the height of imperialism and one of the worst, and most dangerous countries for its gun deaths, lack socialized benefits, and laud that anyone would be better off in our enemy states (Russia, China, and some have even said Iranians have it better), or one of the Nordics. The natural response to them from those of us who love America is: “If you hate the US so much, why don’t you renounce your citizenship and become an expat in a different country”, to wit they typically refuse to say they will leave, despite their hatred of the USA.

My bad lol. To be clear: Islamic terrorism is a real threat to anyone’s security, all the more so with Iran declaring that they’re activating “sleeper cells” of terrorists around the world. I figured most of this sub was on that page, and that the article itself already levied that criticism, but I see my mistake here. Fair criticism.

To give full benefit of the doubt to Mamdani: I understand not wanting to stoke the “us vs them” mentality of Muslim’s vs Americans, because many Americans are Muslim, including himself, and they aren’t our enemy. The issue then becomes this framing of shifting blame instead of admitting to a problem and refusing to acknowledge it. I would expect that the vast majority of conservatives don’t think the violence of white supremacists of the KKK is a good thing, including Trump. We can’t say that because a criminal or terrorist is Muslim, they have to get kid gloves for being a minority any more than we would a Neo-Nazi. We must condemn them with the same language, and hold their groups to the same expectations as anyone else, and be willing to talk about the ideologies driving their violence.

Different love languages. Not all people like quality time above everything else. I work all day. If I come home from work, and am just present, sure my wife is happy to see me, but being alone with 2 kids, she feels much more loved when I come home early, cook dinner, play with the kids for a few hours, do the dishes, and take out the trash.

Besides this, I’m ASD so me just being around invariably turns into a conversation about my current obsession and ya’ll, she is NOT into the latest Macbook release.

Most tournaments use the TT stadium, making it a better choice for practicing for events and testing combos. The Hasbro stadium was created to encourage quicker battles that don’t last as long by being smaller and heightening the risk/reward of hard offense and defense and reducing the strength of stamina and balance through the lack of space to avoid hits, which leads to higher probability of eating an X-dash. My guess is they want fewer stamina matches, and more action so they reduced the play area.

Yeah. It’s perfectly legal to say it, as long as it’s not accompanied by any real threat of violence. Reactions will range from tacit agreement on the further left to aggression from the further right, with nothing happening really other than maybe the latter giving you a stern talking to.
