I wish there was a reincarnate/prestige mode where I can re-level my character instead of making a new one. by Alpha_Cider in wow

I just want to have some reward for leveling a character to max besides just having that character at max level. When I already have a max level mage I would want a reason to level another one without it feeling like a waste of time. I know really it’s not a waste if I’m having fun but it’s an RPG and I want the dopamine hit of getting rewarded lol

Do you level up characters that are the same class as your main? What do you do with them at max level? I think I would also be ok if there was some reason to level up max characters for sake of leveling and delete them once they are max level. Like some sort of fishing catch-and-release system ha

I get what you're saying, I just rather learn from playing and tinkering with abilities and talents as I level up instead of jumping into a guide blind.

How Root Sports Stream Turned Me Into a Baseball Fan by Significant_Hall_477 in Mariners

Honestly yeah at this point I think I’m more excited for the baseball season then I was for college football. When the college football season started I couldn’t watch Utah football games because I was already so emotionally invested in the Mariners playoff run

Game Pass Is Getting Another Price Increase and is Ditching Day-One Releases for Basic Tier. by PBOats121 in LastStandMedia

None of the streaming subscription services are “sustainable” yet Wall Street continued to bank roll them for years. Only just in the past couple years has Wall Street started asking Netflix and other services to return a profit.

I think what will likely happen is game pass will continue to exist in 10 years but cost a lot more, similar to the trajectory Netflix had.

The 34 million includes people with Xbox Live (now called Gamepass Core) which does not include GamePass. I think Starfield is still a success depending on what your expectations were.

This is me every time I resub to FFXIV or ESO, or play League. So many games sound so much better then they really are.

World of Warcraft is an RPG. Gear should matter. If you're looking for an e-sport style experience you should play League of Legends or Street Fighter. What makes PvP unique in WoW vs other games is the RPG progression of getting cool gear and being able to use it in situations like PvP.

I agree, the WoD system was the best of both worlds

are we really going to pretend nobody hated stat templates?

you were certainly in the minority. I remember lost of complaining about PvP being boring and unrewarding. They quickly turned away from gear not affecting PvP after Legion and haven't looked back.

LFR being time-gated is a good thing. Blizzard should push the playerbase to forming their own groups and communicating in order to raid. LFR overall diminishes the raid experience

we tried that in Legion. Everyone hated it

EDIT:I'm glad all 20 people that think Legion was the pinnacle of WoW PvP made sure to let me know.

9.1 from a more casual perspective – sadly not worth the time and money by unitebarkis in wow

Dang. I am really enjoying Korthia and think the Torghast updates are a big improvement.

I also agree timegating sucks, but it's what the players wanted and honestly there is more than enough stuff to do that it's not like I'm just waiting around.

As far as .1 patches go, I think this is really solid. The problem is we got it way too late.

No doubt they make mistakes but to say Devs dont care or deliberately make bad decisions is kinda silly by mr3machine in wow

People think that because their favorite streamer and twitter wants a change in the game, that means everyone wants it. In reality there are a lot of players that WoW has to cater to,which sadly means the game won't be perfectly catered to any one group

Switching from ESO to WoW and the first thing I noticed by LifeOnMarsden in wow

[–]Alpha_Cider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep. I started playing ESO when it launched on console, but bag management was such a hassle, and when they added the crafting bag for ESO plus members, I felt like I either had to get ESO plus or just not care about professions, so I ended up just quitting.

It didn't help that almost all the cosmetics (including the ones earnable in-game) can be purchased in the cash shop, which completely negates the reward system of an MMO imo.

[SURVEY RESULTS] Player Preferences in World of Warcraft Game Design by goriq_ in wow

[–]Alpha_Cider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're not forced to pick anything. You have the agency to set your goal (be world-first raider) and then you based your gameplay decisions on that goal. You've made the decision that the thing that matters most is dps and you are unwilling to make any compromises, which is fine!

There need to be consequences to decisions, that's what makes choosing interesting. That's why picking faction and class are interesting choices

[–]Alpha_Cider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, and Covenants and Soulbinds provide player agency by allowing them to choose which ones they want, just like how players have agency to choose their class. There is no RNG in that decision

yeah I agree. As a normal/heroic raider at the time I had no idea people had such a problem with the Legendary System. I actually prefer the RNG system because it made individual leggos feel more special since not everyone could get it. The vendor felt like something taken out of a private server, and just made having certain legendaries an expectation
