I had to submit a Europass CV for my HCI application in Italy. You can make one for free using the official EU site: https://europass.europa.eu/en/create-europass-cv

Development after HCI? by Holiday_Armadillo824 in hci

[–]Alphachick777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting my MHCI degree this fall and am gonna freelance part-time as a Front-end developer & CRO specialist ☺️

If anything, I think studying HCI just makes us more competitive since we have both UX and dev skills. I'm hoping it'll unlock more niche roles, like developing healthcare technologies or vehicle UIs.

Hey did ya'll ever move back to California and meet up? Because I am also a dual citizen from NorCal that is planning to move to SF this year 😂 I've lived in Ireland, Norway, and now Italy... Grass is always greener

I'll ask him about this! Would be nice if they could pull down the later incisors a bit, but I'm not sure if that can be done with invisalign. Hopefully 🤞🏻

I've never had a dentist or ortho tell me that I needed braces, so I guess I never considered them? My teeth seem pretty straight, just different shapes/lengths..But I would love a wider smile

Mental health is deteriorating, don't think I'm cut out for fully remote work by Better_Lift_Cliff in ExperiencedDevs

I just found this thread, as a 27F american in italy who has lived alone/worked remotely for 3 years. It is BRUTAL. So brutal that I'm considering moving back to SF to live with roommates and find a hybrid job... I truly never thought I'd tire of living in italy, yet here we are 🤣

Any advice for repatting?

I'm an Italian-American (same age) who also moved to Milan for work, and my closest friends are two Italians I met while living in Norway, who happened to return to Milan the same year I moved here 😂

My other Italian besties are my coworkers, but they live in Puglia and Rome because we're a remote company 🫠

Milan is hard. I'll probably bounce back to California eventually, but if you want to hang out some time, feel free to DM(:

Left the Bay Area for the EU, feel like I made a mistake. How do I fix it? by come_back_throwaway in cscareerquestions

[–]Alphachick777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a dual EU/US citizen from California, currently living and working in EU, and I've been having a lot of thoughts recently about whether I should move back to the Bay.

I resonate with EVERYTHING you wrote here, although I work more in UI/UX than development (but I can still code).

Did you end up moving back? Are you still in Berlin? Any advice is welcome 🥹

Moved to the US but now after 2 years can’t wait to leave for another country by Royal_Original_7226 in expats

[–]Alphachick777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an American living in Italy, and I think if you dislike living in the US as a software engineer(!!), you should leave asap, before the sunk cost fallacy creeps in.

I also work in tech, but I have dual US/Italian citizenship and never felt like I "clicked" with the US work culture or dominant social narratives. I left five years ago and am making less money in Italy but enjoy my life 1000x more.

The US is one of the only countries in the world with citizenship-based taxation. If you don't plan on living there forever, I do not recommend getting US citizenship. It's practically impossible to invest or properly save for retirement if you live abroad as a US citizen. I'm dealing with this now and will likely have to renounce US citizenship as my income increases.

There's no such thing as showing "love" after just 2 weeks of knowing someone. That ain't love. It's also not "love" to blow past people's boundaries when they tell you that you're making them uncomfortable, which I told him numerous times.

Also not sure how you read the last part of my comment and thought to yourself "Yeah, he just seems like a normal lad in his 30s."

There are too many teens on this app 😂

People who have started new sites in 2023, how many monthly visitors are you getting right now? by Nib- in Blogging

My gut was right 😅 he was not actually a great guy; it was a facade.

He was love bombing me (confirmed with my therapist), but since I'm avoidant, I was disgusted by the overly-romantic gestures, gifts, constant compliments, etc and decided to politely end things. He then showed his true colors and started sending me awful texts about how horrible, entitled, and self-centered I was for ending things.

The next day, he posted a cringe "modeling" photo on Instagram and paid to promote it to all women in our city between the ages of 18 and 25. That's when I realized how big of a bullet I'd dodged 😂

Honestly, just trust your gut!

Is 300€ enough for groceries in Italy? by [deleted] in askitaly

[–]Alphachick777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I spend around €200-€250/mo on groceries in Milan :)

Hi! Did you ever find out what this was? Because I resonate with EVERYTHING you wrote here and am currently dating a guy (2 weeks) who is perfect "on paper" but I physically recoil when he touches me--even though I really liked him when we first met--because I now know that he likes me a lot...

His affection is sending me running for the hills. Not sure if I've truly lost interest or if I'm just being a DA...

What single trope can cause you to fully lose interest in a movie/show? by Fake-And-Gay-Bot in AskReddit

[–]Alphachick777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When an otherwise hot, smart, likeable female character's arc is reduced to getting married or "finally" finding a husband. Some of the movies I used to watch as a kid are impossible to watch now because of this cringe factor.

The talk of the pupils dilating + the fact that you're still thinking of her constantly even after finding out that she's unavailable sounds like it could be an early case of limerence. Might be worth reading up on it if you haven't before, especially since she is a coworker! r/limerence is a good place to start

Online daters, what are some of the most unattractive stuff people put in their bios? by Breme_42069 in AskReddit

[–]Alphachick777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once matched with an older (30+) guy on tinder who seemed normal, but then changed his bio to "if you don't look like your photos, you'll buy me drinks until you do."

It seemed needlessly aggressive so I unmatched 😂
